Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the general strategy used CV. Intan Jaya Abadi (CV IJA) conditions in the industrial poultry farm in Sukabumi. In particular, this study aims to identify and analyze the marketing strategies of poultry farm on the CV IJA that includes aspects of supply and demand, market share, value added, financial performance, technical marketing and marketing costs and preparing the appropriate marketing strategy for managing CV IJA develop animal husbandry and poultry. Method used in this research is descriptive method, that is done to the data problems that exist and the form of research is a case study. Primary data obtained from the questionnaires and interviews with experts (business owners, marketing manager and production manager) and secondary data obtained from financial reports and product marketing company that processed data using the appropriate analysis tool, that is descriptive analysis, analysis internal and external (IE), IE matrix and Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunitis and Threats (SWOT) matrix. Based on the identification and analysis of CV IJA success factors have remained so stable and growing among; supply and demand still high, the scope of local market still Java (90%) and West Java (10%) but can increase sales turnover, value added form of the plan companies to build the future with chicken slaughter house (RPA), the financial condition of both structures (liquid, solvable and profitable), the company has been making efficiency, the company obtained from the daily old chiken (DOC) it self, the company continues to invest to expand production capacity. Based on the analysis of marketing strategies that have been done using IE matrix, the position of marketing poultry products and eggs in the CV IJA Sukabumi is located on the quadrant II (grow and build), has the strength and the opportunities greater than the weaknesses and threat, marketing strategy and CV IJA still relevant to the environmental changes at this time. Applied strategy in the future a strategy of intensive growth or aggressive (Growth Oriented Strategy) with the strength to take advantage of the opportunities through the maintenance of product quality, production capacity, the development of scale and increase the availability of raw materials. Based on the SWOT analysis, they are then some alternative strategies provided as follows: (1) maintain and expand existing markets, (2) maintain a commitment to the management of quality products and continue to try the program to all employees, (3) doing the campaign effectively and efficient, (4) Improve the performance of marketing in analyzing the market demand, (5) Maintain and keep the quality product produced to increase customer loyalty, (6) increase collaboration with suppliers, (7) maintain the selling price in the market and (8) to improve distribution channels.

Abstract

Generally, small and medium scale industries  (SMI’s) are individual enterprises or a factories which is closed in operating the enterprise by just relying on very limited equity. To sustain the development of the enterprise needs a credit from a bank which is one of the important  source funds of the working of capital for the developing investment capital purchasing of goods capital. In general, the aims of the research is to know the requirements to obtain the credit on a special scale (1) Studying internal and external factors which influence the development of the PT AFI enterprise; (2) Analyzing the development enterprise plan and the importance source of the funds from outside in the form of investment credit for increasing the production capacity of PT AFI. Collecting data is conducted by a direct interview with an entrepreneur to look at the process and management policy. In reaching the work of internal factors; (1) general aspects, (2) management aspects, (3) production aspects, (4) marketing aspects, and (5) financial aspects. Where as the analysis methods which are used are: (1) financial analysis: a. liquidity ratio, b. leverage ratio, c. activity ratio, d. rentability ratio, and e. coverage ratio; (2) scoring investment by using the method: a. payback period, b. net present value, c. internal rate of return, and d. profitability index. External data which support the development of the enterprise obtained from the result of the research which covered laws, president instruction, regulation from the government institution that is Bank Indonesia and reading materials, for example, literature, report, internet and the result from scholarly paper.  Based on the result of the research showed external factors, for example increasing capacity of people’s purchasing because of price increase of oil  cost had begun to decrease and the market opportunity still opened because the feed requirement is still big. Internal factors showed positive development. They are: (1) Financial analysis which is based on the result of selling data for the last five years, it obtained financial prediction, they are among other: a. liquidity ratio 2,23 times complied with minimal requirement, b. leverage ratio 2,01 times, complied with maximal requirement, c. activity ratio showed positive trend, d. rentability ratio showed positive trend, and e. coverage ratio showed positive trend; (2) Whereas based on the scoring the result obtained, they are: a. payback period 4 years 3 months, b. net present value > 0, meaning the proper project, c. internal rate of return > rate of return meaning proper project, and d. profitability index > 1, meaning feasible project. Whereas based on the sensitivity analysis assuming that the sale decreased 10%; production decreased 10% and the general sale cost and administration increased 2%, turning out that it hasn’t influence the project feasibility sensitivity yet. All this condition will certainly  become positive value for a bank which in conducting its enterprise requires a risk management application so that it will operated more prudential, especially avoiding the payment failure risk from counterparty

