Abstract

The true seed of shallot (TSS) is an alternative technology to boost high-quality seeds, farming cost efficiency, and shallot productivity in Indonesia. Despite the advantages of TSS, including extended shelf life and lower seed requirements, farmer and consumer acceptance remains limited due to the genetic and physiological constraints leading to single and large-sized bulbs, as an effect of low aggregation ability. This caused shallot bulbs from TSS to have a low price and were not suitable for use as seed bulbs. This research addresses challenges in shallot (Allium cepa L. Aggregatum group) production from TSS by investigating the impact of various plant growth regulators (PGRs) treatments and different soaking time on shallot growth and aggregation ability of 'Tuk Tuk' planting from TSS. The study in Yogyakarta employed a split-plot randomized block design from July to November 2018. The main plot varied the PGRs combination (9 treatment), while the subplot used the soaking time of 4 hours and 12 hours. The results indicated that a GA₃ concentration of 100 ppm, in synergy with NAA at 50 ppm for 12 hours, effectively enhanced aggregation compared to another treatment. Notably, the 'Tuk Tuk' shallot, characterized by low aggregation ability, demonstrated improved potential through seed treatment by PGRs, which could raise the number of bulbs from one to an average of two bulbs per plant. This study enhanced shallot aggregation ability, providing valuable insights for research and developing shallot production from true seeds in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and investigate Indonesia's response to the Rohingya refugee crisis and examine its compliance with international law in addressing complex humanitarian challenges while tracing the history of Rohingya refugees in Indonesia since 2017. The research focuses on recent developments, including the surge in refugee arrivals and increasing tensions between newcomers and local residents. This study employs normative juridical research emphasizing a case study approach, utilizing secondary data analyzed qualitatively and presented using descriptive qualitative analysis techniques. The results indicate that Indonesia has principally committed to international law concerning refugees through concrete actions, diplomacy, and dialogue. However, the handling of Rohingya refugees in Indonesia, as regulated by PERPRES 125/2016, does not fully align with international legal principles, particularly the non-refoulement principle of the 1951 Convention. Refugees are considered illegal immigrants with temporary accommodation ending in relocation or repatriation. Further efforts are needed to ensure treatment aligns with human rights norms and provides adequate protection, including the right to employment, which is challenging due to the scarcity of job opportunities for Indonesian citizens themselves.

Abstract

Abstract

In the city of Salatiga, there are five nursing homes: Merbabu Nursing Home, Salib Putih Nursing Home, Menara Berkat Senior Residence, Maria Martha Senior Residence, and Menara Kasih. Each nursing home has a leader and staff who serve in their respective facilities. Most caregivers in these five nursing homes are women, with 59 female caregivers and only 32 male caregivers. The caregivers have the primary responsibility of serving the elderly residents in nursing homes. Some of these elderly residents are bedridden and require care in their beds, while others are blind, unable to walk, deaf, and so on. Given the nature of the caregivers' duties, it is essential to conduct research on the sense of calling among caregivers in nursing homes. Using a descriptive constructive method, the research aims to uncover facts that can build the concept of mindfulness in elderly care services at the nursing homes in Salatiga. The research findings reveal that the concept of mindfulness is shaped by the presence of meaning and values in the sense of calling, morality, responsibility, sincerity, and spirituality. The meaning and values within this calling include the opportunity to serve others, especially the elderly; the moral drive to joyfully serve the elderly; the responsibility toward others and the families of the elderly; sincerity in providing wholehearted care for the elderly; and spirituality, which sees serving the elderly as an act of faith in God.

Abstract

Purpose: This research wants to enrich research that studies the effect of sustainability reporting on company performance, which is still inconsistent. In addition, this study considers the supervisory mechanism factor in the form of institutional ownership to determine whether the effect of sustainability reporting on company performance is different in companies with high institutional ownership and companies with low institutional ownership. Method: The study utilized purposive sampling to select companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) that consistently published both sustainability and financial reports from 2017 to 2020, resulting in a sample of 39 companies. For hypothesis testing, the research employed the STATA 17 software, followed by methods such as descriptive analysis, panel data regression analysis, determination of coefficients, and tests for both simultaneous and partial significance. Result: Sustainability reporting positively influences firm value. This study found that institutional ownership moderates the effect of sustainability reporting on firm value. Future research should focus on examining companies within similar sectors to yield more reliable results concerning how sustainability reports affect firm value, considering the specific characteristics of companies across different industry.

Abstract

From the perspective of government administrative law, the protection of Village Treasury Land due to the village head's negligence is a serious violation of law. Village treasury land is a village asset that must be managed well to improve the welfare of village communities and increase village income. However, village treasury land is often converted and sold unilaterally for personal purposes, such as building a residence or housing built on village treasury land. This is a violation of government administrative law because the management of village treasury land is part of public law, which discusses government power in general and village government in particular. The Village Head, as the holder of management power, must manage the Village Treasury Land based on the Regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia No. 01 of 2016 concerning Village Asset Management. In managing Village Treasury Land, the Village Head must coordinate with the Village Consultative Body (BPD) to improve the welfare of the Village community and increase Village income. Therefore, the protection of Village Treasury Land due to the Village Head's negligence is a violation of government administrative law that must be followed up.
