Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of perceived enjoyment and perceived playfulness on intention to continue using the Netflix application, focusing on Generation Z users in Kolaka Regency. The rapid development of digital technology has transformed entertainment consumption behavior from conventional media toward streaming-based services that are more flexible, personalized, and easily accessible. Netflix has become one of the widely used digital entertainment platforms because it offers diverse content, personalized recommendations, and viewing experiences that align with users’ preferences. In the context of Generation Z, enjoyable and engaging user experiences are particularly important because this group is characterized as digital natives, tends to prefer varied content, and is likely to switch to other platforms when the experience does not meet their expectations. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The sample consisted of 100 Netflix users residing in Kolaka Regency, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that perceived enjoyment has a positive and significant effect on intention to continue using. This finding suggests that the higher the comfort, satisfaction, and enjoyment perceived by users, the stronger their intention to continue using Netflix. Furthermore, perceived playfulness also has a positive and significant effect on intention to continue using. This means that an interesting, curiosity-arousing, and attention-focused experience can strengthen users’ continuance intention. This study confirms that the continued use of digital entertainment applications is influenced not only by functional aspects but also by emotional value and interactive experiences perceived by users.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of adherence to social norms, complimentary delivery services, and favorable emotional states on spontaneous purchasing decisions made by Generation Z individuals utilizing TikTok Shop within the East Kolaka Regency. The study used a quantitative approach with a causal-associative and explanatory research design. Purposive sampling was used to choose a sample of 180 participants who met the following requirements: belonging to Generation Z, making impulsive purchases through TikTok Shop, and living in the East Kolaka Regency. The obtained data was then analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method, which was made possible by SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results indicate that conformity, the provision of free shipping, and the experience of positive emotions exert a favorable and statistically significant influence on impulse buying. Among the three variables, conformity was identified as the most dominant factor influencing impulsive purchasing decisions, followed by positive emotions and free shipping promotions. These results indicate that impulse buying among Generation Z is strongly affected not only by individual preferences but also by social influence, emotional responses, and digital promotional strategies integrated into social commerce platforms such as TikTok Shop. This study contributes theoretically by enriching the literature related to impulse buying in digital commerce, particularly among Generation Z consumers. Practically, the findings provide insights for businesses and digital marketers in developing more effective promotional and engagement strategies. Subsequent research is encouraged to include variables such as financial literacy, self-control, lifestyle, and consumer trust, so as to yield a more comprehensive understanding of impulse buying in digital marketplace settings.

This study applies a descriptive qualitative approach, collecting information through in-depth interviews and careful observation. The 7P Marketing Mix and SWOT analysis are used to analyze the data and determine the internal and external factors that influence the implementation of digital marketing in the woven cloth business. Research informants consist of business owners, employees of the Kolaka Regency Tourism Office, consumers, suppliers, and other related parties. The study findings show that the Mekongga Customary Mantik Sangia woven cloth business has strengths in product quality, motifs, business legality, and local government support. Opportunities are also supported by increasing public interest in local products and the development of digital marketing. However, there are still weaknesses such as suboptimal digital promotion, limited digital marketing knowledge, and the lack of use of paid advertising. Threats faced include price competition, changes in consumer tastes, and the declining interest of the younger generation in traditional cloth. Strategies that can be implemented include strengthening product branding, improving the quality of digital content, utilizing social media and marketplaces, digital marketing training, and more modern product innovations to increase the competitiveness of the creative industry in the digital era.

Abstract

This research is intended to examine how consumer confusion and information overload affect purchasing decisions among Generation Z. The findings indicate that consumer confusion does not significantly impact purchasing decisions, whereas information overload demonstrates a significant effect. The study adopts a quantitative approach involving three variables: consumer confusion and information overload as independent variables and purchasing decisions as the dependent variable. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 184 Generation Z respondents. The data analysis process included validity and reliability testing, classical assumption testing, as well as statistical analyses such as correlation, coefficient of determination, regression, and hypothesis testing. The results reveal that, partially, consumer confusion does not significantly influence purchasing decisions, reflected by a Beta value of 1%. In contrast, information overload shows a strong and significant effect with a Beta value of 82.5%. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence purchasing decisions, as indicated by an R² value of 67.2%. These findings suggest that companies should consider both factors when aiming to enhance consumer purchasing decisions.
