Abstract

This study refers publication trends related to culture, tourism, and economy to construct the basis for further research. The analysis employed a literature review by utilizing VosViewer software. Articles were sourced from Scopus with the criteria: published between 2020–2025, in English, and including the keywords culture, tourism, and economy. Articles with the highest number of citations relevant to the requirements were discussed further.  The results of document searches in Scopus showed that there were 674 documents with the keywords culture, tourism and economy. Most publications originated from East Asia and North America. The development ofpublicity related to culture, tourism and economy will generally include local wisdom as a tourist attraction. These findings reveal the increasing scholarly attention on the interplay between culture, tourism, and economy, particularly concentrated in East Asia and the USA, highlighting significant opportunities for sustainable cultural tourism development, especially in under-researched regions such as Indonesia. Most publicity mentions that over time there has been a shift in culture, the majority of which leads to negativity. This result then becomes an important topic related to the sustainability of culture in the economy, especially when the culture becomes atourist attraction.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the robusta coffee value chain in the Ngudi Rahayu XI Farmer Group in Kebondalem Village, Jambu District, Semarang Regency to determine the added value that can be obtained from each stage of the process in the robusta coffee supply chain and development strategies that can increase farmers' income. The research method used descriptive qualitative analysis with data collection through observation, interviews and discussions with farmers and quantitative related to added value using the hayami method. The results showed that the processing and marketing stages of robusta coffee final products generate the greatest added value. In particular, processing into dried coffee ose produces a total value-added of Rp 2,510 and packaged ground coffee of Rp 7,672 for every kilogram of wet ground coffee. Evidently that further processing to finished products generates greater value-added than selling semi-finished products. However, fluctuating coffee prices, limited access to market information, and technology are problems that coffee farmer groups still face. Therefore, to increase competition and profits for robusta coffee farmers in Kebondalem Village, it is necessary to improve the value chain through innovations in the processing process. value chain improvement through innovations in processing, implementation of integrated quality management, and implementation of effective marketing strategies.

Abstract

This study investigates the mismatch between income poverty and multidimensional poverty (MPI) across six ASEAN countries: Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, over the 2019–2024 period. It explores the determinants of mismatch and the influence of specific deprivation indicators using a comprehensive set of econometric approaches. Combining descriptive trends with panel data analysis (OLS), PCA-based classification, ridge regression, and logit/probit models, the research draws from the Global MPI datasets and income poverty estimates to assess both cross-country and within-country dynamics. The findings reveal persistent mismatches: while income poverty shows consistent declines, MPI remains high in several countries due to sustained deprivations, particularly in living standards and education. PCA confirms the multidimensional structure of poverty, and binary choice models highlight the most significant contributors to mismatch. Countries like Cambodia face pronounced mismatches, while Indonesia and Vietnam exhibit better alignment between income and MPI. The study emphasizes the limitations of relying solely on income measures and advocates integrating MPI into national poverty strategies. By highlighting hidden deprivations, the research offers novel insights and actionable recommendations for improving the accuracy and inclusivity of poverty targeting mechanisms in the ASEAN region.

Abstract

Corruption has a causal relationship with economic growth that economists have long studied. This study aims to determine the causal relationship between corruption and economic growth, the effects of human development and good governance on corruption, and the effect of investment, labor force, and the use of technology on economic growth. The data used is panel data consisting of 43 Asian countries in 2012-2022, which were analyzed using Two-Stage Least Squares (2SLS). This study found that corruption and economic growth have a positive causal relationship, thus supporting the theory of Sand the Wheel that corruption hinders economic growth in Asian countries except Central Asia, and the determinants of corruption and economic growth have varying effects in the Asian region. This study provides information for stakeholders to develop policies that encourage economic growth by prioritizing human development, creating good governance, and increasing physical capital, human capital, and technology adoption.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the relationship between economic growth, renewable energy, and industrial value added to CO2 emissions in ASEAN. The data used is panel data of 10 ASEAN countries from 2001-2020. This study uses the vector error correction model (VECM) for analysis. The estimation results show that CO2 emissions are only influenced by the CO2 variable itself in the previous period in the short term. In addition, economic growth and renewable energy significantly negatively affect CO2 emissions in the long term. Economic growth has the largest contribution to reducing CO2 emissions. The empirical findings also support the existence of the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) in ASEAN. However, industrial value added has no significant effect on CO2 emissions. This study has several policy implications. The government needs to 1) strengthen energy transition regulations to encourage the use of renewable energy, 2) increase investment in RD to stimulate green technology innovation, and 3) protect the environment to mitigate negative externalities of economic activity.
