Abstract

The research analyzes the potential of brain-based learning based on critical thinking on memory and memory. The purpose of this study is to produce a framework of brain-based learning methods, which integrate critical thinking in the learning process to students' memory and memory abilities. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to collect and analyze data. Through literature review, relevant studies are obtained to produce a framework that can be implemented in learning. The findings suggest that brain-based learning, which centers on critical thinking activities, positively affects both memory retention and students' recall abilities. This research emphasizes the importance of incorporating critical thinking strategies into educational practices to improve learning outcomes. In conclusion, this study highlights the significant impact of brain-based learning on memory and recall.

Abstract

This study investigated the influence of the interaction between personality traits and consumer trust in online shopping behavior. The study included 120 subjects who ever did shopping in online shop and and lived in Jakarta. The research conducted at july 2013 employed quantitative approach with the regression analysis. The samples were selected using a nonprobability accidental sampling method. The instrument consisted of two scales: consumers trust and scale of big five personality traits. The result showed, there is significant effect between the big five personality traits toward consumers trust for shopping in online shop. Regression equation obtained: Y = 38,315 + 0,044 X1 + 0,076 X2 + 0,406 X3 + 0,269 X4 + 0,067 X5, which means there is a positive effect between the big five personality traits toward consumers trust for shopping in online shop with the value F = 4,618; p = 0,001 < 0.05 (significant). The amount of effect (Adjustment R Square) to the occurrence of the big five personality traits and consumers trust for shopping in online shop is 0,132 meaning the big five personality traits affect the consumers trust for shopping in online shop by 13,2% and the remaining 86,8% affected by another factors, outside of the big five personality traits.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji pengalaman guru dalam mengimplementasikan pembelajaran berbasis teknologi di sekolah dasar di Indonesia melalui studi naratif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan guru menghadapi berbagai tantangan, seperti kurangnya kesiapan dan dukungan, namun juga melihat peluang untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Selain itu ditemukan juga bahwa guru guru senang sekali jika mereka dapat menerapkan pembelajaran dengan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Selain itu ditemukan juga bahwa pembelajaran yang mengunakan media berbasis teknologi dapat menstumulus berpikir kritis siswa yang sesuai dengan keterampilan abad 21. Temuan ini memberikan implikasi penting untuk meningkatkan kesiapan guru, infrastruktur, dan dukungan dalam rangka mewujudkan pembelajaran berbasis teknologi yang efektif dan bertanggung jawab di sekolah dasar di Indonesia

Abstract

Social skills are essential for everyone to have. The cultivation and development of social skills are essential for children. From an early age, children need to be instilled and developed with social skills to face life in school and society well. The cultivation and development of social skills for children are crucial, considering the changing times that can make children lack social skills. For example, the rapid development of information technology, mobile phones, online games, and other communication media can make a person’s skills, especially children’s, less developed or even decline. Therefore, it is very important to develop social skills for children. Besides parents, teachers and facilitators at school also play a crucial role in developing children’s social skills. However, with this module-shaped instrument, guidance for teachers and facilitators to develop children’s social skills becomes crucial. In this community service, a pilot project will be carried out to guide teachers and facilitators to develop children’s social skills. Teachers and facilitators will dissect and provide input on the guide so that it can be used later according to its purpose to develop children’s social skills.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the different perspectives on the conception of happiness of Indonesians, Indians, and Americans. This study employs an exploratory qualitative approach using thematic data analysis with NVivo 12. Using purposive sampling, individual interviews were conducted with 7 participants aged between 25 to 50 years old. This study discerns divergent themes in happiness among three cultures, with notable similarities between Indonesians and Indians. Both cultures exhibit a pronounced emphasis on social ties and personal development and achievement. Additionally, religious and spiritual practices, positive outlook, and self-expression consistently emerge as significant factors shaping happiness in these cultures. Despite these similarities, each culture showed different contexts. In contrast, Americans showcase distinctive themes, prioritizing nature-connectedness, exploration, and autonomy which includes self-reliance. These findings underscore the pivotal role of cultural context in shaping perspectives on happiness, emphasizing the necessity for culturally tailored interventions to enhance happiness across diverse populations.

