Abstract

The research question addressed in this research was: Can beginning reading skills in first-grade students of SDN 2 Telaga, Gorontalo Regency, be improved through the use of flipbook media? This research aims to improve beginning reading skills using flipbook media for the first-grade students at SDN 2 Telaga. This research was classroom action research. Data were collected through tests, observations, and documentation. Initial observation revealed that out of 19 students, 15 students (79%) demonstrated poor beginning reading skills. Improvement was observed over the implementation of classroom actions through two meetings in Cycle I and two meetings in Cycle II. In the first meeting of Cycle I, only 6 out of 19 students (32%) showed improvement in beginning reading. In the second meeting of Cycle I, this number increased to 10 students (53%). In the first meeting of Cycle II, 13 students (68%) showed improvement, and by the second meeting of Cycle II, 16 students (84%) had achieved good and accurate beginning reading skills. The findings indicate that the use of flipbook media significantly enhances beginning reading abilities in first-grade students at SDN 2 Telaga, Gorontalo Regency. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca permulaan pada siswa kelas I SDN 2 Telaga, Kabupaten Gorontalo, melalui penggunaan media pembelajaran flipbook. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, dengan setiap siklus terdiri dari dua pertemuan. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi tes hasil belajar, observasi aktivitas siswa, dan dokumentasi selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Berdasarkan observasi awal, diketahui bahwa dari 19 siswa, hanya 4 siswa (21%) yang menunjukkan kemampuan membaca awal, sementara 15 siswa (79%) belum menguasai keterampilan tersebut. Pelaksanaan tindakan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan. Pada siklus I pertemuan pertama, jumlah siswa yang mampu membaca meningkat menjadi 6 orang (32%). Pada pertemuan kedua siklus I, meningkat lagi menjadi 10 siswa (53%). Selanjutnya, pada siklus II pertemuan pertama terdapat 13 siswa (68%) yang mampu membaca dengan baik, dan pada pertemuan kedua meningkat menjadi 16 siswa (84%). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media flipbook efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of fourth grade students of SDN 7 Talaga Jaya, especially in the material of flat shapes. Data from initial observations showed a very low level of learning completion, where only 38% of students were able to achieve the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) of 75. Departing from this problem, this study focuses on testing the effectiveness of web-based learning media. The main objective is to find out whether the application of learning media using Google Sites can be a solution to significantly improve student learning outcomes on the material. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method which is carried out in two cycles. Important stages in this study include planning, implementing actions, observation, and reflection in each cycle. The subjects of the study were fourth grade students, and data were collected through learning outcome test techniques, observation of the learning process, and documentation. The results of the study showed a significant increase in learning outcomes gradually. In cycle I, the percentage of students who achieved learning completion increased to 48%. After the action improvements were made in cycle II, there was a very good spike, where the percentage of student learning completion reached 89%. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of Google Sites web-based learning media has proven to be effective and successful in improving student learning outcomes in flat geometry material. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas IV SDN 7 Talaga Jaya, khususnya pada materi bangun datar. Data pada observasi awal menunjukkan tingkat ketuntasan belajar yang sangat rendah, di mana hanya 38% siswa yang mampu mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) yaitu 75. Berangkat dari permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini berfokus untuk menguji efektivitas media pembelajaran berbasis web. Adapun tujuan utamanya adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan media pembelajaran menggunakan Google Sites dapat menjadi solusi untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi tersebut secara signifikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Tahapan penting dalam penelitian ini meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi pada setiap siklusnya. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV, dan data dikumpulkan melalui teknik tes hasil belajar, observasi proses pembelajaran, serta dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar yang signifikan secara bertahap. Pada siklus I, persentase siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar meningkat menjadi 48%. Setelah dilakukan perbaikan tindakan pada siklus II, terjadi lonjakan yang sangat baik, di mana persentase ketuntasan belajar siswa berhasil mencapai 89%. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan media pembelajaran berbasis web Google Sites terbukti efektif dan berhasil meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi bangun datar.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the poetry writing skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 37 Hulonthalangi, Gorontalo City, through the use of picture media. The research method employed was classroom action research (CAR) involving 15 students as subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and student writing skill tests. In the initial observation, only 3 students (20%) demonstrated the ability to write poetry effectively. Following the implementation of actions during Cycle I, the number of students capable of writing poetry increased to 6 students (40%) in the first meeting and 9 students (60%) in the second meeting. In Cycle II, the students' poetry writing skills continued to improve, with 11 students (74%) achieving proficiency in the first meeting and significantly rising to 13 students (87%) in the second meeting. The results of this study indicate that the use of picture media effectively enhances the poetry writing skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 37 Hulonthalangi, Gorontalo City. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis puisi siswa kelas IV SDN 37 Hulonthalangi Kota Gorontalo melalui penggunaan media gambar. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan subjek sebanyak 15 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang diterapkan meliputi observasi, dokumentasi, dan tes kemampuan menulis siswa. Pada observasi awal, hanya 3 siswa (20%) yang mampu menulis puisi dengan baik. Setelah penerapan tindakan pada siklus I pertemuan 1, jumlah siswa yang mampu menulis puisi meningkat menjadi 6 orang (40%), dan pada pertemuan 2 bertambah menjadi 9 orang (60%). Pada siklus II, kemampuan menulis puisi siswa terus menunjukkan perkembangan, yakni 11 siswa (74%) pada pertemuan 1, dan meningkat signifikan menjadi 13 siswa (87%) pada pertemuan 2. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media gambar secara efektif dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis puisi siswa kelas IV di SDN 37 Hulonthalangi Kota Gorontalo.

