Abstract

The availability of drugs needs to be guaranteed to meet the needs of patients both in terms of quantity and type. This can be realized if drug management in the hospital is carried out effectively and efficiently. Factors that influence this include the suitability of planning methods, drug procurement, availability of e-catalog, good human resource competence, and budget adequacy. The challenges in the COVID-19 pandemic situation in 2020 are activity restrictions that affect the distribution of drugs and raw materials while the demand for drugs increases. This study aims to analyze the level of drug availability before the pandemic and during the COVID-19 pandemic at the Bali Mandara Provincial General Hospital. This study was conducted from September to December 2023 using a quantitative approach. Data were collected retrospectively using stocks, and drug procurement from 2019 to 2022. The results showed no incidents of poor drug stocks in 2019-2022. However, there was an increase in the percentage of safe category for the needs of 12-18 months from 2019 to 2022 by 42.5%, 44.4%, 69.1%, and 65.7%, respectively. There are still excessive stocks above 18 months although the percentage is decreasing at 37.9%, 26.2%, 21.6%, and 28.8%, respectively. The decrease in drug items with availability levels of more than 60 months was 15.7%, 8.6%, 7.0%, and 4.1%, respectively. There were expired drugs before and during the COVID-19 pandemic but the value of expired items decreased from Rp. 370,221,269.27 in 2019 to Rp.93,787,747.28 in 2022. Conclusion: The Hospital Pharmacy Department can fulfill the need for drugs before and during the COVID-19 pandemic, indicated by no incidents of drug shortages. However, it is necessary to manage drugs more efficiently, because there are still drugs without use in a year and expired drugs, although the percentage has decreased during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) are increasingly recognized as vital tools for enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and quality of healthcare delivery. Despite regulatory mandates in Indonesia, the adoption of EMRs remains uneven, particularly in rural healthcare settings. This study applied the Unified Theory of Acceptance and apply of Technology (UTAUT) to investigate the behavioral intention of healthcare professionals working in private hospitals to use electronic medical records. A quantitative, cross-sectional design was implemented involving 90 participants selected through purposive sampling in an Indonesian hospital. The study's data were gathered between October 2024 and January 2025 using a validated 18-item UTAUT-based questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted with SPSS and SmartPLS software. Results indicated that all four UTAUT construct – Performance Expectancy (β = 0.200, p = 0.016), Effort Expectancy (β = 0.353, p < 0.001), Social Influence (β = 0.291, p < 0.001), and Facilitating Conditions (β = 0.262, p = 0.008 – had statistically significant positive effects on Behavioral Intention. The model demonstrated moderate explanatory power (R² = 0.655) and strong predictive relevance (Q² = 0.512). These results validate the UTAUT model's suitability in this context and provide practical insights for strengthening EMR implementation strategies. Future research should consider longitudinal approaches and multi-site comparisons to enhance generalizability and policy relevance.

Abstract

Audit Report Lag (ARL) refers to the interval between the end of a financial reporting period and the release of audited financial statements. Timeliness in audit reporting plays a crucial role in improving the relevance of financial information, strengthening transparency, and fostering stakeholder trust. This study investigates the extent to which firm size, profitability, leverage, audit committee meeting frequency, and accounting complexity contribute to variations in ARL. A quantitative research design was employed using secondary data extracted from annual reports of property and real estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2020 to 2022. Using purposive sampling, 75 firm-year observations were analyzed. Multiple regression performed in SPSS 25 indicates that profitability and the frequency of audit committee meetings are associated with shorter ARL. Meanwhile, firm size, leverage, and accounting complexity do not exhibit significant relationships with ARL. These results contribute to agency theory and corporate governance scholarship by emphasizing governance-related mechanisms that facilitate more efficient audit completion

Abstract

Background: Indonesia started establishing national health insurance in 2014. Implementation of Indonesian national health insurance has frequent gaps between health expenditures based on hospital tariffs and the INA-CBG tariffObjectives: This review was aimed to compare the hospital tariff of healthcare to the INA-CBGs tariff and to identify the factors contributing to the actual cost. Methods: Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology followed in this research. The keywords "Real Cost and INA CBG'S" were used in Google Scholar, and the keywords "INA CBG'S AND REAL COST" on Pubmed, ScienceDirect, and Scopus between 2014 and 2022.Results: A total of 634 records were found through database searching of Google Scholar (594), Pubmed (1), ScienceDirect (36), and Scopus (3). After the screening process, 24 articles were included in the review. It was found that 13 articles (54.16%) showed a lower hospital tariff than INA CBG's tariff, while 11 articles (45.84%) showed a higher hospital tariff than INA CBG's tariff. The main factors affecting the gaps of hospital tariff versus INA CBGs tariff mentioned in the articles were LOS, severity, and hospitality class. Conclusion: The literature of this review found hospital rates are higher with rates of INA-CBGs in many hospitals, so it requires a review of rates and an efficient strategy of hospitals.

Abstract

Background: Pharmacists play a crucial role in patient care, often serving as primary sources of medication information. Psychotropic drugs require careful management due to their impact on the central nervous system and potential risks. However, pharmacists' knowledge of psychotropic drug administration varies, with gaps identified in understanding specific psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia and ADHD. Training and continuous education are essential to enhance pharmacists' competency in psychotropic pharmacotherapy. This study aims to assess pharmacists' knowledge and attitudes toward psychotropic medications and to identify areas for improvement to optimise mental healthcare services.Method: A systematic review was conducted using the PRISMA method, using literature from Scopus, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and SpringerLink. The inclusion criteria focused on studies published between 2020 and 2024 that examined pharmacists' knowledge and practices in the administration of psychotropic drugs. Six relevant articles were analysed.Result:  The findings indicate that pharmacists generally have positive attitudes toward patients with mental health conditions. However, their knowledge of psychotropic medications, especially in terms of proper administration, side effects, and treatment adherence, remains insufficient. Key barriers include a lack of formal training, limited continuing education, and weak regulatory frameworks. Conclusion: To improve pharmacists' role in psychotropic medication management, structured training programs, stricter regulations, and continuous professional education are needed. These measures will enhance pharmacists' competency and improve patient outcomes in mental healthcare.
