Abstract

This study investigates the influence of Perceived Enjoyment and Perceived Originality on Purchase Decision and Affective Customer Engagement among fast-food consumers in Bali, with Positive Word of Mouth as a mediator. Findings show both Perceived Enjoyment and Perceived Originality positively impact PWOM, which subsequently influences Purchase Decision and Affective Customer Engagement. Direct effects were also noted. PWOM strongly mediates the relationship between Perceived Enjoyment and Purchase Decision (VAF 61.9%), but its mediation between Perceived Originality and Affective Customer Engagement is very weak (VAF 13.5%), suggesting other underlying mechanisms. Fast-food producers in Bali should enhance originality and enjoyable experiences to foster PWOM and emotional engagement. The model, though predictively relevant (Q2 = 0.956), explains only a portion of the variance (AVE 61.4%, PWOM 65.5%, PD 66.1%), indicating external factors. Future research should explore these variables and consider qualitative approaches to fully understand complex consumer perceptions. Keywords : perceived enjoyment, consumer experience, fast food, literature review, consumer behavior

Abstract

Bali is known for its strong traditions and culture where women play an important role in defending these values. In the midst of modernization, Generation Z women in Bali, especially in Denpasar City and Badung Regency, face challenges in balancing their roles as workers, wives, mothers, and members of indigenous peoples. This study aims to understand how Balinese women workers who marry at a young age achieve harmony in themselves in the midst of the complexity of multi-role undertaken. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research sample consisted of four Balinese women generation Z who were married and worked in the government, private, or entrepreneurial sectors in Badung Regency and Denpasar City. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, passive participation observations, and documentation, which were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman models with the help of NVivo 14 software. The results of the study show that Balinese female workers experience role conflicts, time conflicts, and behavioral conflicts, which have an impact on work-family conflict and work stress. The main factors that affect this imbalance include triple roles, quarter life crisis, marriage culture shock, and job hopping. To overcome these challenges, the informants apply coping strategies such as work-life balance strategies, role management, time management, outsourcing, and family support. The conclusion of this study confirms that although Balinese women workers strive to achieve harmony within themselves, they still face challenges in fulfilling the aspect of work-life balance. Family support and effective adaptation strategies have an important role in achieving their harmonization of multi-roles.

Abstract

The high work dynamics in the food and beverage industry place coffee shop baristas in Denpasar City under work pressure conditions that have the potential to affect work-life harmony, especially among Generation Z workers. This study aims to describe and analyze the work pressure experienced by baristas, the coping strategies used, and the role of social support and organizational policies in shaping work-life harmony. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of informants selected purposively and snowball, including baristas, coworkers, superiors, and psychology lecturers. Data analysis was conducted thematically through coding, person statement comparison, and node comparison with the help of NVivo software. The results show that barista work pressure mainly occurs during peak operating hours, multitasking demands, and high service standards. Efforts to achieve work-life harmony are carried out through flexible time management, social support in the work environment, positive work interpretation, and organizational policies that pay attention to employee welfare. Theoretically, this research contributes to enriching the understanding of the concept of work-life harmony in the context of Generation Z by linking an individual's ability to control their behavior to the constraints of the work environment as described in Behavioral Constraint Theory. These findings are expected to serve as a practical reference for food and beverage business managers in creating a more harmonious work environment.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the strategies applied by Generation Z employees in achieving holistic well being within a hybrid work environment. Changes in work patterns that combine remote working and on site working provide flexibility, but also create new challenges related to work boundaries, psychological pressure, and work life balance. Generation Z, as a productive age group that grows up in the digital era, has adaptive characteristics but is vulnerable to work stress if it is not supported by appropriate self management strategies. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method to understand the subjective experiences of Generation Z employees in dealing with the dynamics of hybrid work. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and then analyzed thematically. The results of this study are expected to provide an understanding of the forms of personal strategies used by Generation Z employees to maintain balance in physical, mental, social, spiritual, and financial aspects, and to contribute to the development of human resource management studies that focus on employee well-being in the modern work era.