Abstract

The problem addressed in this study is: “Can the Mind Mapping model improve short story writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN No. 10 Kota Barat, Gorontalo City?” The purpose of this study is to enhance students’ ability to write short stories using the Mind Mapping model. This research employed a classroom action research method. Data were collected through tests based on four assessment aspects, observation, and documentation. The results showed that in the initial observation, out of 21 students, only 3 students (14%) were able to write short stories, while 18 students (86%) were not. In Cycle I, Meeting I, 8 students (38%) showed the ability to write short stories, while 13 students (62%) did not. In Cycle I, Meeting II, 14 students (67%) demonstrated the ability, and 7 students (33%) did not. In Cycle II, Meeting I, 20 students (95%) were able to write short stories, and only 1 student (5%) was not. Based on the results and discussion, it is concluded that the Mind Mapping model effectively improves the short story writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN No. 10 Kota Barat, Gorontalo City. ABSTRAKMasalah yang disajikan pada penelitian ini adalah “Apakah melalui model Mind Mapping kemampuan menulis cerita pendek siswa kelas V SDN No. 10 Kota Barat Kota Gorontalo meningkat?”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis cerita pendek menggunakan model Mind Mapping pada siswa kelas V SDN No. 10 Kota Barat Kota Gorontalo. Metode yang digunakan dalam ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Untuk pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini melalui tes dengan 4 aspek penilaian, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada observasi awal terdiri dari 21 siswa terdapat 3 siswa atau 14% yang mampu dalam menulis cerita pendek dan 18 siswa atau 86% siswa tidak mampu. Siklus I Pertemuan I dari 21 siswa terdapat 8 siswa atau 38% yang mampu dalam menulis cerita pendek dan 13 atau 62% siswa tidak mampu. Pelaksanaan siklus I pertemuan ke-2 dari 21 siswa terdapat 14 siswa atau 67% yang mampu dalam menulis cerita pendek dan 7 atau 33% siswa yang tidak mampu. Sedangkan pada siklus II pertemuan ke-1 dari 21 siswa terdapat 20 siswa atau 95% yang mampu dalam menulis cerita pendek dan 1 atau 5% siswa yang tidak mampu. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan yang telah dilakukan, disimpulkan bahwa dengan melalui model Mind Mapping kemampuan menulis cerita pendek pada siswa kelas V SDN No. 10 Kota Barat Kota Gorontalo meningkat.

Abstract

The integration of technology in education not only trains learners to think critically and analyze information in depth, but also encourages them to become innovators and problem solvers. Local government and education stakeholders in Banggai district continue to improve teachers competencies in integrating technology in learning through various training programs. This research was conducted in education units in Banggai Regency. In this study, researchers used a type of quantitative research with a survey method. The sampling technique in this study will use cluster sampling technique. The sampling technique resulted in 690 respondents. This study uses the Rasch Model. From the results of the study, it was found that the competence of teachers in integrating technology in the learning process in Banggai Regency in terms of 8 sections obtained an average value from the highest to the lowest consecutively starting from Challenges in Technology Use of 1.57, Technical Skills of 0.43, Technological Knowledge of -0.04, Technological Pedagogical Knowledge of -0.06, Professional Development and Collaboration -0.08, Pedagogical Knowledge of -0.08, Content Knowledge of -0.32, and Effectiveness of Technology Use of -0.71. This indicates that teachers in Banggai district have a fairly high competency to integrate technology in learning

