Abstract

This paper analyzes the impact of the Sidoarjo Governments in fostering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Kampung Logam, Desa Ngingas, Waru, Sidoarjo using the Local Economic Development (LED) framework during the Covid-19 pandemic. Researchers discovered problems delegating tasks within the Department of Industry and Trade where overlapping functions across the industrial area, particularly Ngingas, impede MSME growth. Data were acquired through observations, document analysis, and in-depth interviews utilizing a descriptive qualitative methodology in Sidoarjo and Ngingas Village. Research demonstrates that although policies regarding privatization, demand generation, new firm formation, and transformation methods beneficially impact MSME growth, substantial enhancements in programming are required. This encompasses enhancing industrial technical services, fortifying workforce development, and establishing resilient long-term investment plans to guarantee sustainable growth for MSMEs.

Abstract

The tourism industry is a dynamic economic sector, contributing significantly to the global economy, including in Indonesia. Although it provides economic benefits such as job creation and increased state revenues, negative impacts on the environment and local communities are also found. The concept of sustainable tourism and corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices are in focus to mitigate these impacts. The Melati Bintan Resort case study demonstrates the successful implementation of CSR, focusing on cultural preservation, environmental protection, and community development. The systematic literature review (SLR) method was used to explore the latest trends and practices of CSR in the tourism industry. The results show that CSR can enhance a company's image and attract travelers who care about sustainability. Through the integration of CSR in its operations, Melati Bintan Resort creates positive sustainable impacts, although there is still room for improvement and innovation in achieving broader and more impactful sustainability.

Abstract

The tourism industry in Indonesia has a vital role in the country's economy, but there are still significant problems related to the negligence of service providers that are detrimental to tourists. This study aims to analyze the application of civil law in dealing with the negligence of tourism service providers and evaluate the existing dispute resolution mechanisms. Using a normative-empirical approach, the study found that although consumer protection regulations are already in place, their implementation is still hampered by weak oversight and a lack of legal awareness among tourists. In addition, service providers often use exaggeration clauses that are detrimental to consumers. The study also identified that dispute resolution mechanisms, both litigation and non-litigation, still face various obstacles, such as lengthy procedures and high costs. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening supervision of tourism service providers, as well as reforms in the dispute resolution system by introducing mediation and arbitration as more efficient and cheaper alternatives. In addition, broader legal education to the public regarding their rights as tourism consumers is also considered important to improve legal protection for tourists in Indonesia.

Abstract

This paper investigates the convergence of Instagramability, algorithmic impact, and travel intention using an extensive bibliometric analysis of visual-centric tourism research. Utilizing 350 Scopus-indexed documents published from 2010 to 2025, the analysis employs VOSviewer and Biblioshiny to investigate publication trends, subject clusters, and collaborative networks across authors, institutions, and countries. The results indicate three primary research areas: (1) social media and decision-making, (2) sustainable tourism and destination development, and (3) the psychological and behavioral aspects of travel. The topic has transitioned from traditional examinations of tourist motivation to digitally mediated paradigms that prioritize visual communication, influencer marketing, and algorithmic curation. China, the United States, and the United Kingdom have become important places for people from all over the world to work together. There are also strong intellectual links between Asia and Europe. The study advances theoretical frameworks by amalgamating theories of visual communication, algorithmic mediation, and behavioral intention, while also providing practical guidance for destination marketers and policymakers to enhance digital engagement methods. The study, constrained by its dependence on Scopus data, provides a robust basis for subsequent empirical and computational investigations into the interplay between algorithms and visual culture in shaping contemporary travel behavior.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of service adjustments and interactive tour guides on foreign tourists’ willingness to pay at Bali tourist destinations. The research adopts a quantitative approach using a sample of 150 foreign tourists selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected via structured questionnaires measured with a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using SPSS version 25. Statistical techniques included descriptive analysis, validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression analysis. The findings reveal that both service adjustments and interactive tour guides have significant and positive effects on foreign tourists’ willingness to pay. The regression model shows that these two variables collectively explain 62.1% of the variation in tourists’ willingness to pay. Service adjustments—such as cultural sensitivity, language flexibility, and personalized itineraries—enhance perceived value, while interactive guides contribute to emotional engagement and trust, thereby increasing payment intention. The study provides theoretical contributions by integrating service quality theory, customer value theory, and social exchange theory in explaining tourists’ economic behavior. Practically, it offers strategic insights for tour operators and policymakers to enhance adaptive and interactive service quality to strengthen Bali’s tourism competitiveness and sustainability.
