Abstract

This research is driven by the urgency of comprehending the basic concepts of fractions found in grade II students. These problems indicate the requirement for enhancing interactive and contextual learning media such as ethnomathematics-based fraction pop-up book media. So, this research aims to see the quality of ethnomathematics-based fraction pop-up book media that is feasible in terms of validity and practicality. This research was performed at SD Negeri 1 Salakan Bantul, with the research subjects being grade II students totalling 22 students. This study uses R&D research using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The data collection techniques used were observation, interview, and questionnaire. The data analysis technique used qualitative and quantitative analysis. The outcomes showed that the ethnomathematics-based fraction pop-up book media met the valid and practical criteria. This can be found in the validation result by media experts and material experts who show "Very Valid" criteria, with a percentage value of media experts of 97.33% and material experts of 93.33%. The assessment was also undertaken regarding the practicality of utilizing the product that showed the criteria ''Very Practical'' by acquiring teacher response scores of 98.67% and students of 98.63%. Based on the data fulfilled, it can be concluded that the ethnomathematics-based fraction pop-up book media is feasible in terms use as an alternative learning media in learning mathematics fraction material in grade II elementary school. Fraction pop-up book media based on ethnomathematics can strengthen comprehension of fraction material by integrating local culture.

Abstract

Less contextual mathematics instruction can lead to low levels of students’ mathematical critical thinking skills. One effort to address this problem is the use of e-worksheets based on ethno-modelling integrated with the Tri-N approach. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of ethno-modelling–based e-worksheets combined with the Tri-N approach in improving students’ mathematical critical thinking skills. This research employed a quantitative method with a single-phase time series design.  This research employed a quantitative method with a single-phase time series design, conducted on 11 seventh-grade students at SMP PIRI 2 Yogyakarta. The research subjects were selected using purposive sampling based on specific criteria aligned with the research objectives. Data were collected through interviews, observations, mathematical critical thinking tests during the intervention phase, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted descriptively with the assistance of Microsoft Excel to identify trends in the improvement of students’ mathematical critical thinking scores over time. The results showed an increase in the average score of students’ mathematical critical thinking skills, from 89.77 at the initial meeting to 97.73 at the final meeting. This improvement demonstrates a consistent positive trend, indicating that the use of ethno-modelling–based e-worksheets integrated with the Tri-N approach can significantly impact students’ mathematical critical thinking abilities. Therefore, ethno-modelling–based e-worksheets combined with the Tri-N approach can be considered an innovative and contextual alternative learning medium in mathematics instruction.

Abstract

Tri-N or Niteni, Nirokake, Nambahi (observing, imitating, adding) is a learning approach initiated by the Father of Indonesian Education, Ki Hadjar Dewantara. Tri-N is an adaptable approach that is easy to apply in every learning material, including mathematics. This research and development aims to develop an e-worksheet based on Tri-N for system of linear equations in two variables to improve junior high school students' creative thinking skills using the Liveworksheet Platform. The study employed the ADDIE development model, with stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation although it was limited to the development stage to focus on validity and practicality. The results of this research include: (1) an e-worksheet based on Tri-N in a two-variable linear equation system has been produced to improve the creative thinking skills of junior high school students, (2) the validity test of the e-worksheet developed shows that 98.60% is categorized as very valid, and (3) the practicality test of the e-worksheet shows that 67.14% of students strongly agree and 31.90% of students agree on each aspect of the assessment. So, it can be concluded that e-worksheet based on Tri-N in a two-variable linear equation system is valid and practical for improving junior high school students' creative thinking skills. It is hoped that the research can become a reference in further research to test the effectiveness of the e-worksheet.

Abstract

This article aims to identify and categorize the competency profiles of teachers who participated in the mathematical “GEMBIRA” training in supporting mathematics instruction and strengthening the numeracy program in Indonesia. The study employed a quantitative survey method with a case study approach involving 2,450 teacher respondents. The research instruments were based on three key dimensions: (1) mindset, skillset, toolset, and professional attitudes; (2) implementation of “GEMBIRA” learning; and (3) understanding and implementation of the numeracy program. Data analysis was conducted in two stages. First, descriptive analysis was used to classify teacher competencies into four levels: emerging, developing, proficient, and transformative. Second, K-Means cluster analysis was applied to identify patterns and group teachers based on similarities in their characteristics and competencies. The findings revealed that most teachers were at the transformative level, followed by the proficient level, while only a very small number remained at the developing level. Furthermore, cluster analysis identified three main competency groups: high, medium, and basic. Although the majority of teachers demonstrated high competency, the presence of medium and basic groups indicates the need for targeted capacity-building efforts. Overall, the study highlights the importance of continuous professional development to optimize numeracy learning implementation.
