Abstract

Diseases caused by parasites, especially worms in animals on farms, are one of the problems that farmers often face. Worm disease can decrease the productivity of livestock and cause a decrease in the selling value of livestock at the market. The most common worm disease that attacks livestock is Paramphistomum sp. The treatment of this disease uses nutritious plants, which is one of the alternatives chosen to minimize side effects due to the administration of synthetic drugs. Kadamba leaf was chosen in this study because one of the medical plants that have potential compounds as anthelmintics. The aim of this research is to know the anthelmintic activity of kadamba leaf extract to Paramphistomum sp. 210 samples of Paramphistomum sp. were taken from cow rumen at Tanah Merah slaughterhouses. This study was conducted in vitro with seven experimental groups consisting of one positive control (Albendazole), one negative control (NaCl), and five groups of kadamba leaf extract with concentrations of 2,5%, 5%, 7,5%, 10 %, 12,5% with three replications. The results of the study showed the yield of kadamba leaf extract was 13,88%, and the anthelmintic test showed that kadamba leaf extract had anthelmintic activity against Paramphistomum sp. at all concentrations.

Abstract

Traditional medicine has the opportunity to be used in preventive promotive efforts, especially to maintain immunity as one of the cultural traditions of the community that has been passed down from generation to generation by utilizing local wisdom. The diversity of medicinal plants that exist in East Kalimantan encourages the community to play an active role in processing and developing these plants into products that can help maintain health. One village that has a vision and mission to improve the quality of agricultural, animal husbandry, plantation and fisheries as well as developing human resources in the village is Sukaraja Village. Education on the utilization of natural medicinal substances into pharmaceutical preparations is carried out using power point media using the lecture method. This activity ran smoothly which was shown by the enthusiasm of the people of Sukaraja Village in listening to explanations and actively asking the speakers, especially regarding various kinds of medicinal plants that have the potential to be made into pharmaceutical preparations so that they are able to develop products based on natural ingredients in a variety of ways and can become a mainstay commodity by utilizing plants originating from natural materials around Sukaraja Village.

Abstract

Tumbuhan Bajakah dengan nama ilmiah Uncaria nervosa Elmer merupakan salah satu tumbuhan yang berasal dari pulau Kalimantan, dan digunakan oleh masyarakat Dayak sebagai obat tradisonal. Telah dilakukan berbagai penelitian yang menyajikan infomasi aktivitas tumbuhan akar bajakah dapat mengobati berbagai penyakit degeneratif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terkandung pada ekstrak metanol dan ekstrak partisi n-heksan akar Bajakah melalui skrining fitokimia dan profil KLT. Ekstraksi dilakukan menggunakan metanol dengan cara maserasi dan nilai rendemen sebesar 1,64%. Kemudian dilakukan partisi cair-cair dengan pelarut n-heksan dan nilai rendemen sebesar 12,5%. Dilakukan skrining fitokimia dan profil KLT golongan metabolit sekunder pada ekstrak metanol ialah alkaloid, fenol, terpenoid, flavonoid, dan saponin dan ekstrak partisi n-heksan ialah Terpenoid. Kemudian dilakukan uji kualitatif antioksidan dengan metode DPPH ekstrak metanol dan ekstrak partisi n-heksan memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang ditandai dengan 4 noda berwarna kuning dengan nilai RF 0,4; 0,6; 0,8 dan 0,96 pada plat KLT yang disemprotkan DPPH.