Abstract

This community service project seeks to boost the added value and welfare of maize producers through the creation of corn flour products. Corn flour products have tremendous potential in enhancing the economics of the community, especially corn farmers, by delivering food products manufactured from maize that have wonderful tastes and high nutritious value. In addition, the food products created are very popular and have vast market potential. Through the training and mentoring approach of the IbM activities, the community obtained important information and knowledge, enabling them to create innovation and enterprise in the maize sector. The outcomes of this activity demonstrate that this service program not only enhances the skills and knowledge of the community, but also helps the improvement of their economic wellbeing in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat merupakan bagian integral dari Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, yang melibatkan lembaga, dosen, dan mahasiswa dalam berkontribusi kepada masyarakat. Dalam konteks ini, dilakukan pengabdian melalui edukasi pengolahan sampah organik dan anorganik bagi masyarakat pesisir pantai di kelurahan Leato Selatan untuk mendukung program Kampung Bahari Nusantara (KBN) yang bertujuan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat pesisir pantai. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan pengetahuan, pemahaman, kepedulian, dan keterampilan dalam mengolah sampah, baik organik maupun anorganik. Proses pelaksanaan kegiatan mencakup observasi lokasi pengabdian, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini antara lain adalah: (1) penghasilan produk olahan sampah berupa pupuk organik dan bunga dari plastik, (2) peningkatan pengetahuan dan kepedulian masyarakat terhadap kebersihan lingkungan, dan (3) terbentuknya kelompok ibu-ibu pengolah sampah, terutama dalam pembuatan pupuk dan bunga dari plastik. Terjadi peningkatan persentase pengetahuan di kalangan sasaran, yaitu anak-anak sebesar 82%, remaja sebesar 82%, dan dewasa sebesar 86%. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan peserta pelatihan dalam Pengolahan sampah organik dan anorganik.

Abstract

The Minister of Education and Science and Technology stated that MBKM will be continued with various improvements. The Independent Campus (MBKM) was initiated by the Minister of Education and Culture through the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 3 of 2020 concerning National Standards for Higher Education, especially in articles 18 and 15, aiming to answer the challenges of the capacity of higher education institutions that have not been able to adapt quickly to prepare relevant and quality graduates with the presence of Industry 4.0. Based on this decision, Bina Mandiri University Gorontalo has participated in and run the MBKM program. However, the implementation is still limited so that the scope of implementation is only at one point and then affects the development of unsustainable programs. Related to the MBKM program, undergraduate students of Educational Technology have been trained and are able to design software, one of which is for libraries in schools. This was proven in the implementation of previous research entitled The Impact of MBKM Project-Based Learning on Problem Solving for Undergraduate Students of Educational Technology at Bina Mandiri University, Gorontalo. Considering that the MBKM program is important to run and its sustainability is expected, its implementation is very urgent. In coastal areas, especially schools in Randangan Village, Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo Province, it is known that digitalization in the implementation of education has not been effective, so there needs to be digitalization of library software to support student learning activities outside school hours or on holidays. The purpose of this study is to implement MBKM: a digitalization project and the use of library software in schools in Randangan Village, Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo Province.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low essay writing ability of elementary school students, particularly fourth-grade students at SDN 12 Anggrek, North Gorontalo Regency. Many students still perceive writing as a difficult task due to limited skills in identifying main ideas, organizing storylines, and selecting appropriate vocabulary and sentence structures. To address these challenges, the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model was implemented as an instructional approach that connects learning materials with students’ real-life experiences, thereby making the writing process more meaningful and engaging. The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of the CTL model in improving students’ essay writing skills. The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through essay writing tests, classroom observations, and documentation. The findings revealed a consistent improvement in students’ performance across the cycles. In Cycle I, Meeting I, 6 students (50%) achieved the competency criteria, which increased to 8 students (67%) in Meeting II. In Cycle II, the number of students meeting the criteria rose to 10 students (83%). These results indicate that the CTL model is effective in enhancing the essay writing ability of fourth-grade students at SDN 12 Anggrek. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan menulis karangan pada siswa sekolah dasar, khususnya siswa kelas IV SDN 12 Anggrek Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara. Kegiatan menulis masih dianggap sulit oleh sebagian besar siswa karena keterbatasan dalam menemukan gagasan pokok, menyusun alur cerita, serta memilih kata dan kalimat yang tepat. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, diterapkan model Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) sebagai pendekatan pembelajaran yang mengaitkan materi dengan pengalaman nyata siswa sehingga proses menulis menjadi lebih bermakna. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana penerapan model CTL dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui tes menulis karangan, observasi proses pembelajaran, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan menulis dari setiap siklus. Pada siklus I pertemuan I, sebanyak 6 siswa (50%) mencapai kategori mampu, meningkat menjadi 8 siswa (67%) pada pertemuan II. Pada siklus II, jumlah siswa yang mencapai kategori mampu bertambah menjadi 10 siswa (83%). Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan model CTL efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan siswa kelas IV SDN 12 Anggrek.
