Abstract

Poetry is an artistic expression that uses words creatively and rhythmically. It is a way to convey feelings, thoughts, or experiences through specially selected language to create an aesthetic impression, rhythm, and beauty. Poetry can be an expression of deep feelings, a picture of nature, a narrative about life, or simply a reflection of various aspects of life. The purpose of this study was to determine the connotative meaning in Sundanese poetry entitled Do'a Untuk Guru by Kustian. The method in this study is a qualitative method, with data collection through reading, understanding, and translating. The result of this study is 1 type of associative meaning found in the poem entitled "Prayer for the Teacher" namely connotative meaning, social meaning, affective meaning, reflective meaning, and colloquial meaning. There are 3 lines of poetry containing connotative meanings, 2 lines of poems containing social meanings, 4 lines of poems containing affective meanings, 4 lines of poems containing reflective meanings, and 4 lines of poems containing colloquial meanings according to Leech's theory. AbstrakPuisi adalah ungkapan seni yang menggunakan kata-kata secara kreatif dan berirama. Ini adalah cara untuk menyampaikan perasaan, pemikiran, atau pengalaman melalui penggunaan bahasa yang dipilih secara khusus untuk menciptakan kesan estetika, ritme, dan keindahan. Puisi bisa berupa ekspresi perasaan yang mendalam, gambaran alam, narasi tentang kehidupan, atau sekadar refleksi dari berbagai aspek kehidupan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui makna konotatif dalam puisi bahasa Sunda yang berjudul “Do’a Pikeun Guru” karya Kustian. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui membaca, memahami, dan menerjemahkan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah jenis makna asosiatif yang ditemukan dalam puisi berjudul “Doa Pikeun Guru” yaitu makna konotatif, makna sosial, makna afektif, makna reflektif dan makna kolokatif. Dalam puisi tersebut, terdapat 3 baris puisi yang mengandung jenis makna konotatif, 2 baris puisi yang mengandung jenis makna sosial, 4 baris puisi yang mengandung jenis makna afektif, 4 baris puisi yang mengandung jenis makna reflektif, dan 4 baris puisi yang mengandung makna kolokatif menurut teori Leech.

Abstract

This research was conducted due to the lack of public awareness in appreciating literary works that are full of social values. The purpose of this study is to describe the social elements contained in the novel Surat Wasiat by Samsoedi. In this research, the descriptive analysis method is used, which involves collecting data from the novel Surat Wasiat, analyzing the collected data, and presenting a description of the data. The main source of data in this research comes from the novel Surat Wasiat.  The data obtained is a record of the results of analyzing the literature that has been studied. The results of this study identified three social dimensions, including religious, economic, and educational aspects. In the religious social dimension, three related elements were identified, including 1) belief in Allah Swt, 2) obeying His commands, and 3) sincere attitude and gratitude to Him. In the social dimension of education, there are six elements, including 1) ethics, 2) respect, 3) patriotism, 4) peace, 5) avoiding envy and jealousy, and 6) complying with prevailing social norms. AbstrakPenelitian ini dilakukan karena kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam menghargai karya sastra yang sarat dengan nilai-nilai sosial. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguraikan elemen-elemen sosial yang terdapat dalam novel Surat Wasiat karya Samsoedi. Dalam penelitian ini, digunakan metode analisis deskriptif yang melibatkan pengumpulan data dari novel Surat Wasiat, proses analisis terhadap data yang terhimpun, serta penyajian deskripsi dari data tersebut. Sumber utama data dalam penelitian ini berasal dari novel Surat Wasiat.  Data yang didapatkan adalah catatan dari hasil analisis literatur yang telah diteliti. Hasil dari penelitian ini mengidentifikasi tiga dimensi sosial, meliputi aspek keagamaan, ekonomi, dan pendidikan. Dalam dimensi sosial keagamaan, teridentifikasi tiga elemen terkait, termasuk 1) keyakinan pada Allah Swt, 2) mematuhi perintah-Nya, serta 3) sikap ikhlas dan rasa syukur kepada-Nya. Dalam dimensi sosial pendidikan, terdapat enam unsur, di antaranya 1) etika, 2) sikap menghargai, 3) patriotisme, 4) kedamaian, 5) menghindari rasa iri dan dengki, serta 6) patuh pada norma-norma sosial yang berlaku.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the conflict phenomenon and types, also its resolution efforts made by the main character in the novel Panganten by Deden Abdul Aziz. The descriptive-qualitative research uses Karen Horney's literary psychology approach (psychoanalysis theory), which emphasizes that literature is a reflection of society, to analyze the data. The data analysis technique of this research is interpretative descriptive analysis. The results show that there are interpersonal conflicts between characters in this novel and intrapsychic conflicts consisting of despised real self, real self, ideal self, and actual self. In addition, conflict resolution efforts that occur in this novel are approaching others, fighting others, and staying away from others. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan fenomena, jenis, dan upaya penyelesaian konflik yang dilakukan oleh karakter utama dalam novel Panganten karya Deden Abdul Aziz. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan psikologi sastra Karen Horney yang menekankan bahwa sastra merupakan cerminan masyarakat. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan teori psikoanalisis sosial Karen Horney ini menggunakan pendekatan psikologi sastra untuk menganalisis datanya. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini adalah teknik analisis deskriptif interpretatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat konflik interpersonal antartokoh dalam novel dan konflik intrapsikis yang terdiri atas diri rendah (despised real self), diri nyata (real self), diri ideal (ideal self), dan diri aktual (actual self). Di samping itu, upaya penyelesaian konflik yang terjadi dalam novel ini adalah mendekati orang lain, melawan orang lain, dan menjauhi orang lain.

