Abstract

Abstract: A research had been done on the order Orthoptera grasshopper diversity on the banks of the Musi River in Palembang. The purpose of this research was to analyze the diversity of the insect order Orthoptera on the banks of the Musi River in Palembang. The location of the study include 100 meters terrestrial area from the banks of the river and the area of ​​the aquatic vegetation was found on the banks of the Musi River in Palembang. The research method was a survey method. The result showed 622 sample of grasshopper, 20 species and 6 families grasshopper in four locations, those are Sungai Ijuk, Gandus, Boombaru and Plaju. Grasshoppers family of the order Orthoptera is Acrididae, Gryllidae, Tetrigidae, Tettigonidae, and Tridactylidae. The highest number of individual grasshopper found in Oxya japonica species, while the lowest number of individuals found in the species of Scudderi sp. The highest number of grasshopper species found in the family Acrididae, while the lowest number of grasshopper species found in the family of Pyrgomorphidae, Tetrigidae, and Tridactylidae. Based on the location of Sungai Ijuk found the highest number of individuals grasshoppers (520), while the lowest number of individuals found in Gandus Grasshoppers (19). The highest diversity index was found in Sungai Ijuk, than Boombaru, Gandus and Plaju. The species diversity index of three areas on the banks of the Musi River in Palembang is medium, while the lower region was Plaju. Plaju had the highestspecies dominance index, while the lowest species dominance index was found in Sungai Ijuk. In that case, in Plaju accord certain species dominance. Boombaru had the highest grasshopper species evenness index, while Plaju had the lowest grasshopper species evenness index. Three sites in this study, those are Boombaru, Gandus and Sungai Ijuk had the highest a high population of evenness index, except Plaju which had small grasshopper species evenness index. The result of the research related toecology material, the classification and morphology of grasshopper. The correlation with ecological materialshowed from habitat conditions. The correlation to the classification of material can be seen from the taxonomic diversity of species in the order Orthoptera. The correlation to the morphology material of insect morphology can be seen from grasshopper. In the process of learning material given to the students of Biology Education Faculty of Teacher Training and Education University of Sriwijaya was a contextual material. Abstract

Abstract: This paper aims at addi information about the biology of aphids (Aphis gossypii Glover) (Hemiptera: Aphididae). A. gossypii biological information include: 1). Imago A. gossypii have winged and wingless. A. gossypii have cauda pale somewhat blackish and two or three pairs of setae hair and have tubercles head apart, front head is relatively flat and there is no protrusion at the base of the antenna. The cornicles of A. gossypii dark color, relatively short and black. A. gossypii have antennae shorter than its body length. Imago A. gossypii wings have black kornikel from the base to the tipsmall tubercles between the antenna and do not have additional protrusions on the dorsal side of the abdomen. The colour of nimfa A. gossypii dispersal from gray to green, sometimes its has a black mark on the head, thorax and abdomen proto-wings and blackish green. Nimfa A. gossypii can develop into winged and wingless imago. The colour of the newly eggs  is yellow, but soon becomes shiny black. The eggs are laid on average amounted to 5 eggs per day for 16-18 days. 2). A. gossypii is fitofag cosmopolitan insects which are found in the tropics, subtropics and temperate. A. gossypii have host plants of various families of plants around the world such as Asteraceae, Acanthaceae, Myrtaceae, Solanaceae, Moraceae, Araceae, boraginaceae, Cucurbitacae, Verbenaceae, Sterculiaceae, Rubiaceae, Malvaceae, musaceae, Piperaceae, portulacaceae, Rosaceae, Apocynaceae, Labiatae, Urticeae and Apocynaceae ' Keywords: Aphid, Biology and Aphis gossypii (Glover)

Abstract

Abstract: A study concerning the teratogenic effect of Physalis minima Linn. on fetal mice (Mus musculus). Experiment with completely randomized design consisting 4 treatments and 5 replayments was applied. The treatments consisted control, P1 dose (1,4 mg/0,1 ml Tween 20/10 g weight), P2 dose (2,8 mg/0,1 ml Tween 20/10 g weight), and P3 dose (5,6 mg/0,1 ml Tween 20/10 g weight). Physalis minima Linn.extract solution was given by gevage on gestation day at the 9th until 17th. Day 18th treatment, the mice were weighed, was kelled by neck dislocation, and then preparations fetal skeleton was made. Data were analiyzed by Anova and Duncen test. Extract of Physalis minima Linn. lead to decrease fetal weight and delayed supraocciptal, cervical vertebrae bodies, sakrokaudal vertebrae arches, sternebrae, and posterior intermediet phalanges ossification. It can be concluded that Physalis minima Linn. extract have teratogenic effect on mice fetal. Key words : mice fetal, Physalis minima Linn., teratogenic effect

