Abstract

Cemaran bakteri Escherichia .coli merupakan salah satu ancaman bagi setiap daya tahan tubuh makhluk hidup. Menurunnya daya tahan tubuh makhluk hidup disebabkan oleh minimnya kualitas kesehatan yang bersumber pada produk makanan yang tercemar, produk obat yang tercemar, produk kosmetik yang tercemar hingga lingkungan sekitar yang sering tercemar berat. Lingkungan sekitar yang sering tercemar cukup tinggi dan berpeluang besar oleh adanya serangan bakteri Escherichia. coli terdiri atas produk hasil pertanian maupun peternakan yang banyak menimbulkan diare bagi masyarakat yang tidak memiliki imunitas yang kurang stabil. Aktivitas peternakan menjadi salah satu permasalahan dalam mencemari lingkungan adalah kotoran hewan ternak disepanjang SMAN 5 Cilegon. Kotoran hewan ternak disepanjang SMAN 5 Cilegon terdiri dari kotoran hewan ternak ayam, kambing, dan kerbau. Ketiga kotoran hewan ternak tersebut tentunya mengandung bakteri Escherichia coli yang merupakan salah satu bakteri gram negatif penyebab kejadian luar biasa atau KLB yang perlu diberikan suatu pemaparan bagi siswa maupun siswi SMAN 5 Cilegon yang pro aktif dalam mengikuti Karya Ilmiah Remaja (KIR) bidang Biologi untuk meningktakan pengetahuan dan wawasan mengenai keberadaan bakteri E coli yang terdapat di SMAN 5 Cilegon dari tiga kotoran hewan ternak. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah bertujuan untuk memfasilitasi siswa maupun siswi yang terlibat dalam kegiatan KIR Biologi untuk memperoleh cara isolasi dan identifikasi bakteri Escherichia coli yang terdapat di sepanjang SMAN 5 Cilegon Banten. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat bekerja sama dengan Laboratorium UPTD Pengujian dan Penerapan Mutu Hasil Perikanan (PPMHP) Provinsi Banten dengan metode yang berlaku. Tahapan kegiatan ini meliputi survey, pra plaksanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. responden yang telah teruji berdasarkan hasil pre test mengenai wawasan dan pengetahuan isolasi dan identifikasi bakteri E. coli yang diambil dari tiga sampel kotoran hewan ternak sepanjang SMAN 5 Cilegon. Siswa siswi yang paham sebesar 23% dan 77% adalah komposisi persentase siswa dan siswi yang belum paham mengenai materi isolasi bakteri E. coli dari ketiga sampel kotoran hewan ternak. Sampel kotoran hewan ternak yang terdapat disepanjang SMAN 5 Cilegon seperti kerbau, kambing, dan ayam telah terbukti mengandung bakteri Escherichia coli

Abstract

Telang flower kombucha has been widely studied as a probiotic drink that can boost the immune system which in recent research has various pharmacological activities as a source of antimicrobials, especially in health problems related to dental disease. Previous studies and this is still a renewable research has found that mouthwash formulations and preparations made from an active ingredient of seagrass kombucha fermented solution have been shown to be able to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans, and Streptococcus mutans. This study aims to make toothpaste formulations and preparations with an active ingredient of telang flower kombucha fermented solution as a pharmaceutical biotechnology product designed to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and mutant Streptococcus bacteria as well as pathogenic fungi in the form of Candida albicans species. This type of research is a laboratory experiment in which we make a toothpaste base without the active substance as a negative control. Provide toothpaste that is sold in the market as a positive control. Make formulations and preparations of toothpaste with active ingredients from the fermented butterfly pea flower kombucha solution which includes concentrations of 20%, 30% and 40%. Data analysis was used through one way ANOVA where in the results of the study each preparation had a P value <0.05, so that further tests could be carried out through post hoc analysis. eggplant at a concentration of 40% was significantly different from 20% and 30% as a pharmaceutical biotechnology product in inhibiting the growth of the three test microbes and the results of this study it can be concluded that the formulation and preparation of toothpaste made from the active ingredient of butterfly pea flower kombucha fermentation solution is the best treatment as an antimicrobial and pharmaceutical biotechnology products.

Abstract

Horticultural commodity crops are commodities that have high selling value and have properties as functional food and pharmaceutical ingredients. So the majority of horticultural farmers often prioritize meeting market needs. Obstacles that occur in the field are decreasing quality and quantity due to pest and disease attacks as well as excessive use of chemical-based fertilizers. The aim that can be offered in this community service activity is to provide education about the potential of butterfly pea flower kombucha, apart from being used as a functional food, it can also be used as a natural antibiotic without other additives as an antifungal pathogen from horticultural commodity plants as well as providing education about the potential of butterfly pea flower kombucha as a raw material for organic liquid fertilizer to support the growth of horticultural commodity plants which has been proven by various research results. by providing an explanation of the basics of butterfly pea flower kombucha fermentation which is useful as a probiotic drink to enhance the immune system in general which has a high potential for being a functional food, pharmaceutical/medicinal or cosmetic, an ingredient in organic liquid fertilizer preparations, and a natural antibiotic for fungal pathogens of horticultural plants. Horticultural farmers from Pekuncen village learned about the potential of butterfly pea flower kombucha with a percentage of 100% after the presentation of the material.

