Abstract

Patients with dyspepsia syndrome are among the top 10 most common conditions treated in hospitals across Indonesia. Medical students experience mental fatigue, including anxiety, due to the demanding learning process and tight class schedules. This study used a quantitative and qualitative approach with a cross-sectional research design to examine the relationship between anxiety levels and dyspepsia syndrome among the 2023 cohort of medical students at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Muslim Indonesia. The data were obtained from primary data collected through questionnaires filled out by respondents before and after their exams. The chi-square test results showed a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05) before the exam, and a p-value of 0.036 (p < 0.05) after the exam, indicating a significant relationship between anxiety levels and dyspepsia syndrome in the 2023 cohort of medical students at the University of Muslim Indonesia. There is a significant relationship between anxiety levels and dyspepsia syndrome in medical students at the University of Muslim Indonesia, both before and after exams. The most common level of anxiety experienced was mild anxiety.

Abstract

Bronchopneumonia is an inflammation that occurs in the bronchi and alveoli of the lungs and is also the most common clinical symptom of pneumonia in children. This is an infectious disease of the lower respiratory tract, often occurring in infants under 2 years of age or toddlers up to 5 years of age. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the factors that influence the incidence of bronchopneumonia in children, with a focus on risk factors, management, and the effectiveness of treatment applied in hospitals. The method used was a literature study and secondary data analysis from various journals and medical reports related to bronchopneumonia in children. The results showed that the main risk factors contributing to the incidence of bronchopneumonia in children include viral infections, incomplete immunization status, and environmental factors such as exposure to cigarette smoke. Treatment given generally includes antibiotics, fluid therapy, and supportive care, with an emphasis on early detection to prevent further complications. This study also found the importance of a holistic approach in the management of bronchopneumonia to achieve optimal outcomes in pediatric patients.

Abstract

Pension fund management is very important to ensure private employees benefits as pension fund participants and financial stability for pension fund management companies. This study aims to compare the Accrued Benefit Cost (ABC) and Entry Age Normal (EAN) methods in calculating pension funds, which consist of calculating normal contributions, actuarial liabilities, accumulated funds, and insufficient funds. The results show that the ABC method offers greater flexibility in managing contributions as well as a higher potential surplus fund for the company, while the EAN method provides stability in annual contributions with actuarial liabilities and accumulated funds that tend to be higher, making it more suitable for participants who prioritise long-term certainty. Thus, the choice of calculation method should be tailored to the characteristics and needs of the pension plan, especially in the context of dynamic private companies. Proper evaluation is needed to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of the pension plan for all parties involved.

Abstract

Noise in the work environment is a significant health risk factor, especially in affecting workers blood pressure and pulse rate. According to the WHO, noise is defined as unwanted or excessive sound that can damage human health. At PT. Bosowa Berlian Motor Kima Branch, Makassar, high noise exposure has the potential to cause health problems such as hypertension and pulse rate disorders. This study aims to describe blood pressure and pulse rate in workers exposed to noise in this work environment. The research method uses a descriptive cross-sectional approach with secondary data collected in December 2024. The results showed that 51.6% of workers were exposed to noise above 85 dB, with 51.6% of respondents having above-normal blood pressure and 32.3% experiencing tachycardia. Factors such as length of service, length of employment, and smoking history also contribute to health risks. The conclusion of this study is that noise exposure has a significant impact on workers blood pressure and pulse rate, so interventions such as noise control, the use of personal protective equipment, and health programs are needed to reduce health risks and improve workers welfare.

Abstract

Abstract

Hypertension is a serious disease that causes serious complications such as stroke, local myocardial necrosis, cardiovascular disorders, and kidney failure. Hypertension is often nicknamed the "Silent Killer" because it has no side effects. Information from the World Wellbeing Association (WHO) in 2015 shows that this figure will increase to 1.5 billion cases in 2025. The 2018 Fundamental Welfare Exploration (Riskesdas) in Indonesia revealed that the prevalence of hypertension in the population aged over 18 years was 658,201 cases. Moderate muscle relaxation exercises are a non-pharmacological measure that can help lower blood pressure. It is hoped that this examination will determine the relationship between muscle relaxation and reduced blood pressure in essential hypertension patients at the Sudiang Raya Makassar Community Welfare Center. The technique used is One Gathering Pretest-Posttest Plan. Information is dissected using the T test Suitable for evaluating differences in blood pressure during testing. The results of the review showed a significant reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure after moderate muscle release treatment, with a p value of 0.000 (p<0.05). Systolic and diastolic blood pressure were reduced by 9.31 mmHg and 4.76 mmHg respectively. There is an effect of mild muscle relaxation treatment on reducing blood pressure in essential hypertension patients at the Sudiang Raya Makassar Community Welfare Center.