Abstract

Abstract:This study aimed to determine the effect of lime peel extract to reduce uric acid levels of mice. The method used was experimental method with the complete randomized design using 24 male mice. This study consisted of four treatments and six repetitions. Treatment for the provision of distill water (control) and three dose levels consisting of 1,25 mg/10 gBB (P1),2,5 mg/10 gBB (P2), dan  5 mg/10 gBB (P3). The data were analyzed by doing the analysis of variance followed by computation test of Honestly Significant Difference (HSD).The obtained results showed that the average uric acid levels of this study were 1,8 mg/dL at a dose of 5 mg/10 gBB (P3) as the highest impact and 4 mg/dL at a dose of 1,25 mg/10 gBB (P1) as the lowest effect. Diversity analysis showed that the lime peel extract has the significant impact in reducing of uric acid levels of male mice. Honestly Significant Difference test (HSD) showed that there was a dose of lime peel extracts which is effective in reducing uric acid levels in mice; it was a dose of 5 mg/10 gBB. Based on the reduction of the uric acid levels, it could be concluded that lime peel extract could significantly reduce uric acid levels in mice. Information of the result in this study could be the input learning materials of Biology subject for the tenth senior high school students in the second semester on the Plantae Kingdom topic especially in competency 3.3 which explains about describing Divisio’s characteristics in the Plantae Kingdom and its role for the life survival on earth. Abstract

Abstrak : Telah dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis serangga di Perkebunan Minanga Ogan Kabupaten OKU. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif. Metode deskriptif bertujuan untuk membuat deskripsi secara sistematis, faktual, dan akurat mengenai faktor-faktor, sifat dan hubungan antara penomena yang diselidiki. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan tangkap tangan (hand picking). Hasil penelitian ditemukan sebanyak  8  jenis serangga seperti Metisa plana, Mahasena corbetti, Setora nintens, Birthosea bisura, Setothosea asigna, Dasychira inclusa, Sycanus leucomesus, Eochantecona furcellata yang di kelompokkan dalam 2 Ordo yaitu yaitu Lepidoptera dan Hemiptera dan 5 famili yaitu Pshychidae, Limacodidae, Limantriidae, Reduviidae, Pentatomidae. Indeks keanekaragaman jenis 1,688 dalam kategori sedang dengan kemerataan 0,89 dan indeks dominansi 1. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat disumbangkan sebagai bahan ajar pada pembelajaran Biologi SMA kelas X semester II.   Kata Kunci: Serangga, Perkebunan Minanga Ogan, Indeks keanekaragaman jenis.

Abstract

Abstract: The research on the species diversity of “under community” Tea plantations in Region Pagaralam has done that aims to identify and describe the different types of morphological characteristics of each species of plants and animals found. Research using descriptive methods. Sampling of plants was done by Sampling Purvosve Method. Sampling of animals was done pitfall trap and light trap. Sampling The results of the qualitative analysis of plants and animals are found as many as 92 species consist of 39 species of plants and 53 species of animals. Plants were found to consist of 29 species of Magnoliophyta, 6 species of Pteridophyta and Bryophyta 4 species. Animals were found to consist of 47 kinds of Arthropods, three species of chordates, two species of molluscs and 1 species of annelids. Under Community's existence is found to have a role as the respective components of the ecosystem such as producers, consumers and decomposers. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data and information in learning in high school biology class X KD 4.9 Designing a chart of the interaction between the components of the ecosystem and food networking that takes place in the ecosystem and presenting the results in various forms of media Key words: diversity, under Comunity, tea Plantations Pagar Alam.