Abstract

Indonesia’s tropical climate with high sun exposure increases the risk of oxidative stress on the skin due to free radicals. Synthetic antioxidants in skincare products are proven effective but may cause long-term side effects. Natural ingredients offer a safer and more promising alternative. This study aimed to formulate an antioxidant lotion using ethanol extracts of black soybean and pigeon pea. Extraction was carried out by maceration using 70% ethanol as solvent. The extracts were formulated into five lotion formulas, consisting of three extract combinations, one positive control, and one negative control. Evaluation included antioxidant activity using the DPPH method and physical stability tests. Formula 3, containing 11,31% black soybean extract and 3,75% pigeon pea extract, shows the highest antioxidant activity with a strong category (IC₅₀ = 73,5 µg/mL). All formulas show good physical stability during 21 days of storage and form oil-in-water emulsions. The combination of black soybean and pigeon pea extracts demonstrates strong antioxidant potential with good formulation stability and is suitable for development in natural cosmetic products.

Abstract

Niacinamide adalah bentuk amida dari vitamin B3. Bentuk lain dari vitamin B3 termasuk niacin (asam nikotinat). Polivinilpirolidon (PVP) adalah polimer biodegradable dan larut dalam udara yang berasal dari monomer N-vinilpirolidon. Gell merupakan sediaan yang mengandung banyak air dan mempunyai potensi yang lebih baik sebagai sediaan pemberian obat secara topikall dibandingkan salep karena tidak lengket, memerlukan energi yang rendah selama formulasi, stabil dan mempunyai nilai estetika. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi mutu fisik dari sediaan gel niacinamide berbasis PVP berdasarkan parameter mutu fisik meliputi uji organoleptik, uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji viskositas, uji daya lekat, dan uji daya sebar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental yang dilakukan untuk mengetahui mutu fisik gel yang baik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sediaan gel niacinamide berbasis PVP yang dihasilkan memiliki tekstur gel kental, warna transparan, tidak berbau, homogen, nilai rata – rata pH sebesar 6,6, nilai rata - rata viskositas sebesar 2673,6 - 2179,6, nilai rata – rata daya sebar sebesar 6,2 – 6,3, dan nilai rata-rata daya lekat sebesar 4,67 – 4,46. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut sediaan gel niacinamide berbasis PVP memiliki mutu fisik yang memenuhi persyaratan sesuai kriteria baik.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Bunga Krisan (Crhysanthemum cinerariaefolium (Trevir.)Vis.) mengandung flavonoid, saponin dan polifenol yang berkhasiat sebagai repelan terhadap nyamuk Aedes aegypti. Lotion dibuat ke dalam tipe M/A, dengan kombinasi asam stearat dan setil alkohol sebagai emulgator dan pengental. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuat sediaan lotion menggunakan kombinasi asam stearat dan setil alkohol untuk mendapatkan mutu fisik yang baik, serta mendapatkan konsentrasi ekstrak etanol bunga krisan yang efektif sebagai lotion repelan dan efek aman pada kulit. Ekstraksi bunga krisan dilakukan menggunakan etanol 70%. Ekstrak etanol bunga krisan kemudian diuji aktivitas repelan guna memperoleh konsentrasi yang paling efektif yaitu sebesar 1,2%. Formulasi lotion ekstrak etanol bunga krisan dibuat menjadi 7 formulasi dengan kombinasi asam stearat dan setil alkohol. Formula yang didapat, diuji stabilitas fisik meliputi viskositas, daya lekat, daya sebar dan pH. Uji iritasi dengan metode Human 4 hour patch test. Konsentrasi ekstrak bunga krisan sebesar 1,2 % memiliki daya proteksi tertinggi. Kombinasi asam stearat dan setil alkohol yaitu asam stearat 7% dan setil alkohol 10%. Formula lotion ekstrak etanol bunga krisan memiliki ketidakstabilitan daya lekat, daya sebar, pH dan viskositas selama penyimpanan 30 hari. Formula lotion ekstrak bunga krisan tidak menyebabkan iritasi pada kulit dan cukup dapat diterima oleh probandus. As REPELAN ABSTRACT Chrysanthemum flowers (Crhysanthemum cinerariaefolium (Trevir.) Vis.) Contains flavonoids, saponins and polyphenols which are efficacious as repellents against Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. The lotion is made into the M / A type, with a combination of stearic acid and cetyl alcohol as an emulgator and thickener. The purpose of this study was to make lotion preparations using a combination of stearic acid and cetyl alcohol to obtain good physical quality, and to obtain ethanol extract of chrysanthemum flowers which is effective as a lotion repellant and has a safe effect on the skin. Chrysanthemum flower extraction was carried out using 70% ethanol. The ethanol extract of the chrysanthemum flowers then tested the repellant activity in order to get the most effective concentration of 1.2%. The ethanol extract lotion formulation of chrysanthemum was made into 7 formulations with a combination of stearic acid and cetyl alcohol. The formula obtained was tested for physical stability including viscosity, adhesion, spreadability and pH. The irritation test was done by using the Human 4 hour patch test method. Chrysanthemum extract concentration of 1.2% has the highest protective power. The combination of stearic acid and cetyl alcohol is 7% stearic acid and 10% cetyl alcohol. Chrysanthemum flower ethanol extract formula lotion which has instability of adhesion, dispersibility, pH and viscosity for 30 days of storage. Abstract

