Abstract

This study aimed to find out the difference between class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Bintan who used the Flipped Classroom learning model and conventional learning. This quantitative study uses a Quasy Experiment research type with a non-equivalent control group design. The sampling technique uses cluster sampling. The research instruments included interview sheets, observation sheets, and a description of 5 questions. The questions were then tested for validity, reliability test, difficulty level test, and discrimination test. The prerequisite tests carried out were the normality and homogeneity tests, and then the data results were normally distributed, and the two groups were homogeneous. The results showed that students in the experimental class obtained an average increase in their understanding of mathematical concepts by 0.35, while students in the control class obtained an increase of 0.21. Test the hypothesis using an independent t-test with a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000. Because this test is a right-hand side test, the p-value = × 0.000 = 0, and it is known that 0 ≤ 0.05, so  is accepted. It can be concluded from this study that the increased understanding of mathematical concepts of students who learn with the Flipped Classroom model is higher than students who learn with conventional learning. It can be concluded from this study that the increased understanding of mathematical concepts of students who learn with the Flipped Classroom model is higher than students who learn with conventional learning.

Abstract

Adoption is a solution for several couples who have been married for a long time but have not been blessed with a child by God. Behind it all there is a problem, namely that many people do not know the procedures for adopting children, the distribution of inheritance to adopted children, or the position of adopted children's rights in the framework of Islamic inheritance law. There are many problems that occur in society because many people do not know the rights that adopted children have or how to file a legal claim so that the state recognizes them. So this makes it difficult for adopted children to know their position in the eyes of the law.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of digital financial inclusion and women's participation in strengthening food independence among coastal communities in South Sulawesi. The research sample consisted of 100 female respondents from Takalar, Bantaeng, and Bulukumba Regencies. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed through the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The findings reveal that digital financial inclusion has a positive but not significant effect on food independence (β=0.176; p=0.139), while women's participation has a positive and significant effect on food independence (β=0.568; p<0.001). Simultaneously, the two variables explain 50.4% of the variation in food independence, with the remaining 49.6% influenced by factors outside the model. These results highlight that the active role of women in economic activities, social participation, and household decision-making is more decisive in achieving food independence than mere access to digital financial services. The practical implication of this study emphasizes the importance of strengthening women’s empowerment programs through financial literacy and digitalization, as well as expanding cross-sector collaboration to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of gender equality, poverty alleviation, and food security in coastal regions.

Abstract

The waste problem remains a major challenge in maintaining environmental sustainability, particularlyrelated to soil quality. People's habit of littering causes pollution, reduces soil fertility, and has negativeimpacts on health. Through this community service activity, efforts were made to raise public awarenessabout the importance of disposing of waste properly and introduce the 3R concept (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) asa method of sustainable waste management. The activity was carried out through socialization and directpractice with the community of Selli Village, Bengo District. The socialization included an explanation of theimpact of waste on the environment, while the direct practice included waste sorting, making simple compost, and reusing used goods that can still be used. The results of the activity showed an increase in communityunderstanding of the dangers of waste if not managed properly. In addition, a shared commitment wasformed to get used to disposing of waste properly and applying the 3R principle in everyday life. Thecommunity also began to be able to utilize organic and inorganic waste more productively. This communityservice activity is effective in fostering a culture of environmental awareness while also being a concrete stepin preserving the soil and creating a cleaner and more sustainable environment.

Abstract

Dental and oral care products often contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), which can cause allergic reactions and mucosal infection. Biosurfactants (BS) and cinnamon essential oil (CEO) are safer alternatives due to their antimicrobial properties. This study screens BS form five bacterial isolates, CEO, and their nanoemulsions prepared by low-energy method (NEL) and high- energy method (NEH) for inhibiting oral pathogens. Results showed that BS from Bacillus altitudinis were most effective against Candida albicans, while BS from Bacillus siamensis were most effective against Streptococcus mutans and Enterococcus faecalis. The minimum concentrations of CEO inhibiting C. albicans were 1900 ppm and both S. mutans and E. faecalis were 490 ppm. The minimum NEL and NEH concentration inhibiting C. albicans was 3.125 ppm BS+ 175 ppm CEO and 6.25 ppm BS + 350 ppm CEO, respectively. The minimum NEL concentration inhibiting S. mutans and E. faecalis was 7.82 ppm BS + 120 ppm CEO and 1.95 ppm BS + 120 ppm CEO, while the minimum concentration of both NEH was 3.125 ppm BS+ 175 ppm CEO. These findings suggest that BS combined with CEO in nanoemulsions are effective in inhibiting oral pathogens and can serve as promising alternatives to SLS.

Abstract

Education is a basic right of every citizen, including children with special needs (ABK) who require special education services to develop their potential optimally. One important factor in supporting successful learning is the availability of educational facilities and infrastructure, however, in reality, there are still special schools with limited facilities. This study aims to analyze the impact of the lack of facilities on the teaching and learning process at the Al Halim Private Special Needs School (SBLS). The study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation on November 21, 2025. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that limited classroom space, a lack of learning media, and a lack of supporting facilities have an impact on the suboptimal implementation of learning and individual services for students according to their special needs. These conditions limit the variety of learning methods that can be applied by teachers. However, the availability of dormitory facilities and free shuttle services are supporting factors for the continuity of student education. This study has limitations in the number of subjects and the scope of the study. Therefore, support from schools and the government is needed to improve facilities and infrastructure to enhance the quality of education for children with special needs.