Abstract

Abstract:The aimed of this study is to analyze the effect of Pegagan leaf extract  to the estrous cycle of mice. The method was implemented is the experimental method of Randomized Complete Design ( RCD), which used twenty four  female mice. The study consisted three group of treatment with eight replications. Treatment for the provision of Pegagan leaf extract with doses of 0 mg / 10 g body weight (BW) , 2 mg / 10 g BW , and 8 mg / 10 g BW. Pegagan leaf extract given to the mice by gavage for 3 days. Parameters measured were cytological picture of vaginal smears and the duration of the estrous cycle in the female mice. Total average length of the estrous cycle in mice P0 , P1 and P2 were 4.5 days, 5.75 days, and 4.62 days. The results showed that the leaf extract of Pegagan with a dose of 2 mg / 10 g BW maximum increase the duration of estrus cycle time in mice. The increasing of the estrous cycle time because of the phase proestrus and estrus of the mice experienced an increasing of time. The results of the studywere expected to be an additional material as well as additional information on the Learning Sciences School (SMA) X class the second semester on Subject Matter Kingdom Plantae basic competency 3.3 of Describing Characteristics Divisio in the World of Plants and Role for Survival on earth. Keywords : estrous cycle, mice (Mus musculus L), ovulation , pegagan (Centella asiatica).

Abstract

Abstract: This paper aims to inform the contribution from the research result of ecology study golden snail (Pomacea canalicula L.) in Belitang OKU Timur. Method used survey with descriptive pattern. This method described the data of survey result which obtained by researchers. Focus of observation is on biotic and abiotic components which affect the population of golden snail. This research result can contributed on learning activity process of senior high school student first grade concentric Mathematic and sciences, basic competence biology especially, 3.9 Analyzing data or information from various sources about ecosystem and all interaction occurred in it., 3.10 Analyzing data of environment changing and the impact to life., 4.9 Designing a chart of the interaction between the ecosystem components and food cycle held in an ecosystem and providing the results in various forms of media., 4.10 Solving environmental problems by designing wasted recycled products and preserving the environment. The contribution of ecology golden snail in OKU Timur research result is formed in lesson plan (RPP) for study material and student work sheet (LKPD). Abstract

Abstract: This study research aims to determine the effect of extracts of betel leaf (Piper bettle Linn.) For sedation mice (Mus musculus L.). The method is used the experimental method with completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 4 treatments and 6 replications. The treatment consisted of a negative control group (distilled water), and three groups of mice were given extracts of betel leaf with each dose of 0.5 mg / 10 gBW, 1 mg / 10 gBW, and 2 mg / 10 gBW. Data were analyzed by calculating the Diversity Analysis and continued with Test BNT. To decrease muscle power with Traction Test method, then a decreased activity and sensitivity to the environment with Fireplace Test method. Diversity analysis results indicate that the betel leaf extract significant effect on the increase in sedation mice, decreased muscle power, then a decreased activity and sensitivity to the environment with Fireplace Test method. BNT test results show that betel leaf extract dose of 0.5 mg / 10 gBW is the most effective dose in mice increases sedation. Information on the results of this study can be alternatif examples for learning and teaching material and contribution to the Learning Class XI Biology Semester II Basic Competence 3.10. Abstract

Kalimantan Tengah dengan kekayaan ragam hiasnya sejak tahun 1990 dapat mengembangkan industri batik yang bercorak khas. Dari lima perusahaan batik yang ada telah diproduksi 47 variasi motif batik, dan 15 motif di antaranya telah diproduksi berupa batik tulis dan cap. Dari 15 motif ini dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui sejauh mana ragam hias Kalimantan Tengah berperan dalam menciptakan motif batik sehingga dapat diciptakan batik Kalimantan Tengah yang cukup indah.Ragam hias Kalimantan Tengah yang mempunyai elemen-elemen garis, titik, bidang, dan warna dapat disusun secara bebas, baik vertikal, horisontal, diagonal maupun radial, dapat menghasilkan pola yang indah, untuk mengetahui bahwa ragam hias ini dapat dikembangkan pada motif batik, dilakukan pengamatan terhadap 15 produk tersebut mengenai susunan, pewarnaan dan tata warnanya.Dari hasil evaluasi ternyata batik yang menggunakan ragam hias Kalimantan Tengah ini cukup indah, sehingga dapat memperkaya khasanah batik Indonesia, di samping yang telah berkembang di pulau Jawa dan beberapa daerah lainnya.Kalimantan Tengah dengan kekayaan ragam hiasnya sejak tahun 1990 dapat mengembangkan industri batik yang bercorak khas.
