Abstract

The results of several studies show that the critical thinking abilities of elementary school students in Indonesia are still relatively low. Therefore, this research aims to train elementary school students' critical thinking skills. This research is pre-experimental research using One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research instrument used was a pre-test and post-test critical thinking ability test which was processed using the N-Gain formula to measure the influence of the RADEC learning model on students' critical thinking abilities before and after learning activities. The results of the research show that, in terms of critical thinking indicators, the aspects of simple explanation, development of basic skills, concluding, strategy and tactics, have an N-Gain score in the high category, which shows that students' critical thinking skills increase in the high category with an N-Gain score of 0.8 . Meanwhile, for further explanation, it has a value of 0.6 N-Gain in the medium category, which shows that students' critical thinking abilities have increased in the medium category. It can be concluded that the simple explanation aspect is lower than other aspects in students' critical thinking abilities. This shows that students experience a high and moderate increase in critical thinking skills after implementing RADEC-based learning and completing the pre-test and post-test, so that the application of the RADEC-based E-Module is very good for training or improving students' critical thinking skills. critical thinking skills. The E-Module application being developed still needs to be improved in the form of a more attractive presentation and can add more detailed explanations such as commands, tasks, etc.

Abstract

Education for children of Indonesian citizens (WNI) who do not have residence documents in Malaysia is a critical issue that needs attention by the government. Children of Indonesian citizens who do not have legal educational documents are constrained from obtaining their rights to education in Malaysia. One form of attention given by the government is to provide educational services for all citizens, including Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia through the Rumah Kita program and Indonesian learning studios in Malaysia. And based on information, the number of non-formal educators is still limited, both in terms of qualifications and competence. This research was conducted with the aim of developing digital media and teaching materials oriented to gamification and learning independence for non-document Indonesian children in Malaysia. The research method used is Design and Development (D&D) using the ADDIE model. At the development stage, the Multimedia Prototype learning media has feasibility that is validated by experts. This research was conducted by producing a reference digital learning resource for the fulfillment of non-documentary basic literacy of Indonesian children in Malaysia. The subjects for assessing media and learning resources were three expert lecturers consisting of elementary school literacy experts, media experts, and elementary school learning content experts. In this paper, researchers will reveal the level of feasibility of media and digital learning resources for non-documented Indonesian children in Malaysia. The three experts who were the subject of the evaluation of the products developed in general stated that these digital media and learning resources were appropriate and good for use in fulfilling the basic literacy of non-document Indonesian children in Malaysia, but there needed to be a forum in the form of a website that would be used as a form of well-administered learning resource center for each media and teaching materials.

Abstract

This study addresses the pressing need to improve students' comprehension of the greenhouse effect by leveraging innovative website-based Augmented Reality (AR) learning media. The purpose is to explore the effectiveness of this media in mitigating misconceptions surrounding the greenhouse effect while providing practical solutions for educators. The research methodology combines qualitative Design and Development (DD) approaches with quantitative measures to comprehensively evaluate the impact of AR learning media on students' understanding. Results demonstrate a significant increase of over 50% in student comprehension post-media use, validated by expert assessments and positive teacher feedback. Students reported overcoming prior misconceptions through the media's interactive approach. The study emphasizes the necessity of identifying key elements for effective AR learning, recommending comprehensive teacher training, content updates, and long-term impact assessments. The holistic approach employed unveils insights into how learning media can effectively reduce misconceptions, thereby enhancing awareness of crucial environmental issues like the greenhouse effect.

Abstract

The study aims to examine the effect of STEM-oriented learning on science literacy skills in elementary school students. This study employed quasi-experimental research. The study population was all Sekolah Dasar Negeri Mungkid 2 students. The sample of this research was the entire students of Class IV SDN Mungkid 2 which totaled 16 students. The samples were obtained through a purposive sampling technique. The results of data on students' scientific literacy abilities were obtained through pretest and posttest activities. The data were then analyzed using SPSS Statistics 20. Data processing was started with a normality test, paired sample t test, hypothesis test, and N-gain test. The results of this study showed that implementation of STEM-oriented learning has proven to influence of elementary school students’ science literacy skills.

