Abstract

This bibliometric study investigates the intersection of character education management and local wisdom, highlighting trends, patterns, and key areas of research from 1997 to 2024. Utilizing comprehensive databases, specifically Scopus, we analyzed 144 scholarly articles, citations, and keywords to map the evolution and impact of these topics in the educational field. The findings reveal a growing interest in integrating local cultural values within character education frameworks, underscoring the significance of contextualized learning in fostering moral and ethical development. Key publications such influential authors, and predominant countries contributing to this discourse, particularly Indonesia, are identified, providing a holistic overview of the current landscape. Co-authorship networks and keyword co-occurrence were visualized using VOSviewer and R Studio Biblioshiny, revealing collaboration patterns and common research themes such as "local wisdom," "character education," and "local knowledge". The potential for future research in the integration of character education and local wisdom is vast, particularly for Indonesian researchers who are already leading in this field. By developing and testing new curricula, focusing on the transition to higher education, fostering international collaborations, and exploring the holistic impact of character education, researchers can contribute significantly to the development of educational practices that nurture well-rounded and culturally aware graduates

Abstract

This study aims to explore how environmental leadership in Islamic boarding schools plays a role in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the integration of Islamic spiritual values, sustainable education, and technological innovation. The global environmental crisis and the urgency of implementing the SDGs demand educational innovations that can combine ecological awareness, spirituality, and environmentally friendly technology. Pesantren, as a community-based Islamic educational institution, has great potential in shaping the character of students who are not only religious but also care about environmental sustainability. However, research on the role of pesantren in supporting the sustainability agenda is still limited. Using a qualitative approach and an exploratory descriptive design, this study collects data through semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and documentation involving leaders, teachers, and students at Al Ashriyyah Nurul Iman Ecopesantren. The results of the study show that environmental leadership in Islamic boarding schools contributes to SDG3 through organic agriculture and ecology-based sanitation, SDG4 with a spiritual and environment-based curriculum, and SDG5 through women's empowerment in environmental leadership. In addition, SDG6 and SDG7 are realized with environmentally friendly technologies such as biogas, solar panels, and reverse osmosis systems, while SDG17 is strengthened by global and local collaborations. Although this study has limitations in geographical scope and long-term impact exploration, the results enrich the discussion on the integration of environmental education in pesantren and provide recommendations for the Islamic education system in supporting sustainable development.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes in various aspects of life, including the education sector. Digital transformation encourages schools to adapt to technological advances in order to remain relevant and able to meet the demands of the times. In this case, digital leadership has an important role, not only in utilizing technology, but also in creating an interactive and responsive learning environment. This study aims to explore the impact of digital leadership on school organizational performance, with a focus on increasing student engagement, collaboration between teachers, students, and parents, and teacher professional development. Through bibliometric analysis and data visualization, the findings show that leaders who are effective in adopting digital technology can improve teaching effectiveness and academic outcomes. This study provides new insights into the importance of digital leadership in an educational context, as well as recommendations for further research in the area of digital leadership in efforts to improve organizational performance.