Abstract

The District of Bogor has potency as a human resources for shoes industry. Ciomas district is one of the central of shoes industry in Bogor. With all the potencies, the shoes industry is potential to be developed as one of export commodities. However, in reality, it is hard to grow because of some constraints, such as marketing and financial factors. The aim this research is : (1) to identify shoes industry in Ciomas Sub district, (2) to identify internal and external factor, (3) to formulate industrial expansion strategy of shoes in Ciomas Sub district. Research was executed in some small shoes industries at Ciomas Sub district in Bogor District. The data were collected from April to July 2008 including primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through field survey, interview with the owner of shoes industry and raw material supplier, while secondary data were obtained through book studying, related document and institution report. Information data of small industry were analyzed by using descriptive analysis, while quantitative data were analyzed by using IFE (Internal Factor Evaluation) Matrix, EFE (External Factor Evaluation) Matrix, IE (Internal External) Matrix, SWOT (Strength-Weakness-Opportunities-Threats) Matrix, and QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix). Small industry (IK) of self-supporting business shoes of Ciomas is a “CV” form having its own financial capital without existence of partnership with number of labors ranges from 6-12 stripper and established for 5-10 years. It does not depend on collector, either raw material or marketing. Small industry of shoes worker Ciomas is a workshop doing cooperation with collector in procuring financial capital, production order and marketing. The number of labors which were employed by IK worker less than 6 people and established for less than 5 year. The strategy that can be applied by self-supporting business was balancing quality and showing up its characteristic to anticipate business emulation, extending market share in other big towns of Indonesia using promotion media, innovation and various product to increase selling price by utilizing technology, working with banking to develop business, introducing trade mark to promote product, having collaboration with related government or institution to increase managerial ability, monetary management and marketing, handling all production process to increase profit, using technology to increase production and extends market share. The strategy that can be applied by IK worker was searching other capital sources to decrease the dependency to wholesaler, having collaboration with related government or institution to increase managerial ability, monetary management and marketing, balancing quality and showing up its characteristic to anticipate business emulation, introducing trade mark to promote product, innovating various product to increase selling price by utilizing technology, producing qualified products and intensive in searching opportunity to sell product, apart from collector.

Abstract

The food industry is generally growing with the increase of production capacity is the addition of engine capacity, the addition of human resources caused by the existing production capacity is not sufficient. The purpose of this study were to (1) analyze the feasibility of trading; (2) analyze and evaluate the factors that affect the internal and external business continuity trade; (3) Recommending priorities marketing strategies. The method of collecting the data in this study were collected through observations and interviews. Feasibility study with the financial ratio approach, such as PBP, B/C Ratio, NPV and IRR. The data obtained were analyzed by using the matrix IFE, EFE, IE, SWOT and QSPM. The result of the financial feasibility analysis shows that the PBP for 2.3 years (approximately 27 months), net B/C ratio of more than one (1.75), at a discount rate of 9.2% obtained a value of Rp747.79 millions positive NPV, IRR amounted to 33.60% higher discount rate as required by 9.2%. This indicates that PD snack business. Sinar Berlian financially feasible. Results of identification and evaluation of the factors of strategy, IFE values obtained at 2.776 and 2.677 for the value of EFE. The combination of these two values in the matrix indicates that the marketing strategy lies in the quadrant of the five, namely the growth and stability. The strategies that can be run, ie market penetration, product development and market. Based on calculations derived QSP matrix of the most attractive strategy to be applied is Marketing Aspect which is expanding market share in major Indonesian cities by utilizing the media campaign

