Abstract

Critical thinking skills are important in sharing aspects of life in the current and future era of globalization and information. An important aspect of critical thinking is literacy. Literacy abilities within the scope of Natural Sciences refer to scientific literacy. The critical thinking test results show that students' critical thinking components must still be developed. This paper discusses developing and validating a critical thinking measurement instrument for prospective science-biology teacher students based on Megapodidae bird ecotourism. The aim is to develop and assess the validity, reliability, and characteristics of critical thinking skills instruments so that they can be used to measure critical thinking skills in Science-Biology prospective teacher students. Product development in the form of critical thinking skills test instruments in Biology learning for prospective teacher students at FKIP Unram. Instrument development is carried out in four steps: identifying indicators, developing collection items, making validity checks, and improving item quality. Instrument validation is by a learning expert from FKIP Unram. Essay form questions consist of 21 items with difficulty levels at medium and high levels. The results of expert validation analysis using Aiken's V method for each aspect are classified as valid with a value of 0.79. The instrument developed can be used as a valid and reliable measure of critical thinking ability.

Abstract

Rengginang is one of the traditional foods of the archipelago that has been consumed as a snack or main food since time immemorial. At the first rengginang is a food made from the rest of rice that does not run out, rather than being wasted in rice, it is processed into savory and crunchy food in the form of rengginang. Usually the processing is very simple, it is only dried by drying and frying and can be consumed immediately. Along with the time the tasty and crunchy food is very popular with consumers, so that the prestige of rengginang extends among the community and becomes one of the business opportunities for the culprit, especially the housewife, namely Mrs. Darmini. This science and technology for the community has a positive effect on partners and other business people that the importance of using simple technology is effective, thus increasing the production process of rice. The introduction and administration of a sealer is also very important to maintain the quality of the rengginang. Besides that, the need for legality of business such as P-IRT to ensure food security for consumers. This science and technology activity for the community is expected to continue as an effort to provide coaching and mentoring for micro-businesses that have the prospect of being able to survive and develop in the future

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relevance of food consumer behavior in an effort to achieve food sovereignty for farming families based on local wisdom in the management of swamp swamps in Kab. OganKomeringIlir, South Sumatra. The sampling method used in this study uses a purposive sampling method. There is a significant relevance between local wisdom and efforts to realize sustainable food sovereignty in Bangsal Village, meaning that food sovereignty is realized because of local wisdom that has been carried out for years which is still being applied by most of the swamp lebak farmers in Bangsal Village. Based on the results of field research that has been discussed and analyzed, it can be concluded that the management of lebak swamp land in Bangsal Village is used for three activities, namely buffalo farming, fish management, and rice cultivation.

Abstract

Rawa Taliwang Lake is one of the lakes in West Sumbawa Regency which is surrounded by mining. Mining waste in the form of mercury can accumulate in tilapia fish which are consumed by many people around the lake consumption of tilapia fish with mercury content can endanger health. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of mercury in tilapia fish from Rawa Taliwang Lake. This research was conducted for six months, starting from September 2022 to March 2023. Sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling method using 2 station points. The samples used were 3 fish taken from station 1 and station 2. Sample analysis was carried out in the analytical laboratory and environmental of West Nusa Tenggara using AAS (atomic absorption spectrophotometry). The part that was analyzed was the tilapia fish meat. The results of the analysis showed that the mercury content in tilapia fish from Rawa Taliwang Lake was 0.73 mg/kg which exceeded the Hg contamination limit set by the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency regulation no 9 of 2022. So tilapia fish from Rawa Taliwang Lake was unfit for consumption. The results of this study can be used as additional material in the learning process of ecotoxicology

Abstract

This study aims to elaborate on indigenous science contained in the use of materials for making bale adat based on scientific concepts. This study is a literature study with data sources from previous research articles that have topics related to ethnoscience learning, indigenous science in the tradition of materials for making bale adat, and the potential for integration of indigenous science in learning natural sciences. The procedure in literature study research is carried out in stages, namely collecting library data, reading, taking notes, studying, collecting concepts or manuscripts, then carrying out elaboration and explanation of the collected data/text. The study results show that (1) bale adat typical of the Sasak tribe consists of several types, namely bale beleq bencingah, bale bonter, bale tani, bale jajar, bale tajuk, berugag (sekepat-sekenam); (2) Indigenous science in the materials for making bale adat, namely: a) the foundation for bale adat is made from a mixture of clay, tree sap, straw ash or rice husk, and buffalo dung mixed with water, b) floor of bale adat periodically smeared with buffalo dung mixed with water to reduce humidity, c) the walls of bale adat or room covering are made of woven bamboo slats known as the local term pager, d) woven pagers are made of ampel bamboo with various motifs and sometimes to beautify the pager , the material used is spotted bamboo which has colorful bark, d) teken, ampak, lampen, and langkar used in the bale adat are made from the part of the tree that is believed to be the strongest or known locally as kayu galih, e) roof made of weeds leaves woven into bamboo frame clips which are split into small pieces; (3) indigenous science in the materials for making bale adat can be integrated into the school science learning concept, namely in the material: a) material on network structure and function, as well as technology inspired by plant structure , b) material properties and utilization of materials in everyday life.

Abstract

Rawa Lake Taliwang is the lifeblood of the West Sumbawa Regency community. The lake is surrounded by extensive agricultural areas, making the activities of local farmers a significant contributor to the accumulation of heavy metals in the region. This study aims to determine the cadmium (Cd) content in snakehead fish (Channa striata ) and assess its suitability for consumption. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling with direct observation at Lake Rawa Taliwang . Nets or traps were employed at two stations, with two replications at each station. Data analysis involved calculating the cadmium content in the laboratory using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS). The results revealed that the cadmium concentration in snakehead fish from Lake Rawa Taliwang was 0.45 mg/kg (ppm). This concentration exceeds the permissible limit for metal contamination in food, as stated in BPOM Regulation Number 9 of 2022. As a result, the snakehead fish is deemed unfit for consumption.

Abstract

The presence of heavy metals in Lake Rawa Taliwang can originate from various activities in the upstream river, around settlements, and within the lake itself. Mercury (Hg) is a highly toxic heavy metal due to its neurotoxic nature, affecting both organisms and humans. One of the fish found in Lake Rawa Taliwang is the swamp eel. Swamp eels are often caught for consumption and cultured by the local community. This study aims to determine the mercury (Hg) concentration in swamp eels (Monopterus albus) and assess their suitability for consumption. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling technique at two stations with two replications at each station. Data analysis involved determining mercury concentration in the swamp eel samples using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS). The results showed that the mercury concentration in swamp eels from Lake Rawa Taliwang was 0.13 mg/kg. According to the BPOM regulation no. 9 of 2022, the mercury concentration in these swamp eels is still below the permissible limit for metal contamination in food. This indicates that swamp eels were taken from Lake Rawa Taliwang is safe for consumption.
