Abstract

Backgrounds: Graduate scholarships are an important resource for pursuing postgraduate studies. However, the process of obtaining scholarships often poses challenges and confusion for students. Methods: In this context, this study aims to explain the effectiveness of socialization and interactive discussions as a strategy to obtain graduate scholarships. Through socialization activities, students can obtain relevant information about the requirements, application process, and success tips in obtaining graduate scholarships. In addition, interactive discussions with fellow students who have similar experiences enable the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and strategies that are useful in facing challenges in the scholarship process. Involvement in student communities such as Mata Garuda also provides access to a wide network and emotional support which is important in motivating and guiding students during the scholarship application process. Results: Involvement in these community activities also helps students build confidence and social skills that can increase their competitiveness in obtaining graduate scholarships. Through this service, it provides important insights for students who are interested in obtaining postgraduate scholarships, especially in terms of the importance of joining student communities and taking advantage of opportunities for socialization and interactive discussions. Findings: The implication of this research is that universities and educational institutions should encourage and support student community activities that can assist students in effectively obtaining graduate scholarships.

Abstract

Kata kunci: K3; destana; tangguh bencana; banjir AbstractRambipuji Village has a land topography with an altitude of around 145 metres above sea level and is traversed by the Dinoyo river which flows from the upstream slopes of the Argopuro mountains. The condition of the river continues to silt up, culminating in the 2006 flash flood and until now there has been no normalisation of the Dinoyo river. Rambipuji village is prone to flooding because the Dinoyo river's water level is relatively level with the densely populated villages, so flooding occurs almost every year. To cope with the floods that occur every year, Rambipuji Village formed the Rambipuji Disaster Response Village (Destana). This Destana quickly and responsively carries out emergency work in pre-disaster, disaster emergency and post-disaster. In carrying out its functions, Destana consists of administrators and volunteers. Destana has been equipped with disaster technical skills, but during disaster management operations volunteers often work by endangering themselves such as without adequate PPE and ignoring the potential dangers of their work. For this reason, it is important to adopt the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) concept from the industrial world to be implemented by Destana Rambipuji as an effort to minimise risk and increase volunteer compliance with work procedures that meet OHS aspects. The service activities include the program preparation stage in June-July 2023; OHS socialisation in disaster resilient operations and technical guidance on the preparation of job safety analysis (JSA) for disaster operations carried out on 29 July 2023; and assistance in preparing OHS-based work SOPs carried out in August-November 2023. From this activity, Destana Rambipuji volunteers have an awareness of the importance of OHS culture, are able to carry out risk management during disaster response operations, are able to compile JSA documents, and complete OHS-based work SOPs. Keywords: HSE; disaster response village; disaster resilience; flood

Abstract

Abstract

There are landowners in Gedungmeneng Baru Village, Rajabasa Subdistrict, Bandarlampung City who do not install land boundary signs according to regulations, both in terms of shape, size and material. The absence of boundary marks or non compliance with land boundary mark rules can trigger disputes. This can happen because, firstly, the community is not aware of the provisions governing the shape and size of land boundary marks. Secondly, even if they are aware, they do not understand the provisions. Thirdly, even if they understand, they do not care about the situation around them regarding the installation of land boundary markers. This activity aims to increase the understanding of land rights holders about their rights and obligations as landowners, related to land boundary markings, and increase residents' understanding of the Government's program on Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL). The results of the activity showed an increase in legal knowledge and understanding, which initially only obtained an average score of 55.20 increased to an average of 74.50. The understanding of the shape and size of land boundary marks also increased. Thus residents have an understanding of the rights and obligations as landowners and good neighbors related to land boundary signs) and have a caring attitude towards the surrounding environment, to prevent land disputes by installing land boundary signs and trying to register land.

Abstract

The agricultural land sharecropping agreement is a legal action regulated by Law Number 2 of 1960 concerning Sharecropping Agreements, which originates from customary law in Indonesia. The sharecropping agreement practiced in Cipadang Village, Gedongtataan Subdistrict, Pesawaran Regency has been conducted orally based on trust and mutual agreement. The aim of this activity is to increase the public's understanding of the importance of creating written sharecropping agreements and to provide knowledge of the law that regulates these agreements. As a result, the target audience gains the knowledge and ability to create sharecropping agreements and apply Law Number 2 of 1960. The final evaluation shows a relatively small increase in the public's legal knowledge and understanding, from 60.20 to an average of 78.50. However, according to the extension team, this result is considered outstanding, given that the community's average education level is at the secondary school level. The activities in Cipadang Village should continue to foster legal knowledge, understanding, and public awareness, especially given that there are other questions beyond the topics being socialized. Regarding written sharecropping agreements, most are not authenticated by the village head. For the community, it is sufficient if the agreement is signed by both parties and witnessed by representatives of each side. The share is typically divided equally, 1:1, with costs shared between both parties.

Abstract

Violence against children is a form of human rights violation that requires serious handling, especially when committed by perpetrators who are recidivists. In the context of criminal law in Indonesia, the aggravation of punishment against perpetrators of child abuse who repeat their actions is still not explicitly regulated in the applicable regulations. In fact, the aggravation of punishment against recidivists is an important step to strengthen the legal protection of children. This research aims to examine the urgency and contribution of aggravated punishment in order to provide more effective legal protection for children as a vulnerable group. Through a normative juridical approach, it is found that the aggravation of punishment for recidivists does not only create a deterrent effect, but also serves as a preventive effort, the formation of a legal culture, and the enforcement of substantive justice. The state has a moral and legal responsibility to tackle violence against children through legal instruments that are clear, firm, and oriented towards victim protection. Therefore, it is necessary to reformulate criminal law policies that explicitly regulate the aggravation of sanctions for recidivists of violence against children so that the criminal justice system can work more effectively, fairly, and humanistically.