Abstract

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) is one of a growing economic activity and income real contribution to society. There are variety of products, qualities level and quantities they made. SMEs with good quality product and affordable price is choosen by society. This research is aimed to identify the level of quality managemet applications in SMEs. Data collection techniques with census method, using the tools of the questionnaire is enclosed with a Likert scale (1-5) in the form of verbal categories strongly agree-strongly disagree. Data were analyzed descriptively to look at consumer perceptions of the statements in the questionnaire with the Technique Criteria Range. To find out the company's performance using the BSC. The research showed that the quality management has been perceived to be well implemented by company owner, employee, consumer and distributor.  The result and analysis for ChiDe Wrought Iron Design using BSC method show: (1) financial aspect is healthy showed by rentability, liquidity and solvability ratio above 100%; (2) customer perspective showed from enterprise capability to maintain customer 8 out of 13 (61,5%) has been loyal for 3 years; (3) internal business process is quite good from stand poin of innovation capability and operation. After sale service were not carried out carefully; (4) organization learn and growth is stated by employees satisfaction is quite good (96%). As small as ChiDe Wrought Iron Design SMEs ISO 9000 seems not important to be implemented, basic reason for the thought are the consumer doesn’t require ISO 9000 certifications as guarantee for good quality. The most important thing and need to be developed by company is the commitment to quality product (realibility of the product), efficiency, effectivity, productivity and continuous improvement of production process

Abstract

Partnership program is a program aimed to increase the ability of small businesses to be resilient and self-sufficient through the use of funds less than 1%-2% of net profit. Partnership program has targeted in small business in the company’s region area which has been doing the business activities for at least 1 year, owning prospects to be developed and not yet having sufficient collateral to obtain bank credit and and has turnover below 200 million. PT Sucofindo (Persero) is a State-owned Business which gives loans to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through the Program of Partnership and Environment Management. The aim of this study was to analyze: (1) financial profit margin ratio, ROTA, ROE, the circulation of work capital, (2) the changes of turnover, and (3) the changes of labours before and after the partnership loan program to the SME. The study was conducted from April to July 2011 in Jabotabek. Primary data was collected from questioner, interviews and observation, secondary data was collected from literature such as journals, magazines and books. The object was SME that has received the loan from Program of Partnership and Environment Management within 1 to 3 years. The results showed that there was an increase in the measures of SME financial performance, namely: (1) Profit Margin (PM), (2) ROTA, (3) ROE, (4) WCT, (5) Sales and (6) Labours. The conclusion of this study was that PT Sucofindo (Persero) should socialize the procedure to reach the facility of the credit of work capital to the SME.

Abstract

One of the main factor which contributes why coastal communities cannot improve their economy is low capital. This is because they have limited access to capital and it might be true that bank give limited credit facilities to fisheries stakeholders. The objectives of this research are to: (1) identify the implementation process of Grameen Bank credit scheme from Lembaga Ekonomi Pengembangan Pesisir Mikro Mina Tani (LEPP-M3) Tuban cooperative; (2) identify constrains faced in giving credit on Grameen Bank scheme; (3) identify benefit offered in giving credit on Grameen Bank scheme; and (4) analyse the impact of giving credit on Grameen Bank scheme on coastal communities income. The sampling technique used is Cluster Sampling technique. Descriptive Statistics, Multiple Linear Regression Analysis and Hypothesis Testing have been carried out to answer the research objective. These Statistics and Analysis have been done to find out the level of knowledge of all members, the level of program implementation and the level of benefits received by members. Meanwhile, the Hypothesis Testing is used to find out the absolute effects in net income of small enterprises before and after Grameen Bank credit scheme has been given. This effects is analysed paired t-test. The results show that the level of knowledge of the members to the LEPP-M3 Cooperative of Grameen Bank scheme is very good. The implementation of Grameen Bank scheme helps greatly the communities in improving their business with reasonable requirements that are not burden to its members. Furthermore, another benefit of Grameen Bank lending scheme for their members is to raise their capital with credit facilities, and they are also accustomed to saving. In installment payments, members do not have to go to the cooperatives LEPP-M3, but cooperative management will visit a weekly meeting place which has been determined. Meanwhile, the results of Paired Samples Test indicate that there a positive correlation between the income of small enterprises before and after Grameen Bank Program. This means that by Grameen Bank scheme from the LEPP-M3 Cooperative Tuban, the income of small businesses increase

