Abstract

The coconut sugar industry in Indragiri Hilir Regency shows good potential due to the high demand for coconut sugar products. However, this potential has not been optimally utilized and there is still low interest from farmers to be involved in this industry, even though the availability of raw materials is very abundant. This study aims to analyze the added value of coconut sugar production between tenant farmers and owner farmers using the Hayami method and formulate development strategies for the coconut sugar industry to improve the regional economy through SWOT and QSPM analysis. This research plays an important role in encouraging the development of the coconut sugar industry as a coconut-derived product that can increase community income and local economic growth. Increase community income and local economic growth.   Data collection methods used include surveys, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and literature studies. The results show that with a scheme of 50 coconut trees, each liter of coconut sap generates an added value of IDR 2,794 (71.93%) in the leased coconut system and IDR 3,318 (85.44%) in the owned coconut system. Average monthly production is 462.69 kg, requiring 2,382.69 liters of nira, with profits reaching Rp 2,046 per kg (leased) and Rp 2,571 per kg (owned). The development of the coconut sugar industry is in the “Grow and Build” phase, and although it has high growth potential, there are still several challenges to be faced, including limitations in distribution, infrastructure, and capital. The findings of this study can be applied in local government policies through the preparation of coconut product regulations, integration of the One Village One Product (OVOP) concept in village programs, facilitation of business groups and training by relevant agencies, support for product diversification (liquid sugar and ant sugar) through MSMEs, and promotion of local product branding to increase competitiveness in national and export markets.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are described as follows: (1) To examine the conditions of social, economic and demographic characteristics of poor farmer families who live at uplands and lowlands areas, (2) to describe the social-cultural and agroecosystem conditions of poor farmer families who live at uplands and lowlands areas, (3) To explain type of gender relations of poor farmer families who live at uplands and lowlands areas, and (4) to analyze factors that influenced subjective family well-being of poor farmer families who live at uplands and lowlands areas. The chosen research sites were Nanggung Sub-district, Bogor District as an upland area, and West Teluk Jambe Sub-district, Karawang District, West Java Province as a lowland area. The total of 189 farmer families was used for this study (n= 90 in uplands district areas, and n= 99 in lowlands district areas). It was found that the conditions of social-cultural and agroecosystem differ between upland and lowland areas. In general, both upland and lowland areas gender roles on farming activities, in terms of access and control to agricultural resources, were dominated by men. Family well-being was directly influenced by higher education of husband and wife, indirectly influenced by less economic pressure of the family, directly influenced by higher gender relations between husband and wife, and directly influenced by less or higher external support. Thus, wealthy farmer families were the family that had educated husband and wife, less economic pressures, equal gender relations and partnerships, and less or more receive external supports. It is recommended that the next study should add variables of family coping strategies related to family economic pressure and gender roles between husband and wife.

Abstract

The Family Quality Index (IKK) measures the success of family development in Indonesia, and can be used as a basis for planning and indicators of successful family development at the central, provincial/regional, and regency/city levels. The objectives of the study were to analyze (1) the Cronbach’s alpha reliability test and the content validity of IKK indicators, (2) the achievements of IKK at the provincial and national levels, and (3) the relationship between indicators and dimensions of IKK. The research method is a quantitative analysis of BPS secondary data for 2021. Cronbach’s alpha was 0.50, and content validity was between 0.03 and 0.77. The provincial IKK score in 2021 range from 65.16 to 76.80, with a national achievement score of 73.43. Three provinces were included in category 3, namely "quality of gender-responsive families" and 31 other provinces were included in category 2, namely "quality of sufficiently gender-responsive families.” There were positive relationships between the dimensions of structural legality and socio-psychological resilience and between the dimensions of structural legality and sociocultural resilience. Furthermore, there were positive relationships between the dimensions of physical resilience and economic resilience, and between the dimensions of physical resilience and sociocultural resilience. The research implications showed that the potential problems of families at the provincial level were used as inputs in preparing action plans at the national and provincial levels.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has transformed the marketing landscape and consumer behavior, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic. Indonesian consumers increasingly engage in online shopping, with a significant surge on e-commerce platforms. Fashion products have become one of the most dominant categories, now serving as both a lifestyle and psychological need, driving impulsive purchases. E-commerce platforms employ aggressive promotional strategies such as discounts and free shipping to attract buyers. In response to these changes, businesses must adopt a deeper understanding of consumer behavior through approaches like the Theory of Planned Behavior, including consideration of religiosity as a factor influencing impulsive buying tendencies. This research aims to analyze the influence of attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and religiosity on impulsive buying intention, as well as the impact of impulsive buying intention on impulsive buying behavior. The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) serves as the theoretical foundation, with religiosity included as a moderating variable. The study employs Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to examine the relationships between attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, religiosity, impulsive buying intention, and impulsive buying behavior. This technique is chosen for its ability to explain variable variance and simultaneously assess both measurement and structural models. Data were collected through an online survey targeting muslim millennials in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek) who actively purchase fashion products through e-commerce.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of market orientation and entrepreneurial marketing on market performance, as well as the effect of entrepreneurial marketing and market performance on business sustainability of bag craft micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This study was conducted using a descriptive-quantitative method, with eighty bag craft entrepreneurs serving as research participants. Questionnaires were used to collect data from the research participants over a period of thirty days. The data was analyzed using descriptive analysis and the structural equation modeling-partial least square (SEM-PLS). The results show that the market orientation and entrepreneurial marketing have a significant effect on the market performance, and so does the market performance on the business sustainability. However, the entrepreneurial marketing has no significant effect on the business sustainability. These findings imply that both market orientation and entrepreneurial marketing are essential determinants of the market orientation. Thus, the bag craft entrepreneurs must address these issues.JEL: M30, M31.

Abstract

Well-being of family and child can help them to deal with problems that occur in their lives. The main objectives of the study were to analyze using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) on the examination of the effect of family characteristics and child-parents relations on family and child subjective well-being. This was a census method and a descriptive cross-sectional study design. This study was conducted on highland farmer families living in Cianjur Regency as a typical rural family and the sub-urban of Bogor City boundary as a typical sub urban family. Samples of this study amounted to 203 families consisting of 99 families with males and 104 families with females who were examined through the census method in selected primary schools. There was no significantly difference between the reports of children and mothers to the variables of child and parent relations. However, there was a significantly difference between the child's and mother's reports to the subjective well-being variable with the condition that the child reports higher in subjective well-being for both material and non-material well-being compared to his/her mother's report. The results showed that gender latent variables directly influence the latent variable of child-parent relations. Finally, the latent variable of child-parent relationship had a direct effect on the latent variable of family and children's subjective well-being for both material and non-material.