Abstract

The goal of 21st century learning is that students are expected to have higher order thinking skills. But in fact, students' high-level thinking skills in Indonesia are still worrying. Based on that, this study aims to understand aspects of higher order thinking and describe its application in the content contained in textbooks in schools. In analyzing and describing content that has high-level thinking content, (1) cognitive level, (2) stimulus elements, and (3) contextual elements will be analyzed. This research method uses descriptive analytic method with a qualitative approach. The techniques used in this research are documents and notes. The text book used in this study is the Simpay Basa Sunda book at the VIII grade junior high school level. The results of this study contained 413 data whose details were (1) various cognitive levels in the book there were 72.39% at level 1 (knowledge and understanding), 9.68% at level 2 (application), and 17.91% at level 3 (reasoning). (2) the stimulus elements in this book are dominated by verbal stimuli totaling 323 stimuli, then visual stimuli totaling 1 stimulus. (3) there are 114 contextual elements in this book with a percentage of 28%. It can be concluded that this book can support the development of higher-order thinking skills, and can also support the ongoing 21st century learning process. However, it must be noted that this can be developed further by increasing the content containing HOTS.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to reveal the direct meaning or conceptual meaning and figurative meaning or associative meaning. The method used in this research is analytical descriptive method with data collection techniques by literature review, namely looking for the data needed and then recording it so that there are six data used which are sourced from several libraries namely “Kamus Bahasa Sunda R.A. Danadibrata”, “Kamus Idiom Sunda-Indonesia”, and “Peperenian Urang Sunda”. The data used were Ngadaun seureuh, Bitis Jaksi Sajantung, Mucuk Eurih, Lambey Jeruk Sapasi, Pipi Kadu Sapasi and Héjo Carulang. The analysis technique starts from collecting data, reducing the initial data and analyzing the data used in this study. The result of this study is to reveal that the conceptual meaning does not show the standard of beauty in Sundanese language but refers to the plant used as a simile, but the standard of beauty can be found when looking by means of associative meaning or figurative meaning that is continuous with the referred flora. The beauty is borrowed from the form or nature of the flora used in the idiom.  AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkap makna langsung atau makna konseptual dan makna kiasan atau makna asosiatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deksriptif analitis dengan teknik pengumpulan data dengan tinjauan pustaka yakni mencari data yang dibutuhkan lalu mencatatnya sehingga terdapat enam data yang digunakan yang bersumber dari beberapa pustaka yakni “Kamus Bahasa Sunda R.A. Danadibrata”, “Kamus Idiom Sunda-Indonesia”, dan “Peperenian Urang Sunda”. Data yang digunakan adalah Ngadaun seureuh, Bitis Jaksi Sajantung, Mucuk Eurih, Lambey Jeruk Sapasi, Pipi Kadu Sapasi dan Héjo Carulang. Teknik analisis dimulai dari pengumpulan data, mereduksi data awal dan menganalisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah mengungkap bahwa makna konseptual tidak menunjukan standar kecantikan dalam bahasa Sunda melainkan merujuk pada tanaman yang digunakan sebagai perumpamaan, namun standar kecantikan tersebut dapat ditemukan apabila melihat dengan cara makna asosiatif atau makna kiasan yang berkesinambungan dengan flora yang dirujuk. Kecantikan tersebut dipinjam dari bentuk atau sifat flora yang digunakan dalam idiom tersebut.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to see the similarity of Bandung, Karawang, and Ciamis dialects. The Bandung dialect was chosen as a lulugu or standard language, the Karawang dialect as a region that may have been influenced by the Betawi Malay language, and the Ciamis dialect as one of the historical centers of the Sunda kingdom during the Galuh period in 1371-1475 AD. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method with the data collection technique used is phenomenological document technique. Document techniques sourced from notes, books, and research data that has been done to strengthen interview data. While the phenomenological technique in question is the inventory of glosses that are determined in reality in the field. So that 6 glosses are obtained to be studied, and become 6 sets of phonemic correspondence from the 3 dialects that have been selected. The analysis shows that there are 9 phonemic correspondences with details: /l~h/, /u~a/, /s~Ø/, /a~Ø/, /b~w/, /g~k/, /au~ɔ/, /k~Ø/, /r~Ø/. From the 9 correspondences, 3 language groups were formed, namely DB, DK+DC as group 1; DB, DC+DK as group 2; and DK, DC+DB as group 3. AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat kelompok dialek Bandung, Karawang, dan Ciamis. Dipilihnya dialek Bandung sebagai bahasa lulugu atau standar, dialek Karawang sebagai wilayah yang kemungkinan terpengaruhi oleh bahasa Melayu Betawi, dan dialek Ciamis sebagai salah satu  pusat sejarah kerajaan Sunda pada masa Galuh tahun 1371–1475 M. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik dokumen fenomenologis. Teknik dokumen yang bersumber dari catatan, buku, serta data penelitian yang pernah dilakukan untuk menguatkan data wawancara. Sedangkan teknik fenomenologis yang dimaksud adalah penginventarisasian glos yang ditentukan secara nyata di lapangan. Sehingga didapatkan 6 glos yang akan diteliti, dan menjadi 6 perangkat korespondensi fonemis dari 3 dialek yang telah dipilih. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya 9 korespondensi fonemis dengan rincian: /l~h/, /u~a/, /s~Ø/, /a~Ø/, /b~w/, /g~k/, /au~ɔ/, /k~Ø/, /r~Ø/. Dari 9 korespondensi tersebut, terbentuk 3 kelompok bahasa, yaitu DB, DK+DC sebagai kelompok 1; DB, DC+DK sebagai kelompok 2; dan DK, DC+DB sebagai kelompok 3.

