Konseling spiritual bekerja melalui empat mekanisme utama: penciptaan makna hidup, penguatan regulasi emosi, peningkatan hubungan transendental, dan pengembangan strategi coping positif.

Ellison’s theory of spiritual well-being emphasizes that an individual’s well-being is not solely dependent on physical and psychological aspects, but also on the spiritual dimension that provides meaning in life and emotional balance. In the context of education, the implementation of spiritual well-being through spiritual guidance and counseling services can serve as an effective strategy to address bullying behavior. Spiritual guidance and counseling not only focus on resolving students’ psychological problems, but also instill transcendental values such as empathy, compassion, and respect for others. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach to analyze the concept of spiritual guidance and counseling and its relevance in addressing bullying in schools. The findings indicate that the integration of spiritual values in guidance and counseling can foster students’ character development, making them more tolerant, appreciative of diversity, and morally aware. Furthermore, the application of spiritual guidance and counseling based on the principles of religious pluralism enables students to understand universal values that reject all forms of violence. Thus, spiritual guidance and counseling play a significant role not only in enhancing students’ holistic well-being, but also in creating a harmonious school environment free from bullying

Neo-sufism is the recent Sufi movement that actively develops society. Historically, sufism has brought forth arif billâh individuals who have great faith and devotion to Allah, excellent pedagogical competence, as well as social and professional skills. This study aims to construct the meeting point between neo-sufism character and school counselor competence. It was carried out using a qualitative approach with the Hermeneutic analysis from Paul Ricoeur. The data was obtained from documents and interviews. The results reveal the meeting point between neo-sufism character and four counselors competencies. Makrifatullah (depth comprehension of God) character is linear with pedagogical and personality competence. Prioritizing other people (itsar) and noble (futuwwah) character are in line with social competence; meanwhile, creative-productive (intajiyyah) character is in accordance with professional competence. Therefore, neo-sufism character transforms counselors’ competencies to be more significant and meaningful.

Initial investigations revealed that the typical student experiences a diminished level of well-being. This research aims to delve into the happiness patterns among students, scrutinize the underlying factors, and ascertain methods for enhancing their happiness. Employing a phenomenological qualitative approach, the study elucidates that students perceive happiness subjectively. Additionally, it explores the determinants influencing student happiness and strategies for augmenting their well-being within the Islamic boarding school environment. Happiness is interpreted by students at the salafiyah/traditional Islamic boarding school as a feeling filled with togetherness, simplicity and oriented towards achieving the goals of the world and the hereafter. Factors that support the happiness of students from within are acceptance, openness, calmness, resilience, self-control and good time management. While the determinants of the happiness of students who come from the first environment are attachment and parental support, peer support and support from pesantren through kyai/ustadz.
