Abstract

The concept of economic growth that has increased social welfare needs to be expanded in terms of its meaning and benchmarks. It focuses not only on economic activities but also on how they impact all of society in the present and the future. This study aims to analyze Indonesia’s inclusive green growth in 2015 and 2019. The method used to obtain the analysis is the Inclusive Green Growth Index (IGGI), conducted by Asian Development Bank (ADB). IGGI is a composite index consisting of three pillars: economic growth, social equity, and environmental sustainability. The study showed that Indonesia’s inclusive green growth was getting better where its average score in 2015 was 3.21, increasing to 3.36 in 2019. However, the improvement is not ideal yet because its mainly influenced by the economic growth pillar. In contrast, the average score of the environmental sustainability pillar declined from 4.19 in 2015 to 4.00 in 2019, accompanied by the decreasing social equity pillar score in 15 out of 34 provinces. All Efforts to achieve a better-balanced IGGI are improving and maintaining environmental quality, improving access to economic and political activities, improving public service and infrastructure in various provinces, and increasing superior and potential sectors to pursue economic disparity inter-provincial.

Abstract

Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Number 2/PERMEN-KP/2015, sodo and trawlers are fishing gear prohibited from being used, especially by small fishers, because they are not environmentally friendly. However, many fishers still use this tool, one of whom is a fisherman who looks for fish in the waters of Tambakrejo, Semarang, which significantly disrupts the activities of Tambakrejo fishers. This study aims to identify the socio-demographic profile of Tambakrejo fishers, analyze the impact of using sodo and trawlers in Tambakrejo waters, and analyze strategies for handling the effect. This study uses primary data from semi-structured and in-depth interviews. The number of respondents in the study was 60, as determined by the purposive sampling method. This study uses a mixed-methods approach. Quantitative analysis in the form of descriptive analysis is needed to answer the first and second goals. At the same time, quantitative analysis is used to answer the third objective with the help of the Atlas.Ti tool. This study's results show that most fishers use traps and bamboo clumps. The dominating use of sodo and trawlers in Tambakrejo waters has an economic aspect in the form of reduced catches and damage to traps and clusters, as well as social aspects, namely the conflict between Tambakrejo fishers and fishers who use sodo and trawl nets. To deal with this impact, government intervention is needed in the form of water police patrols and strict action against fishers who use sod and trawl fishing gear. The results of this study are expected to be considered in formulating policies, especially fisheries policiesKeywords: Impact, trawlers, sodo, fishers, Tambakrejo

Abstract

Tambakrejo’s small-scale fishing households have low socio-economic capabilities and must face the problem of tidal flooding. Therefore, this research has the following objectives: 1) To identify the vulnerability of fishing households in Tambakrejo Fishermen Village to social-ecological changes due to tidal flooding. 2) To investigate the adaptive responses of fishermen households in facing socio-ecological changes due to tidal flooding. This research uses primary data by using semi-structured interviews. The number of respondents in the study was 60, determined by the snowball sampling technique. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods. The results of the research show that the community is vulnerable to both natural and institutional aspects. Adaptive responses shape community resilience through increased collaboration capacity and community learning capacity. This research contributes to the government's ability to distribute assistance to the community, especially fishing households affected by tidal flooding.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the vulnerability of small-scale fishermen in the Roban Coastal Area through fast variables and slow variables, identify the adaptive capacity of fishermen to social-ecological changes, and analyze the resilience strategy of fishermen in facing rapid social-ecological changes due to national strategy projects. The method used was a mixed method with descriptive statistical analysis and 100 small-scale fishermen were taken as samples through purposive sampling. The results obtained show that the level of vulnerability of small-scale fishermen is in the high vulnerability category with a score of 7.89, the most vulnerable indicator is dependence on nature. The Roban Coastal small-scale fishermen resilience strategy is carried out through interdependence between stakeholders (academics, business people, government, and community) by obtaining the results that need to pay attention to several aspects (social, environmental, economic) in facing changes so that fishermen have a resilient level of resilience.

Abstract

The Indonesian government believes that by increasing investment, it will also be able to encourage economic activity in the country and economic growth will increase. Indonesia's economic growth is not only influenced by investment, but is also supported by the foreign trade sector, namely exports and imports. The purpose of this study is to determine the simultaneous relationship between investment and economic growth as proven through the Hausman test. The test results in a residual probability of 0.000 which is less than the 5% significance level. The results explain that there is a simultaneous relationship between investment and national income which is described by the value of GDP, so that the 2SLS method can be used to determine the factors that influence the two variables.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the relationship between economic growth, renewable energy, and industrial value added to CO2 emissions in ASEAN. The data used is panel data of 10 ASEAN countries from 2001-2020. This study uses the vector error correction model (VECM) for analysis. The estimation results show that CO2 emissions are only influenced by the CO2 variable itself in the previous period in the short term. In addition, economic growth and renewable energy significantly negatively affect CO2 emissions in the long term. Economic growth has the largest contribution to reducing CO2 emissions. The empirical findings also support the existence of the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) in ASEAN. However, industrial value added has no significant effect on CO2 emissions. This study has several policy implications. The government needs to 1) strengthen energy transition regulations to encourage the use of renewable energy, 2) increase investment in RD to stimulate green technology innovation, and 3) protect the environment to mitigate negative externalities of economic activity.

Abstract

This study aims to design an ecotourism development strategy and calculate its economic value. The research method used is a "mixed method" approach. The qualitative approach is obtained from in-depth interviews with parties involved in developing and managing the Tugurejo mangrove forest conservation, which is processed using the NVivo application. In contrast, the quantitative approach is processed using the analysis of the contingent assessment method (CVM) and willingness to pay (WTP). The study results show that the role and involvement of youth are crucial in the preservation of Ecotourism Areas. Conservation is needed in the sustainable development of Ecotourism Areas with the part and participation of youth. The average amount of WTP is Rp. 10.000.00. The economic value of income for one year is estimated to generate Rp revenue. 280,000,000.00 with a ticket of Rp. 5,000 (including parking).

Abstract

Introduction: Cancer treatments often comes with varying adverse effects on both functional and physiological status of cancer patients, such as reduced kidney function, necessitating haemodialysis. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of therapeutic regimen education on the treatment self-efficacy of cancer patients undergoing haemodialysis. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental method, involving 136 participants divided into control and intervention groups. The intervention group was given therapeutic regimen education that lasted for 4 weeks. The self-efficacy score was measured before and after intervention in both groups. Pre- and post-intervention scores were measured using the Chronic Kidney Disease Self-Efficacy instrument (r = 0.845). Paired t-test and independent t-test were used, respectively. Results: The results show that the patients who received therapeutic regimen education had significant increases in self-efficacy scores (p < 0.001). The mean (SD) score for all sub-variables increased after treatment: autonomy, from 15.07 (4.29) to 26.50 (1.74); personal integrity, from 11.63 (3.92) to 23.68 (2.59); problem-solving, from 10.66 (3.98) to 18.85 (0.82); and seeking social support, from 7.13 (2.38) to 14.06 (1.62). From the statistical test results, a significant difference in each dimension of self-efficacy was found between before and after treatment (p < 0.001). When the post test scores between intervention and control were compared, it showed significant different between them (p < 0.001). Conclusions: Therapeutic regimen education can increase treatment self-efficacy in cancer patients undergoing haemodialysis treatment, which can affect the patient’s healing process. Keywords: cancer patients, haemodialysis, self-efficacy, therapeutic regimen education
