Abstract

The halal sector is emerging on a global scale, expanding into other industries including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, logistics, finance, and travel. This study examines the Islamic law from the shariah governance perspective and its foundation on the halal industry’s competitive advantage. Having utilized a literature based methodology, the study integrates and synthesizes islamic jurisprudence, policy and regulations, technology and consumers, and empirical studies undertaken from 2015 to 2025. The study concludes that halal certification is a competitive advantage only when Islamic law is embedded with foundational regulations, effective controls, and a fetwa system. The study also suggest that the artificial intelligence, block chain and digital certification improve governance transparency and traceability. The study concludes that Islamic law is a religious requirement but also serves as a strategic governance framework that enhances global competitiveness.

Abstract

Indonesian migrant children studying at PKBM PNF KBRI Kuala Lumpur face various challenges in accessing education, particularly in developing writing literacy skills. The unstable socio-economic conditions of migrant worker families and the limited learning facilities often hinder their learning process. Based on observations at the Community Learning Center (PNF) KBRI Kuala Lumpur, it was found that most students still struggle to write simple sentences and are not yet accustomed to expressing ideas in written form. This mentoring program aims to improve the writing literacy skills of migrant children through the Writing Assistance Program for Migrant Children at PNF KBRI Kuala Lumpur. The strategy used is Service Learning with a participatory-educative approach, in which university students act as facilitators who guide learners actively and reflectively. The implementation of the program includes problem identification, planning, implementation, reflection, and follow-up stages. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation of students’ writing products throughout the activity. The results show an improvement in learners’ basic writing abilities, including increased confidence, better understanding of sentence structure, and improved neatness. Students also demonstrated positive attitudes toward writing activities and greater confidence in expressing themselves through written text. Contextual approaches and the use of simple media were proven effective in creating an active and enjoyable learning atmosphere. Thus, this mentoring program not only contributes to enhancing the writing literacy skills of migrant children but also strengthens the application of the Service Learning concept in community service. The program serves as a reciprocal learning space between university students and learners and offers inspiration for implementing literacy mentoring in other non-formal education settings.

Abstract

This mentoring aims to describe the implementation of student discipline mentoring through congregational prayer habits at the Indonesian Embassy's PNF Community Learning Center (PKBM PNF) in Kuala Lumpur and analyze its influence on the formation of religious character. The problem lies in the low consistency of students in performing congregational prayers, especially outside of school. The method used is service learning, involving the supervising teacher, students, and the principal as the subjects of the activity. The results show that the habit of congregational prayer is carried out routinely every day and has become part of the school culture. This program not only forms the habit of regular worship but also instills religious values such as time discipline, togetherness, and a sense of responsibility for spiritual obligations. In addition to being a worship routine, this activity serves as a means of character formation that is integrated into the educational process. The support of the school environment and the example of teachers also play an important role in maintaining the consistency of this habit. Thus, mentoring through congregational prayer habits has proven effective in improving discipline and strengthening the religious character of students at the Indonesian Embassy's PNF Community Learning Center (PKBM PNF) in Kuala Lumpur.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to increase the effectiveness of CV. Sinar Mutiara Pangan's donut production process, which is struggling with operational waste. The background of this issue is the removal of non-value-adding tasks in an effort to increase productivity. In order to precisely detect and map waste, the lean manufacturing concept is applied using a number of crucial analysis techniques, including Big Picture Mapping, Pareto diagrams, VALSAT, and FMEA. The analysis's findings show that waiting, needless motion, and overproduction are the three main categories of waste.Waste waiting earned the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) of 294, making it the highest priority for improvement. The absence of an appropriate scheduling and information integration system, ineffective production space layout, and poor work coordination were the primary fundamental reasons. The overall lead time was reduced by 5,640 seconds, from 17,760 seconds to 12,120 seconds, following the implementation of the suggested changes. A far more efficient production process with less waiting time and a smoother process was achieved by successfully reducing the number of activities from 22 to 15 and eliminating all non-value-added activities for 2,340 seconds to 0 seconds.

Abstract

Integrating blockchain technology in the halal supply chain presents a transformative approach to enhancing transparency, efficiency, and compliance with halal certification standards. This study conducts a comparative policy analysis between Indonesia and Malaysia, examining the regulatory frameworks, technological readiness, and strategic adoption models influencing blockchain implementation. Using a mixed-method approach, we employ SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results) analysis to identify key drivers and potential growth areas and QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix) to evaluate strategic alternatives for blockchain adoption. Our findings highlight that Indonesia focuses on strengthening halal certification transparency, whereas Malaysia has progressed further in integrating blockchain within logistics and international halal trade. While both countries recognize blockchain’s potential in achieving SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequality), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), challenges remain in technological accessibility, regulatory standardization, and industry-wide adoption. The study recommends a hybrid approach, combining national blockchain adoption to enhance certification integrity with regional collaboration to standardize halal blockchain frameworks globally. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on blockchain’s role in sustainable supply chain management and provides actionable insights for policymakers, industry leaders, and halal certification bodies.

Abstract

Abstract

This research focuses on implementing digital media for Islam’s green economy and greenwashing. The research focuses on the decolonization of environmental communications. Using content from the three of the most prominent platforms Kompas.com, Detik.com, and TimesIndonesia.co.id and using the interpretive paradigm, purposive sampling of 45 articles from 2022-2024 on each platform disentangles the empirical evidence in the sustainability and greenwashing discourse in acting and using Islamic ethical concepts in the persuasive framework and communication of khalifah, mīzān, maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, and sadd al-dharīʿah. The ethical, albeit fractured, mediation of legitimizing the articulation of green and sustainable ethics is the function of the platforms. Kompas.com is Critical–Reformist in its jurisprudential orientation and Detik.com from within a social construct of ethical individualized responsibility, while Times from the Islamic green ethics realm is primarily rhetorical. These collectively address the instrumental Islamic ethics of modernization of development discourse. Islamic legal maxims, while being highly instrumental and greenwashing within its construct, tend to be selective, cautious, and restrictive. This study enriches the theorization of media and religion within the decolonial discourse paradigms of communication and rhetoric-ecology.

Abstract

This study explores the potential of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) as a framework for transforming Islamic education by promoting inclusivity and equity. Using a qualitative research approach with a multiple case study design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis in selected Islamic educational institutions. The findings indicate that the implementation of UDL principles significantly enhances student engagement, accessibility to learning materials, motivation, and participation. Moreover, UDL aligns with core Islamic educational values such as justice (‘adl), compassion (rahmah), and respect for learners’ dignity. This study concludes that integrating UDL into Islamic education curricula is a strategic approach to fostering inclusive and equitable learning environments and contributes to ongoing discussions on inclusive educational reform within religious education contexts.