Abstract

Kalimantan merupakan pulau terbesar kedua di Indonesia yang dikenal dengan keanekaragaman tumbuhan dan dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan obat tradisional oleh masyarakat setempat. Potensi yang telah di data saat ini belum menunjukkan potensi tumbuhan obat hutan Kalimantan secara keseluruhan. Salah satu tanaman yang berpotensi sebagai tanaman obat dan memiliki bioaktivitas adalah bajakah yang dalam bahasa Dayak berarti akar. Bajakah mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui metode identifikasi senyawa metabolit sekunder dari fraksi etanol akar bajakah dan untuk mengetahui potensi aktivitas dari akar bajakah. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode ekstraksi maserasi, fraksinasi kromatografi cair vakum (KCV), pencarian profil kromatografi lapis tipis (KLT), serta identifikasi senyawa metabolit sekunder. Hasil identifikasi ekstrak metanol akar bajakah mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder antara lain alkaloid, fenol, terpenoid, flavonoid, dan saponin dengan rendemen sebesar 2,87%. Fraksi etanol positif mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder alkaloid, fenol, flavonoid, dan saponin dengan rendemen 43,5%. Untuk profil KLT dengan pemisahan terbaik pada kombinasi eluen Etil asetat:Metanol (1:3) dengan nilai rf 0,72 yang setelah diidentifikasi positif mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder fenol, dan flavanoid serta memiliki potensi aktivitas antioksidan yang ditandai dengan adanya noda berwarna kuning pada plat KLT

Abstract

COVID-19 atau Coronavirus Disease 2019 merupakan penyakit penyebab infeksi Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrom (SARSCoV-2) yang menyerang saluran pernapasan hingga organ lain pada manusia. Proses transmisi yang cukup tinggi antar manusia menyebabkan virus ini bergerak cepat menyebar dan ditetapkan sebagai pandemi. Hingga saat inipun masih belum ada pengobatan spesifik terkait infeksi SARSCoV-2, sehingga tatalaksana pengobatan yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan terapi simptomatik sesuai gejala, terapi suportif untuk pencegahan komplikasi serta pengobatan sesuai komorbid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik pasien serta profil pengobatan pada pasien COVID-19 di Rumah Sakit X Kota Samarinda tahun 2020. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan secara retrospektif berdasarkan catatan rekam medis pasen COVID-19 selama periode Januari hingga Desember tahun 2020. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 95 pasien penderita COVID-19 didominasi oleh laki-laki (52,63%), mayoritas berusia 26 – 45 tahun (40%), tidak memiliki penyakit penyerta (73,68%) dan lama perawatan selama 7 – 14 hari (51,58%). Hasil penelitian pada profil pengobatan pasien COVID-19 diperoleh terapi suportif terbanyak Antivirus Oseltamivir (6,54%), Antibiotik Azithromycin (6,45%), Antikoagulan Fondapurinux Na (1,55%), Vitamin Becomzet® (2,58%) dan terapi simptomatik terbanyak Gangguan Pencernaan Omeprazole (4,99%), Mukolitik Asetilsistein (7,49%), Analgesik dan Antipiretik Paracetamol (4,82%), Kortikosteroid Dexamethasone (1,72%).

