Abstract

This study investigates the needs of fifth-grade teachers and students at SDN 1 Dawas, Musi Banyuasin Regency, regarding the development of PMRI-based (Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education) instructional videos for fraction division material. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach with needs analysis methodology, data were collected from five teachers and 29 students through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and structured questionnaires. Data analysis followed systematic thematic analysis procedures including data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through triangulation. Results revealed that despite adequate infrastructure (93.79% resource availability, 89.66% internet access) and high student motivation (93.79% learning interest), significant gaps persisted in content mastery (60.69%), concept comprehension (65.52%), and problem-solving skills (54.48%). Teachers demonstrated moderate pedagogical competence (74% average) and recognized innovative media value (72%), yet faced implementation challenges with current materials meeting only 64% of needs. Notably, 92% student interest in technology applications remained underutilized. These findings indicate critical necessity for PMRI-based video development that contextualizes fraction division within students' lived experiences, accompanied by teacher professional development in pedagogical orchestration. The study contributes empirical evidence for PMRI implementation in rural Indonesian contexts, emphasizing that technological readiness requires corresponding pedagogical transformation and contextually responsive learning materials to bridge existing instructional gaps.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the role of ward head leadership in shaping the competence of new nurses. The focus of the study is on how leadership strategies, training programs, and organizational support contribute to improving the clinical readiness and professionalism of new nurses. The research method used was qualitative with a descriptive approach through a literature study. Data collection techniques were carried out by reviewing relevant current scientific articles, while data analysis was conducted inductively through a process of theme identification, data reduction, concept categorization, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that effective ward head leadership—which integrates emotional, pedagogical, and strategic approaches—has a direct impact on strengthening the clinical competence, interpersonal skills, and work resilience of new nurses. The findings also reveal that leadership training based on authentic leadership, mindfulness, and 360-degree feedback significantly improves the managerial capacity of ward heads in mentoring new staff. The implications of these results emphasize the importance of integrating leadership development programs into the nursing management system and the need for institutional support in creating a sustainable learning environment. In conclusion, ward leadership is not only an administrative function but also a key agent in transforming the learning process and competency development in the clinical environment.

Abstract

Abstract

Workplace accidents remain a critical Occupational Health and Safety (K3/OSH) issue, particularly in hospitals where employees are exposed to multiple hazards and high work intensity. Strengthening employees’ ability to minimize workplace accidents is essential to protect staff, maintain service continuity, and improve organizational performance. In this context, K3/OSH knowledge and organizational commitment are assumed to be key factors supporting accident-prevention capability. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effects of K3/OSH knowledge and organizational commitment on employees’ ability to minimize workplace accidents at Hospital X Surabaya, both simultaneously and partially. Methods: This study employed a quantitative, cross-sectional design. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire administered to 84 employees selected from a population of 179 using Slovin’s formula (e = 0.10). Respondents included clinical and non-clinical staff (doctors, nurses, midwives, medical record officers, pharmacists, radiology staff, and administrative personnel). Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS, assessing the overall model significance (F-test) and the partial effects of each predictor (t-tests). Results: The regression model was statistically significant, indicating that K3/OSH knowledge and commitment jointly predict accident-minimization ability (F = 142.686, p < .001). Partially, K3/OSH knowledge had a significant positive effect on accident-minimization ability (t = 4.423, p < .001), and organizational commitment also had a significant positive effect (t = 3.104, p = .003). These results suggest that employees’ ability to minimize workplace accidents tends to increase when they have stronger OSH knowledge and higher commitment. Implications: Hospitals should implement integrated OSH interventions that combine competency development (e.g., role-specific K3 training, SOP reinforcement) with commitment strengthening (e.g., leadership consistency, safety culture reinforcement, supportive supervision) to enhance accident prevention. Originality: This study provides context-specific evidence from an Indonesian hospital by testing K3/OSH knowledge and commitment simultaneously within one predictive model across diverse occupational roles, highlighting the need for combined knowledge–commitment strategies in accident prevention.
