Abstract

Early Warning Score (EWS) Implementation in Inpatient Ward: Scooping Review. The implementation of EWS is known to reduce the worsening rate of patients in the inpatient ward, accuracy in implementing can affect decision making in treating patients. Research shows that there is still little literature review that discusses the application of EWS. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a scooping review related to the application of EWS. The purpose of this study was to identify how to apply EWS in inpatient wards in hospitals. The research method follows the framework of Arksey and O'Malley. The scooping review was conducted by 3 databases of PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scopus published from 2014-2023 in March, using English and Indonesian which discussed the implementation of EWS in hospitals using  the keywords  'Nurse', 'Early Warning Score', 'Early Warning System', detect deterioration patient'. The results obtained  as many as 179 potentially relevant articles, 7 articles identified. The findings revealed that the application of EWS carried out in the hospital consisted of recording observation sheets, frequency of patient monitoring according to the EWS score, actions according to the EWS protocol applied and the time of measurement of patient vital signs

Abstract

One of the main factors that cause environmental damage in Indonesia is waste. Reducing waste by burning it directly without an incinerator will cause air pollution for the environment. CO2 is a substance produced by a complete combustion process. The amount of waste produced by Bandung Regency reaches 1,480.1 tons/day, with 20% of the waste being plastic waste. One way to utilize plastic waste is to recycle it into materials to produce paver blocks. Producing paver blocks requires a series of machines, such as crushing machines, plastic melting machines, and pressing machines. Plastic waste that has been sorted is put into a chopping machine and cut into 10 mm pieces. The plastic that has been cut is then melted down and printed, then re-pressed with a press machine. The type of plastic used in this research is polypropylene, with a melting point of 160-170°C. The size of the paver block produced is compatible with the market size. During the production of paver blocks, the CO2 concentration was monitored to see the effect of resin melting. In the analysis of paver blocks' economic potential, we found that the production cost using plastic waste is relatively expensive compared to conventional paver blocks. However, this type of paver block is not harmful to the environment. The results of this study indicate that plastic waste paver blocks can be used as paver block materials because they have quite an impact on the environment, although their economic value cannot compete with conventional paver blocks.

Abstract

Braille is a letter designed for the visually impaired. As a family with normal vision who have a visually impaired child find it difficult to Teach their child how to learn and understand the process of learning from home. Learning braille requires good finger sensitivity and memory to memorize each letterform, making it difficult to learn.  With this study, braille letters can be detected from the image using the Gabor Wavelet method to extract braille images and combined with the Multiclass Support Vector Machine (Multiclass SVM) algorithm as a classification method for extracted braille images. Data testing was performed using a confusion matrix to determine the level of precision, accuracy, and recall. According to the results of tests performed on 910 braille data using confusion matrix, the highest recognition accuracy was 98,02%. The accuracy of these results is impacted by the parameters of the training process, the training data, and the test data used. This research has the opportunity to be developed in voice-based card recognition to help the visually impaired in the future research.
