Abstract

So far, the evaluation of writing instruction has not fully considered comprehensive assessment aspects, causing students to struggle in effectively expressing their ideas in writing. Meanwhile, writing skills have become a crucial necessity in today’s era of technological advancement. This study aims to describe the implementation process and evaluation results of the CIPP model in learning writing skills in grade X at SMK Negeri 1 Purworejo for the 2024/2025 academic year. The research was conducted using a qualitative case study approach. Data collection techniques included literature review, observation, and note-taking. The literature review involved analyzing lesson plans designed by teachers, observation was conducted during learning activities, and note-taking was used to document findings from the observations. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results were presented narratively, accompanied by tables and diagrams. The findings indicate a gap between planning and implementation in the evaluation process, yet the average writing skill scores demonstrate success. These findings highlight the importance of evaluation in learning to enhance effective writing skill development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi perbandingan antara puisi "Seplawan" karya Anis Rofiqoh dan novel "Rengganis Altitude 3088" karya Azzura Dayana. Dengan menyoroti fakta bahwa kedua karya tersebut memiliki tema yang serupa, seperti keindahan alam dan perjuangan manusia, penelitian ini mencoba untuk mengisi kesenjangan dalam literatur mengenai perbandingan antara jenis karya sastra yang berbeda. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis intertekstual Julia Kristeva, dengan fokus pada identifikasi persamaan dan perbedaan antara dua karya tersebut. Data dari penelitian ini adalah kutipan puisi “Seplawan” karya Anis Rofiqoh dan kutipan novel Rengganis Altitude 3088 karya Azzura Dayama. Sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah puisi “Seplawan” karya Anis Rofiqoh yang termuat dalam antologi puisi Kaloka Tanah Pusaka yang terbit pada tahun 2020 dan novel Rengganis Altitude 3088 karya Azzura Dayana yang terbit pada 2014 dari penerbit Indiva.Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pustaka yang menggunakan pendekatan objektif dengan analisis intertekstual oleh Julia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun memiliki tema yang mirip, bentuk karya, latar tempat, dan pesan yang disampaikan memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan. Kata kunci: intertekstualitas, puisi, dan novel

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang dilakukan penulis meemukan bahwa menulis prosedur teks di kelas VII MTs Al-Iman 02 Bulus lebih banyak disajikan menggunakan metode ceramah dan pengugasan, sehingga siswa cepat merasa bosan dengan materi yang diajarkan. Hal itu membuat siswa pasif dan tidak aktif dalam kelas, akibatnya banyak siswa yang ngobrol sendiri, bermain, dan ada yag tertidur. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara terhadap Bapak Rafifidiato, S.Pd selaku guru Bahasa Indonesia kelas VII, terbukti dengan hasil penulisan teks prosedur pada siswa kelas VII MTs Al-Iman 02 Bulus masih belum mencapai KKM, yakni 75. Hal itu menyebabkan model pembelajaran yang tergolong masih monoton sehingga siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam mengekspresikan apa yang siswa pikirkan dalam bentuk tulisan. Penelitian ini merupakan tindakan kelas (PTK). Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan (1) proses pembelajaran menulis teks prosedur dengan model quantum learning pada siswa kelas VII MTs Al-Iman 02 Bulus, (2) peningkatan keterampilan menulis teks prosedur dengan model quantum learning pada siswa kelas VII MTs Al-Iman 02 Bulus. Proses belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis teks prosedur pada prasiklus belum menggunakan model quantum learning dan pada siklus I dan siklus II penulis menggunakan model quantum learning terbukti menjadi lebih baik, dilhat dari hasil pengamatan atau observasi pada prasiklus ke siklus I siswa yang aktif bertanya kepada guru sebanyak 10 siswa atau 27,02% menjadi 20 siswa atau 54,06%, antusias siswa dalam proses pembelajaran sebanyak 12 siswa atau 32,43% menjadi 19 siswa atau 51,35%, siswa mampu mengerjakan tugas yang diberikan sebanyak 14 siswa atau 37,83% menjadi 20 siswa atau 54,06%. Pada siklus II menunjukkan adanya peningkatan siswa, keaktifan siswa bertanya kebada guru sebanyak 30 siswa atau 81,09%, antusias siswa dalam proses pembelajaran sebanyak 33 siswa atau 89,18%, tanggung jawab siswa dalam mengerjakan tugas sebanyak 33 siswa atau 89,18% . Peningkatan keterampilan menulis siswa dapat dilihat dari hasil tes siswa pada tahap prasiklus sampai siklus II dengan rata-rata prasiklus mencapai 50,0, siklus I meningkat menjadi 65,0, dan siklus II meningkat menjadi 79,0.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability to write observational report texts of class X TKP students at SMK Negeri 1 Purworejo, especially in organizing ideas, systematically structuring texts, and using appropriate linguistic rules. This study aims to describe the improvement of the learning process and the ability to write observational report texts through the application of the Mind Mapping strategy. This research is a classroom action research carried out in two cycles, including the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 35 class X TKP students at SMK Negeri 1 Purworejo in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through observation, interviews, writing tests, questionnaires, and documentation. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the study indicate that the application of the Mind Mapping strategy can improve the quality of the learning process, which is characterized by increased interest, motivation, activeness, and involvement of students. In addition, student test results also improved, particularly in content organization, idea development, text structure, and sentence coherence. Therefore, the Mind Mapping strategy is effective as a learning alternative to improve observational report writing skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the representation of women's images in the short story anthology "Women-Winners" by Rahmat Jabaril. A qualitative approach with descriptive methods was used in this study. The object of this study was the short story anthology "Women-Winners" by Rahmat Jabaril, published in 2022. The research data consisted of quotes, phrases, sentences, and paragraphs depicting women's images. Data collection techniques were carried out using reading and note-taking techniques. The research instrument was the researcher herself with the aid of data recording cards. Data analysis was carried out through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the analysis were presented using informal methods. The results showed that the representation of women's images is divided into two main aspects: self-image and social image. Women's self-image encompasses physical and psychological aspects. The physical aspect is shown through biological conditions, body changes due to activity, and physical aging. The psychological aspect depicts women as persistent, independent, responsible, able to accept the realities of life, but also experiencing mental stress and limitations in making life choices. Meanwhile, women's social image encompasses women's roles in the family and society. Within the family, women are portrayed as wives who maintain household harmony, loving mothers, and hardworking figures who provide for their families. In society, women are portrayed as active, independent, and productive individuals capable of contributing to the economy, yet they still face objectification and vulnerability in public spaces.