Abstract

Abstract The limitation of job opportunities in Indramayu has become one of the reason local citizen prefers to work outside Indramayu which leads to the family strengthening’s issue due to the facts that their children is left-behind with the extendend family during their leaving days. Although the main reason of this condition is for sorting the family financial’s issue, the children will be the one who is strongly affected due to the parental absence. The condition would be more challenging when their kids transformed into an adolescent since major life changing is happening. During the situation, parental presence would be very beneficial for the child however the condition might not be as ideal as it was expected. The “I can take care of myself!” program is presented to improve individual’s independency in taking care of themselves—or self-care. The program was held in SMP Negeri 1 Jatibarang, Indramayu and involved 35 students with no specific criterion. The program was evaluated twice by utilizing short questionnaire forms in order to identify participants’ understanding regarding how to face the major life changing and take care of themselves during adolescence phase. The evaluation found there is a significant different understanding about the strategy of self-care after the program delivered (t=2.478; sig. 0.019). This finding implicates that the training can increase individual’s comprehention in taking care of themselves—which hopefully can increase their independency in self-caring.   Abstrak Terbatasnya kesempatan kerja di Indramayu menjadi alasan masyarakat memilih bekerja di luar Indramayu hingga berdampak pada ketahanan keluarga—terutama ketika anak ditinggalkan bersama anggota keluarga besar lainnya atau disebut juga left-behind children. Meskipun fenomena ini didasari usaha untuk memperbaiki perekonomian keluarga, anak akan sangat terdampak karena kehilangan sosok orang tua. Kondisi ini semakin berisiko ketika anak memasuki usia remaja—yang mana akan membutuhkan pendampingan dari orang tua dalam menghadapi perubahan diri. Pelatihan “I Can Take Care of Myself!” diberikan guna membantu meningkatkan kapasitas kemandirian remaja di Jatibarang, Indramayu melalui psikoedukasi tentang bagaimana menghadapi perubahan dan merawat diri di masa remaja. Pelatihan ini diadakan di SMP Negeri 1 Jatibarang, Indramayu selama satu hari dengan melibatkan 34 siswa tanpa kriteria khusus. Tim pengabdi mengevaluasi pemahaman peserta tentang strategi merawat diri sebelum dan setelah pelaksanaan pelatihan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dalam hal pengetahuan tentang cara merawat diri di masa remaja (t=2.478; sig. 0.019). Temuan ini mengindikasikan pelatihan tersebut mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja dalam merawat diri sehingga remaja di SMPN 1 Jatibarang diharapkan dapat lebih mandiri dalam merawat diri.

Abstract

In the competitive realm of the pharmaceutical industry, maintaining a pool of skilled employees stands as a paramount challenge for ensuring company. This study endeavors to explore the interplay between Perceived Organizational Support (POS) and employee retention rates, specifically emphasizing the concept of employee engagement with a quantitative methodology. The study conducted purposive sampling to survey 212 employees from the private pharmaceutical sector in Jabodetabek, each boasting a minimum tenure of 6 months. The instruments study, adapted for this study, encompassed the Employee Retention instrument (Kyndt et al., 2009), Survey of Perceived Organizational Support (Eisenberger et al., 2020), and Employee Engagement Scale (Shuck et al., 2016). The findings unveil a substantial positive influence of POS on employee retention, contributing to a noteworthy 59%. Furthermore, employee engagement emerged as a pivotal mediating factor in the nexus between POS and employee retention rates, constituting a significant 33.8%. The study's outcomes refute the null hypothesis (Ho) and substantiate the alternative hypothesis (Ha), revealing that the impact of perceived organizational support on employee retention is intricately mediated by employee engagement. In conclusion, this study provides valuable insights and references relevant to organizational support and employee engagement strategies, crucial for retaining skilled personnel within the pharmaceutical industry.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah mendeskripsikan implementasi kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap pengembangan diri mahasiswa semester IV PGSD Universitas Esa Unggul pada mata kuliah Pembelajaran Matematika SD. Sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester IV PGSD Universitas Esa Unggul. Penelitiian ini merupkan penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa: a) Metode observasi lapangan b) Metode wawancara: untuk memperoleh informasi yang dibutuhkan peneliti, dilakukan wawancara dengan bertanya kepada beberapa mahasiswa. c) Metode dokumenter. Metode ini memberikan informasi tentang perangkat pembelajaran pelatih berupa RPP dan tahapan kegiatan kemampuan berpikir kritis yang dilakukan mahasiswa dalam bentuk foto. Salah satu keunggulan kemampuan berpikir kritis adalah mampu memandang suatu hal dari berbagai sisi sehingga tidak terkesan menghakimi. Metode ini menuntut kemampuan mahasiswa untuk meneliti, mengevaluasi, menafsirkan, mensintesis, dan menghasilkan informasi untuk mencapai hasil belajar yang berbeda. Keterampilan berpikir kreatif dapat dikembangkan melalui implementasi kemampuan berpikir kritis. Setiap individu harus mengembangkan dan melatih kemampuan berpikir dengan inovasi. Jenis inovasi yang melekat pada siswa sampai mereka memasuki dunia kerja. Ini membedakan mereka yang memiliki gelar sarjana dari mereka yang tidak kuliah. Kemampuan berpikir kritis membantu mahasiswa untuk memecahkan berbagai masalah yang mereka hadapi saat ini dan di masa yang akan datang.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of the need for cognition and the need for affection towards the intention of spreading fake news. This research used an experimental design by giving the participants some manipulations in the form of fake news. The study examined whether the participant spreads the news provided based on their different need orientations. The results of this study indicate that there was a significant relationship between the need for affection and the need for cognition in terms of spreading false news. This study also investigated the variation of the tendency to spread the news based on both need scores. Although predictions are related to participants who have high or low scores who tend to spread false news, further research is needed.