Abstract

Education plays an important role in the development of a country. To achieve optimal educational goals, effective curriculum development is essential. In Indonesia, the introduction of the Merdeka Curriculum aims to improve the quality of learning in schools. To achieve quality learning, it is important to understand the elements of education. The elements of education include (1) students, (2) educators, (3) educational interactions between students and educators, (4) educational goals, (5) educational materials/contents (curriculum), (6) tools and methods, and (7) educational environment. The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Sundanese and Balinese Language Learning is still under development. Abstract

Cultural elements, such as proverbs, hold deeply rooted educational values that have been integral to shaping societal norms and practices. These values can be utilized to educate children and build their character from an early age, whether through formal or nonformal education, guided by parents or teachers. In Islamic education, the integration of cultural values has been extensively studied and discussed. This study aims to explore how the values embedded in Sundanese culture can serve as a foundation for educating children from an Islamic perspective. Through a qualitative approach, the research examines Sundanese proverbs and their alignment with Islamic educational principles, focusing on the roles of parents, teachers, and educational institutions in characterbuilding. The study finds that educating children based on Sundanese values within an Islamic framework requires a comprehensive understanding of both cultural and religious teachings. A key element is the pivotal role of mothers as primary role models, supported by teachers and schools, to nurture children who are devoted to Allah and possess noble character. This research highlights the importance of integrating Sundanese cultural values with Islamic educational principles to create a holistic approach to character education. It underscores the collaborative roles of family, educators, and society in fostering a generation rooted in cultural wisdom and Islamic ethics.

Abstract

The existence of regional languages currently continues to decrease the number of speakers. Transformation into digital form as an alignment of the smart society 5.0 era is considered a preventive measure to prevent this condition from worsening. This paper aims to explain how the Merdeka Curriculum for Sundanese Language Subjects Towards the Era of Smart Society 5.0. Smart Society 5.0 was initiated to solve various kinds of issues in all fields of human life. To realize a revolution, it is necessary to have a lot of capital as a foundation, in this case improving the quality of human resources owned by Indonesia is crucial. There are 5 important domains in developing the quality of human resources: professionalism, ability to compete, functional competence, participatory excellence, and cooperation.
