Abstract

Earthquake source mechanisms are used to determine local geological characteristics and hazard mitigation. There are several approaches to determine the mechanism of earthquake. In this paper, the relative time of the rupture duration is applied to determine rupture directivity. In determining rupture directivity, the Levenberg-Marquardt (LM) method is proposed to solve the inversion problem. To test the reliability of this method, teleseismic data with an epicentral distance of 40o from the Philippine earthquake on 15 December 2019  6.8, which had a good seismic station distribution with a total of 35 stations, is used. Telesismic data from each station is filtered in the range of 0.25 to 1 Hz to obtain an accurate rupture duration. Furthermore, the rupture duration data set was inverted using the LM method to obtain the direction of earthquake rupture. The results obtained by the curve fitting using the LM method had a good agreement between the observed data and the calculated data. From the curve fitting results, the rupture propagated in the NW direction with azimuth 320.60o ± 2.30o, and this had the same results from previous studies. Therefore, from rupture directivity, the actual fault plane of this earthquake was NP1 which had a strike/dip/rake value of 321o/75o/13o, respectively. The results indicate that the Philippines earthquake of 15 December 2019 had the SE-NW fault orientation, which is part of the Cotabato fault system. The implication of this research is for a preliminary study related to the characteristics of earthquake rupture in areas that have a high level of seismicity. Thus, local residents can avoid areas where ruptures propagate when carrying out earthquake mitigation.

Abstract

Liquefaction is the condition of the soil that loses shear strength due to an earthquake, so the capacity of the soil decreases suddenly. Liquefaction occurs in water-saturated sand soils, such as in breakwater of South Bali coast with the magnitude earthquake of 6.8 based on BMKG data in 2011. This condition allows liquefaction to occur under the breakwater. This study aims to identify the potential and thickness of the liquefaction layer based on the N-SPT value at 4 bore hole using 3 methods, namely the Seed-Idriss method, the NCEER method, and the Tokimatsu-Yoshimi method, and design ground improvement with vibro compaction to overcome liquefaction problems. Based on the results of 3 methods analysis, the potential for liquefaction occurred in all bore hole zones with a thickness of 5 to 9 m from the ground surface. The ground improvement design uses vibro compaction with a triangular pattern, spacing 2.1 m. Ground improvement increases the liquefaction FS value, so the potential for liquefaction in all bore hole zones does not occur

Abstract

AbstractLaw enforcement practices in the military environment are still not in line with sectoral egos. Law enforcement has not been able to guarantee substantive order, truth and justice. When carrying out law enforcement in the military environment, it should not only refer to normative legal rules, but what needs to be done more is to make legal breakthroughs that are more effective and efficient. The discipline of a soldier is an absolute thing that is inseparable from his duty to maintain the security of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. This study analyzes contemporary forms of threats related to security and resilience and explains the similarities and differences in national resilience studies which aim to realize a national security system and develop national security systems in other countries. This research is normative juridical research, using a statutory approach, conceptual approach, and analytical techniques in the form of grammatical interpretation and systematic interpretation. This research explains that the forms of threats that occur in Indonesia include problems at the border, intolerance between ethnicities and between governments and religions, inequality in bureaucratic reform, inadequate law enforcement, and transnational crime. This research shows that national resilience and security are influenced by the professionalism of the Indonesian National Army. The safe conditions of a country cannot be separated from just security and defense but are in synergy with other factors, namely economics, politics, law, socio-culture, ideology, geography, demography and resources

Abstract

This study explores the properties of semi-crystalline polyvinyl chloride (PVC) polymer as insulation material for low-voltage (LV) cables under high gamma radiation exposure. Test samples underwent gamma radiation (60Co) at doses of 25, 50, 100, 200, 400, and 800 kGy. The evaluation encompassed surface morphology, electrical conductivity, thermal characteristics, and mechanical properties via tensile tests. Electron microscopy observation indicated surface smoothing and flattening occurred at an irradiation dose of 800 kGy. Gamma radiation with increasing doses results in similar thermogram profiles with slight differences in melting temperature and residue mass. The sample irradiated at a gamma dose of 25 kGy generates an increase in the percentage of crystallinity, indicating the occurrence of crosslinking, while other doses exhibit a decrease of crystallinity with increasing radiation dose. Tensile stress significantly dropped up to 400 kGy but increased at 800 kGy. Elongation at break (EAB) decreased with higher gamma radiation doses. Overall, materials up to 800 kGy remained non-brittle, serving as effective insulators and demonstrating thermal stability within high gamma radiation exposure conditions.

Abstract

The installation of this equipment can help control the humidity process for orchid cultivation in small-scale greenhouses by entering the humidity values that have been determined, with values of  60%, 70%, and 80%. After that, it is processed by the ESP32 as the controller center, then the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) will show the current humidity display, then the sensor (SHT11) will read the humidity value if the humidity setpoint is below a predetermined value then the motor is on and the nozzle is working, humidity has reached the desired setpoint then the motor will turn off and the nozzle will stop. The goal to be achieved is to maintain the humidity of orchids in the greenhouse so that it remains stable according to standards and regulations, because in this greenhouse,  to maintain plant humidity is a very crucial thing for orchid cultivation because at the time it was still using human power manually with a water hose. We developed this tool to keep the humidity steady by using a nozzle that makes it a mist of water. By using a system that runs automatically, making it easier for business actors to use this tool and has time efficiency. In its installation, the tool is able to generate humidity through the nozzle using a reference to increase the hysteresis value in the control circuit and get an output that oscillates in the setting point area so that the humidity rises according to the setting point, this is because the water misting process in the test conditions cannot be immediately lost, thus affecting the test results

Abstract

a lot, almost 90% is on the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) scale. At the time of carrying out the mechanism of the salted egg cleaning process the majority still use the manual method and of course this takes quite a long time and is inefficiency of human labor. To overcome this problem, the author designed an automatic cleaning tool in order to speed up the manufacture of salted eggs, especially in the egg cleaning process. The system of this tool includes an Arduino Uno microcontroller module, a BTS7960 motor driver module, a two-channel relay module, a DC motor, a proximity sensor, a 16x2 LCD, a buzzer, an on/off switch, and a push button. With the initial step of entering the dirty egg then the egg will roll down through the egg brush, with a certain time that we have set up then the egg will go down into a special container for the second cleaning process, so that from the dirty egg due to the diffusion process, it will turn into a clean egg and ready to be sale in market. So that by using this tool we have an effective of time and labor efficiency.