Abstract

This study was motivated by unengaging learning practices resulting from conventional methods and a lack of innovation in instructional media. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the deep learning-based Articulate Storyline instructional media on the poetry-writing skills and learning interest of 11th-grade students at SMK TKM Teknik Purworejo. This study is a quantitative study using an experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of the 11th-grade Electrical Power Installation class as the experimental group and the 11th-grade Machining class A as the control group. The author conducted data analysis prerequisite tests to determine whether the collected data were normally distributed, homogeneous, and whether there were any significant differences. The findings of this study indicate that there is an effect of the deep learning-based Articulate Storyline on students’ poetry writing skills, with a score difference of 15.68. The results show a significant difference in students’ poetry writing skills between the experimental group and the control group. The deep learning-based Articulate Storyline approach influenced students’ interest in learning, resulting in a 3.73% increase; therefore, this approach can enhance students’ poetry writing skills as well as their interest in learning poetry writing.

Abstract

This study examines the hegemony of power in Tere Liye’s novel Teruslah Bodoh Jangan Pintar and its relevance as teaching material in schools. The research is motivated by the importance of studying hegemony as a form of power relations that operate not only through domination but also through social consent reflected in literary works. The purpose of this study is to describe the forms of power hegemony found in the novel and to explain its relevance as instructional material in schools. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a sociological approach to literature and Antonio Gramsci’s theory of hegemony. The data source is the novel Teruslah Bodoh Jangan Pintar by Tere Liye, while the research data consist of narrative and dialogue excerpts that illustrate hegemonic practices. Data were collected using reading and note-taking techniques, and analyzed through content analysis. The findings reveal that power hegemony in the novel is manifested in four forms: cultural hegemony, ideological hegemony, intellectual hegemony, and state hegemony. These forms depict the efforts of dominant groups to maintain power by shaping social consent and collective awareness. Furthermore, the novel is relevant as teaching material because it contains social, cultural, and ideological values that can foster students’ critical thinking, literary appreciation, and understanding of power relations in society.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the representation of women's existentialism in the novel Tarian Canting by Risa Saraswati from the perspective of Simone de Beauvoir, (2) analyze women's existential strategies of resistance, and (3) examine their relevance to senior high school literature learning. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data consisted of words, phrases, sentences, dialogues, and narratives in the novel, collected through reading and note-taking techniques and analyzed using content analysis. The findings reveal that (1) women in the novel are represented as the Other through gender construction and social oppression, (2) their resistance is expressed through work, intellectual development, social transformation, and transcendence, enabling them to achieve freedom and self-existence, and (3) the novel is relevant to Grade XII Indonesian language and literature learning because it promotes values of equality, responsibility, and self-development that support students' critical thinking, literary appreciation, and character building. Therefore, Tarian Canting can serve as an alternative literary teaching material that is contextual and meaningful in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. Abstract

This study addresses the challenges in creative writing instruction, specifically the low ability of students to process vocabulary and language structures, a lack of critical social awareness, and the prevalence of conventional teacher-centered methods that limit active student engagement. The objective of this research is to examine the differences in creative satire poetry writing abilities between students taught using the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model and those taught using conventional methods, as well as to measure the overall effectiveness of the PjBL model. Utilizing a quantitative approach with a Posttest-Only Control Group Design, this study involved 66 tenth-grade students from MAN Purworejo during the 2025/2026 academic year, divided equally into an experimental group (33 students) and a control group (33 students). Data were gathered through a post-test writing performance instrument evaluated with a validated rubric and analyzed using the Independent Samples T-Test and Cohen’s d effect size formula. The results indicated a statistically significant difference in creative writing performance between the two groups (p = 0.000 < 0.05). The experimental group achieved a significantly higher mean score (86.00) compared to the control group (75.94). Furthermore, the effect size analysis revealed a Cohen’s d coefficient of 1.48, demonstrating that the implementation of Project-Based Learning has a very large positive effect on students’ ability to write creative satire poetry. In conclusion, PjBL serves as a highly effective and innovative instructional model that enhances both high-order thinking and creative writing competencies in secondary language education.