Abstract

Pecel Lele Lela Restaurant branches Pinangranti  is a restaurant that first presents the traditional Deep-fried Catfish food menu into a unique concept with modern restaurant management. This Research aims to (1) find out feasibility, (2) understand the marketing mix of services and assessments of consumer againt services marketing mix so far applied,  (3) analysis the  factors of internal and external environment that affect marketing strategies, and (4) establish  the  priority of alternative marketing strategies that can be  applied. Sampling technique in this research is purposive sampling. The method used in this research is descriptive method that focuses on invesment and business development aspect, as well as NPV, B/C, PBP, IRR, SWOT and QSPM analysis. Based on financial criteria feasibility on discount rate of 6% NPV Rp2.535.752.046. Net B/C 4,22. IRR 21,34% (IRR > 6%).The return on investment (PBP) which is based on the value of now with the discount rate of 6% are 1.81. It means that the restaurant pecel lele lela branch Pinangranti, East Jakarta worthy to be implemented.The resulted total scores value of both Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) and External Factor Evaluation (EFE) were respectively 2,543 and 2,310 which puts the position on quadrant V, which hold and maintain. Abstract

Horticulture is one of the agriculture sub-sector which is potential to be developed, because it has quite high economic value and added value compared to other commodities. One of horticultural commodity namely potato (Solanum Tuberosum) is a vegetable, which has an important role to fulfill food needs. Potato has potential and good prospect to support food diversification program in order to achieve sustainable food security. Potato commodity is one of the best commodities in Banjarnegara district. The study was aimed to (1) identify factors, that effect the agribusiness development of potato commodity through management resource approach in Banjarnegara district, (2) formulate agribusiness development strategy of potato commodity in Banjarnegara district and (3) determine the priority of alternative strategy for the agribusiness development of potato commodity in Banjarnegara district. Based on prospective analysis that there are 10 factors that effect the agribusiness development of potato commodity in Banjarnegara district. Agribusiness development strategy of potato commodity through management resource approach in Banjarnegara district is based on scenarios that the agribusiness will grow in the future. Based on AHP, the most influential factor in formulating agribusiness development strategy of potato commodity in Banjarnegara district is productivity.Key words: strategy development, agribusiness, potato, prospective analysis, analytical hierarchy process

Abstract

Although the footwear industry is one sector of the small and medium industries which supported by the government, but the development of the industry is still relatively low. Various government policies have been made related to export and import settings, however the policies do not seem to provide significant benefits to the national development of the footwear industry. The condition is further exacerbated by the implementation of CAFTA (China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement) in Indonesia.  The lack of preparedness of local industry in the face of Chinese products in the country is feared to suppress the competitiveness of local products become increasingly weak. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to analyze the factors that influence the development efforts of small and household footwear industries and to analyze the effect of CAFTA on the sustainability of small and household footwear industries. The research was conducted in Bogor (district  and city) which is a center of footwear industry in Indonesia. The respondent of the study consists of the leading small and household industries   taken by purposive sampling with 100 respondents. Data were analyzed using the statistical descripitive and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Based on SEM analysis, the results indicate that efforts to develop small and household footwear industries directly affected by motivation efforts of the entrepreneurs in this industry and the government policies that facilitate the entrepreneurs in this industry.  Increasing the development of business sustainability is also directly influenced by the characteristics of the entrepreneurs who are able to optimize productivity and the CAFTA implementation which is responded by good competitiveness from the local industry.
