Abstract

This study investigates the influence of social pressure on the mental health of final-year students at Tadulako University using a quantitative survey design with a saturated sample of 800 participants. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires comprising 20 items on social pressure and 38 items on mental health, and subsequently analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The results indicate that students generally experienced high to very high levels of social pressure, while their mental health also fell within high to very high categories. Regression analysis produced the model Y = 32,782 + 0,422X, with a significance value of 0,000 and t = 1,211, confirming a positive and significant effect of social pressure on mental health. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0,948) demonstrates that social pressure explains 15,7% of the variance in mental health, with the remaining 84,3% attributed to other factors. These findings highlight the need for enhanced social support, counseling, and effective coping strategies to mitigate psychological burdens among final-year students

Abstract

This research investigates the relationship between listening K-Pop music consumption and levels of Self-Love and mental health among students in the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, class of 2021, at Tadulako University. The research participants consisted of 146 students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, a 2021 batch, who actively listened to K-Pop music. Data collection employed adapted questionnaire instruments: a listening K-Pop music consumption questionnaire, a Self-Love scale, and a mental health assessment scale. The research employed a quantitative research methodology with a causal-associative design, utilizing correlation analysis to examine the relationships between variables. The Pearson Product-Moment correlation analysis yielded the following results: The correlation between BTS music consumption (Variable X) and Self-Love (Variable Y1) had a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.483, which is greater than 0.05. Similarly, the correlation between listening K-Pop music consumption (Variable X) and mental health (Variable Y2) yielded a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.877, which is greater than 0.05. Based on these statistical findings, both relationships demonstrate non-significant correlations. For the BTS music and Self-Love variables, the significance value (2-tailed) exceeds 0.05, leading to the rejection of the alternative hypothesis (Ha). which means there is no relationship between listening K-Pop music and Self-Love and mental health____________________________________________________________ Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara intensitas mendengarkan musik K-Pop dengan Self-Love dan kesehatan mental mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan angkatan 2021, subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan angkatan 2021 Universitas Tadulako yang mendengarkan intensitas mendengarkan musik K-Pop. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of consumptive behavior on the learning commitment of KIP-Kuliah scholarship recipients. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings show that consumptive behavior is influenced by discounts, digital advertising, attractive product displays, peer pressure, and low financial literacy. Scholarship funds are often spent on non-academic needs such as clothing, gadgets, and social activities, causing academic needs to be neglected. This condition leads to decreased learning focus, delayed assignments, increased stress, and lower academic motivation. Therefore, consumptive behavior has a negative impact on students’ learning commitment.

Abstract

Nurfadillah, 2026, The Effect of Body Shaming on the Confidence of Students of the FKIP Guidance and Counseling Study Program, Tadulako University. Undergraduate Thesis. Guidance and Counseling Study Program, Department of Education Science, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University. Supervisor Dhevy Puswiartika. This study aims to determine the effect of body shaming on self-confidence in female students of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program. Body shaming is the behavior of making negative comments related to a person's physical condition that can affect psychological conditions, including self-confidence. Self-confidence is one of the important aspects in student's psychological development because it affects the individual's ability to assess and accept themselves positively. This study uses a quantitative approach with a type of causal associative research. The sample in this study amounted to 81 female students who were selected using the purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using a psychological scale in the form of a questionnaire. The data obtained was then analyzed using a simple linear regression technique. The results of the analysis showed a regression equation Y = 48.060 + (−0.110) X with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. These results show that body shaming has a negative and significant effect on self-confidence. A determination coefficient value (R Square) of 0.541 indicates that body shaming contributes 54.1% to self-confidence, while the remaining 45.9% is influenced by other factors outside of this study. Based on the results of the study, it was found that body shaming has an effect on students' self-confidence. The higher the body shaming experience that students receive, the lower the level of confidencethey have.

Abstract

This study explores the meaningfulness of group counseling based on Transactional Analysis (TA) integrated with Padungku cultural values in enhancing students' social interaction skills. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design using the Hopkins model over two cycles. Participants were 10 tenth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through a social interaction skills instrument, process observations, and student evaluations of counseling services. Results indicated significant improvement, with students progressively shifting from "Low" to "Very High" categories of social interaction. Observations supported the quantitative data, showing increased participation, communication, and self-control, while student evaluations revealed positive perceptions of the intervention's meaningfulness. The discussion links these changes to the ego state mechanism in TA and reinforcement of local cultural values. The study concludes that this integrative approach is meaningful in developing culturally responsive school counseling practices.

Abstract

Children who are in conflict with the law (ABH) are a group of adolescents who are vulnerable to experiencing mental health problems due to psychological pressure, limited freedom, and social stigma during the coaching period. One of the psychological factors that can support mental health is dispositional mindfulness. This study aims to examine the influence of dispositional mindfulness on the mental health of children who are facing the law at the Palu Class II Special Children's Development Institution (LPKA). The method used is a quantitative approach with an ex-post facto design. The research subjects consisted of 24 fostered children who were selected through total sampling techniques. The research data was obtained using the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) and Mental Health Continuum-Short Form (MHC-SF) instruments, then analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The results showed that the level of dispositional mindfulness was in the high category and mental health conditions were in the high category. However, the results of the regression analysis showed that dispositional mindfulness did not have a significant effect on mental health (p = 0.899; R² = 0.001). These findings suggest that the mental health of children who face the law is more influenced by other factors such as social support and a coaching environment.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-based group counseling in reducing culture shock among college students. A quantitative pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. The participants were 12 students selected through purposive sampling based on moderate to high levels of culture shock. Data were collected using a culture shock questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.885 and analyzed with the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results showed a significant decrease in culture shock after the intervention, with Z = -3.061 and p = 0.002 (< 0.05). All participants experienced lower scores, and the effect size of r = 0.88 indicated a large effect. These findings confirm that CBT-based group counseling is effective in helping students reduce culture shock through cognitive restructuring, peer support, and the development of adaptive behaviors. The intervention has practical potential for counseling services in higher education to support first-year students’ adjustment, well-being, and academic engagement.

Abstract

New students often face complex academic and social adaptation challenges, which require academic resilience to survive and succeed. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and academic resilience in new students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University. Data collection was conducted using a Likert scale for self-esteem and an academic resilience scale on 338 new students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University, as a sample, which was then analyzed using Spearman's bivariate correlation test with the assistance of SPSS version 27. The results of the study show that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, which means that there is a significant positive relationship between self-esteem and academic resilience in new students. These findings indicate that the higher the self-esteem of students, the higher their academic resilience in facing challenges in college. These results are expected to be the basis for the development of intervention programs to improve the adaptability of new students in a college environment