Abstract

Technology nowadays has undergone continuous innovation, and its use has grown considerably in society. One form of integration of technology into learning is through natural science learning. Studies on perception of prospective elementary school teachers on the use of technology in natural science learning is still under-research. Thus, this research aims to unravel perceptions and preparations of prospective elementary school teachers for the use of technology in natural science learning and how such perceptions and preparations can influence how natural science learning will be implemented in the future. This research used a descriptive method, and data collection was carried out via a questionnaire. The subjects of research were students of the 5th semester and higher during the odd semester of the academic year 2022/2023 of PGSD Study Program at Universitas Negeri as prospective elementary school teachers. It can be concluded that the prospective elementary school teachers have a good perception of the use of technology in natural science learning. The perceptions discussed include knowledge about technology, knowledge about learning science, experience using technology in learning, the factor of the necessity of using technology in learning science, the benefits of technology in learning science, and types of technology that are appropriate for learning science.

Abstract

The scientific literacy of students must be enhanced, for it can serve as a foundation for high-quality individual in science. This research's objective is to develop and examine the effect of Big Book on students' scientific literacy. This research is anticipated to provide knowledge and insights regarding the development of Big Book as the media in learning and to enhance the scientific literacy of students. In this research, the Design and Development Research (D&D) method with the ADDIE model was utilized. The results demonstrated that Big Book can be utilized effectively by students. Additionally, students were enthusiastic about learning using Big Book. This shows that the development of Big Book can enhance the scientific literacy of students.

Abstract

Abstract: Parents' attention to children has a relationship with the psychology of a child which later also makes it possible to motivate children in learning. This research was conducted with the aim of examining the effect of parental attention on the learning motivation of 4th grade elementary school students in an elementary school in the Yogyakarta region. Conducted with the type of descriptive research with a correlation approach. In this study the population used was all fourth grade students in one of the elementary schools in the Yogyakarta area. Using three ways of data collection in the form of observation, interviews, and filling out questionnaires. Based on the results of the study, the results showed that there was a relationship between the variables of parental attention and the learning motivation of fourth grade students. This is evidenced by a significant value of 0.009 less than 0.05. The relationship that occurs between the two variables is in the low category, as evidenced by the Pearson correlation value of 0.35. Thus, the parental attention variable with the learning motivation variable has a correlation with a low degree of relationship and a positive relationship. Abstrak: Perhatian orang tua kepada anak memiliki keterkaitan dengan psikologi seorang anak yang nantinya juga memungkinkan untuk dapat motivasi anak dalam belajar. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menguji pengaruh perhatian orang tua terhadap motivasi belajar siswa kelas 4 SD di salah satu SD di wilayah Yogyakarta. Dilakukan dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan korelasi. Pada penelitian ini populasi yang digunakan adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV di salah satu SD di wilayah Yogyakarta. Menggunakan tiga cara pengambilan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan pengisian kuesioner. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, didapatkan hasil terdapat keterkaitan antara variabel perhatian orang tua dengan motivasi belajar siswa kelas IV. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan nilai yang signifikan yaitu 0,009 kurang dari 0,05. Hubungan yang terjadi antara kedua variabel termasuk kategori rendah, dibuktikan dengan nilai pearson correlation sebesar 0,35. Dengan demikian, variabel perhatian orang tua dengan variabel motivasi belajar memiliki korelasi dengan derajat hubungan rendah dan bentuk hubungannya positif.

Abstract

Abstract: This article discusses the curriculum's role in improving education quality in Indonesia. The curriculum contains a set of plans and regulations regarding objectives, content, and methods of teaching that serve as guidelines for organizing learning activities to achieve national education goals. It is designed to anticipate future developments and enhance pedagogical innovation. The curriculum has evolved to include lesson plans and learning experiences, indicating its essential role in formal and non-formal education programs. The article concludes that curriculum is essential for educational progress and change, and teachers play an important role in its implementation. However, curriculum changes are needed to keep up with the times, and teachers must adapt. The Indonesian education system's curriculum has changed over time, and the article provides an overview of the previous curriculum, Curriculum 2013, and the current curriculum, Merdeka Belajar. Finally, this article highlights teachers' challenges in implementing curriculum. Abstrak: Artikel ini membahas peran kurikulum dalam peningkatan mutu pendidikan di Indonesia. Kurikulum memuat seperangkat rencana dan peraturan mengenai tujuan, isi, dan cara pengajaran yang menjadi pedoman dalam menyelenggarakan kegiatan pembelajaran untuk mencapai tujuan pendidikan nasional. Ini dirancang untuk mengantisipasi perkembangan masa depan dan meningkatkan inovasi pedagogis. Kurikulum telah berevolusi untuk memasukkan tidak hanya rencana pembelajaran tetapi juga pengalaman belajar, yang menunjukkan peran pentingnya dalam program pendidikan formal dan nonformal. Artikel tersebut menyimpulkan bahwa kurikulum sangat penting untuk kemajuan dan perubahan pendidikan, dan guru memainkan peran penting dalam pelaksanaannya. Namun, perubahan kurikulum diperlukan untuk mengikuti perkembangan zaman, dan guru harus beradaptasi dengan perubahan tersebut. Kurikulum sistem pendidikan Indonesia telah mengalami perubahan dari waktu ke waktu, dan artikel tersebut memberikan gambaran tentang kurikulum sebelumnya, Kurikulum 2013, dan kurikulum saat ini, Merdeka Belajar. Terakhir, artikel ini menyoroti tantangan yang dihadapi guru dalam mengimplementasikan kurikulum sebagai alat pengajaran.