ABSTRACT Salam leaf (Syzygium polyanthum Wight Walp) contains flavonoids, tannins and essential oils that act as antioxidants. Antioxidants react with 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) obtained from free radicals and reduce DPPH. The purpose of this study was to investigate the salam leaf extract were formulated in a lotion with antioxidant activity assay. Lotion is intended for external use as a protective skin. Salam leaf extract obtained by maceration in 70% ethanol to obtain a thick extract. Determination of antioxidant activity by DPPH method. The results showed that the lotion antioxidant assay with IC50 of 105,4 ppm. Antioksidan bereaksi dengan 1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil (DPPH) yang menstabilkan radikal bebas dan mereduksi DPPH. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui esktrak daun salam dapat diformulasikan dalam sediaan lotion beserta aktivitas antioksidannya. Lotion dimaksudkan untuk pemakaian luar kulit sebagai pelindung. Ekstrak daun salam diperoleh dengan cara maserasi dengan etanol 70% hingga diperoleh ekstrak kental. Penentuan aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan metode DPPH. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sediaan lotion antioksidan yang paling besar dengan IC50 105,4 ppm. Abstract

Masker wajah peel-off persiapan kosmetik perawatan kulit berbasis gel yang akan mengembang,lapisan film elastis setelah dioleskan ke kulit untuk jangka waktu tertentu sebelum mengering,sehingga dapat dikupas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menetapkan tingkat konsentrasipolivinil alkohol (PVA) yang digunakan sebagai bahan dasar masker peel off menggunakanekstrak bunga krisan dan mendapatkan nilai IC50 yang terbaik sebagai antioksidan. Metode yangdigunakan dalam proses ekstraksi adalah maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. KonsentrasiPVA yang digunakan 2,5%; 8,75%; dan 17,5%. Uji sifat fisik meliputi uji organoleptis,homogenitas, daya sebar, pengukuran pH, waktu mengering dan aktivitas antioksidan.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh hasil bahwa ekstrak bunga krisan dapat diformulasikanmenjadi sediaan masker wajah peel off, formula dengan konsentrasi PVA 8,75% telah memenuhisyarat sediaan dengan parameter uji organoleptis, daya sebar sebesar 5,69 cm, nilai pH 4,17,waktu mengering 26,5 menit dengan antioksidan kuat nilai IC50 200,15 ppm.

Abstract

Traditional medicine is defined as an herb that has been used for generations for treatment. Ignorance about the use of traditional medicine leads to public misunderstanding of traditional medicines that are supposed to cure but are actually potentially harmful. This study aims to determine the level of public knowledge about the use of traditional medicine in Gondosuli Village, Tawangmangu District. The research method used the Spearman Rank test to determine the relationship between variables and correlations using 357 samples by random sampling. The results obtained showed a significant relationship between knowledge and the use of traditional medicine in Gondosuli Village, Tawangmangu, Karanganyar with a p value of <0.05, which was 0.000. The conclusion of this study is that community knowledge is related to the use of traditional medicine in Gondosuli village.

Abstract

A health problem that occurs during adolescence, puberty and sensitive facial skin is acne. Acne that arises apart from being supported by hormonal factors, on the other hand, can also be caused by the uncontrolled activity of normal flora, causing a decrease in self-confidence in socializing with the environment. Bacteria that initially become normal flora on facial skin then grow because they are uncontrolled and a person's level of cleanliness decreases, ideally in the form of Staphylococcus aureus (SA) and Propinobacterium acnes (PS). Efforts to prevent the growth of bacteria that cause acne, apart from consuming nutritious food, also recommend using cosmetics made from natural ingredients and have antibacterial properties. One of the cosmetics used to maintain cleanliness and prevent the growth of acne-causing bacteria is a gel mask. The advantage of the gel mask preparation is that it does not cause heat, feels cool, and is able to remove dirt from facial skin optimally. The gel mask preparation used in this research was 96% ethanol extract of the kecombrang flower plant. Combrang flowers have been proven to contain phytochemicals which are effective as a source of antibacterial properties. This research aims to provide the latest scientific information on each formulation and gel mask preparation made from the active ingredient 96% ethanol extract of kecombrang flowers in inhibiting the growth of the two test bacteria, namely SA and PS. This research is an experimental laboratory by making a formulation and preparation of a gel mask using the active ingredient 96% ethanol extract of the kecombrang flower plant at a concentration of 5%; 10% ; and 15%. The results of this research have proven that each gel mask preparation correlates positively as an antibacterial for SA and PS. The conclusion in this study is that a concentration of 15% is the optimal concentration as an antibacterial for SA and PS