Abstract

Abstract: Based on the observations made on grade V students of SDN Turi 2, it was found that the teacher used the lecture method, making students less active and interactive with learning. These observations show that the teacher has implemented learning with the role-play method in social studies learning. Applying the role-play method made students more enjoyable in learning and learning to develop character in themselves. This research uses qualitative research with descriptive studies. The results showed that 88.5 percent of students had an attitude of responsibility, 61.6 percent had an attitude of discipline, 42 percent had a character of hard work, and 80.9 percent had an attitude of cooperation. Abstrak: Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang dilakukan pada siswa kelas V SDN Turi 2 ditemukan permasalahan pada guru yang menggunakan metode ceramah, hal ini membuat siswa menjadi kurang aktif dan interaktif dengan pembelajaran. Dari hasil observasi tersebut, didapatkan hasil bahwa guru telah melaksanakan pembelajaran dengan metode role play pada pembelajaran IPS. Penerapan metode role play didapatkan hasil siswa menjadi lebih menyenangkan dalam pembelajaran dan belajar mengembangkan karakter dalam diri. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan studi deskriptif. Hasil penelitian didapatkan hasil 88,5 persen siswa memiliki sikap tanggung jawab, 61,6 persen memiliki sikap disiplin, 42 persen memiliki karakter kerja keras dan 80,9 persen memiliki sikap kerja sama.

Abstract

Abstract: Interest in reading can encourage a person to expand their knowledge. Reading is essential and significant in achieving educational success in various career fields. The need to foster interest in reading in elementary school students to become an asset in their lives. The TikTok application is widely used in all walks of life. This application is very influential in everyday people's lives. This study aims to determine the reading interest index of elementary school students with the TikTok application. This research method uses descriptive research. Data were collected using questionnaires, interviews, and observations in several elementary schools. The results of this study, namely, the pleasure of reading, reached 57.69 percent, while the pleasure of reading reached 53.23 percent. On the usefulness indicator of using TikTok, 47.43 percent did not agree that the TikTok application was proper. In contrast, on the motivational indicator of reading with TikTok, 49.57 percent said they disagreed that there was motivation to read on the TikTok application. The study results show that the reading interest index of elementary school students is in the medium category, and the TikTok application does not affect increasing students' reading interest. Abstrak: Minat baca dapat mendorong seseorang orang untuk memperluas ilmu pengetahuan. Membaca sangat diperlukan dalam kehidupan yang menjadi modal besar dalam mencapai kesuksesan pendidikan dengan karir berbagai bidang. Perlunya pemupukan minat baca pada siswa sekolah dasar untuk menjadi modal dalam kehidupannya. Aplikasi TikTok banyak digunakan di segala kalangan masyarakat. Aplikasi ini sangat berpengaruh dalam kehidupan masyarakat sehari-hari. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui indeks minat baca siswa sekolah dasar dengan adanya aplikasi TikTok. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan cara menggunakan angket, wawancara, serta observasi sekolah pada beberapa sekolah dasar. Hasil dari penelitian ini, yaitu indikator kesenangan membaca mencapai 57.69 persen, sedangkan kesenangan membaca mencapai 53.23 persen. Pada indikator kebermanfaatan penggunaan TikTok mencapai 47,43 persen tidak setuju aplikasi TikTok bermanfaat, sedangkan pada indikator motivasi membaca dengan TikTok mencapai 49, 57 persen menyatakan tidak setuju adanya motivasi minat membaca pada aplikasi TikTok. Maka dari hasil penelitian menunjukan indek minat baca siswa sekolah dasar pada kategori sedang, serta aplikasi TikTok tidak berpengaruh dalam peningkatan minat baca siswa.