Abstract

Empirically, African leaves (Vernonia amygdalina delile) have been widely used by Indonesians as medicinal plants, especially for diseases caused by bacteria. Liquid soap is a soap that has a liquid form that produces more foam than solid soap so it is more attractive. This study aims to make the benefits of African leaves can be easily applied, so it is formulated in the form of liquid soap that meets the standards and also has an antibacterial effect. This research uses laboratory experimental qualitative and quantitative methods. The extract was obtained by maceration of simplisia with 96% ethanol, then variating the extract concentration to 5%, 10%, and 20% in the formula. The base formula is variating concentration of VCO, which are 20%, 25%, and 30%. The results showed that base formula 1 (F1) with 5% extract concentration had optimum characteristics, organoleptic test results of dark green color, liquid form that has a distinctive peppermint fragrance, pH value of 10.80, viscosity of 19 dpa.s, density of 1.086 g/mL, water content of 29.5%, foam stability of 95.56%, and free fatty acid content of 0.33%. Antibacterial test results against Staphylococcus aureus and Escerichia coli showed inhibition diameters of 23.8 mm and 25 mm respectively. Keywords: African leaves, Liquid soap, Antibacterial Abstrak Secara empiris daun afrika (Vernonia amygdalina delile) telah banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat Indonesia sebagai tumbuhan obat, salah satunya penyakit yang disebabkan oleh bakteri. Sabun cair merupakan sabun yang memiliki bentuk cairan menghasilkan busa lebih banyak daripada sabun padat sehingga lebih menarik. Penelitian ini, memiliki tujuan untuk membuat kemanfaatan daun afrika tersebut dapat dengan mudah untuk diaplikasikan, sehingga diformulasikan dalam bentuk sabun cair yang memenuhi standar juga memiliki efek antibakteri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif eksperimental laboratorium. Ekstrak didapatkan dengan maserasi simplisia dengan etanol 96%, lalu dibuat variasi konsentrasi 5%, 10%, dan 20% dalam sediaan. Basis formula dibuat dengan memvariasikan konsentrasi VCO yaitu 20%, 25%, dan 30%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa formula basis 1 (F1) dengan konsentrasi ekstrak 5% memiliki karakteristik optimum, hasil uji organoleptik warna hijau tua, berbentuk cairan yang memiliki wangi khas peppermint, nilai pH 10,80, viskositas 19 dpa.s, bobot jenis 1,086 g/mL, kadar air 29,5%, stabilitas busa 95,56%, dan kadar asam lemak bebas 0,33%. Hasil uji antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dan Escerichia coli menunjukkan diameter daya hambat sebesar 23,8 mm dan 25 mm berturut-turut. Kata Kunci: Daun Afrika, Sabun cair, Antibakteri

Abstract

Caffeine is one of the alkaloids contained in coffee. Caffeine in coffee has clinically useful pharmacological effects, such as stimulating the central nervous system, relieving fatigue and drowsiness. This study aims to determine the validation of the analytical method for determining caffeine content in robusta coffee, where the sample used is coffee from Kalimantan and Sulawesi. The analytical method used to determine caffeine levels in coffee is UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Parameters in method validation are linearity, LOD and LOQ, precision, and accuracy. The validation test performed showed linear results where the value of r2 was 0,9927. The limit value of detection (LOD) obtained is 25,9344 and the value limit quantity (LOQ) obtained is 78,5893. The results of the accuracy test are expressed in %recovery, which is 106,7%. In the final stage a precision test was carried out where the RSD value obtained was 1,5937%. In determining the caffeine content, the caffeine content for Sulawesi coffee was 0,466 mg/g and for Kalimantan coffee was 0,591 mg/g. Kafein pada kopi memiliki efek farmakologis yang bermanfaat secara klinis, seperti merangsang sistem saraf pusat, menghilangkan rasa lelah dan mengantuk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui validasi metode analisis pada penetapan kadar kafein dalam kopi robusta, dimana sampel yang digunakan adalah kopi yang berasal dari Kalimantan dan Sulawesi. Metode analisis yang digunakan untuk menetapkan kadar kafein dalam kopi adalah spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Parameter pada validasi metode yaitu linearitas, LOD dan LOQ, presisi, dan akurasi. Pengujian validasi yang dilakukan menunjukkan hasil yang linier dimana nilai r2 adalah 0,9927. Nilai limit deteksi (LOD) yang diperoleh adalah 25,9344 dan nilai limit kuantitas (LOQ) yang diperoleh adalah 78,5893. Hasil uji akurasi dinyatakan dalam %recovery yaitu 106,7%. Pada tahap akhir dilakukan uji presisi dimana hasil nilai RSD yang diperoleh adalah 1,5937%. Pada penetapan kadar kafein diperoleh kadar kafein untuk kopi Sulawesi sebesar 0,466 mg/g dan untuk kopi Kalimantan sebesar 0,591 mg/g. Kata Kunci: Kafein, Spektrofotometer UV-Vis, Validasi Metode

Abstract

Inflammation is a natural response of body cause by strange substances that can damage the body cells and tissues. Lintut (Strobilanthes kalimantanensis) is an endemic plant from West Kutai which is used as a respiratory-lozenges. Lintut leaves have a distinctive aroma and contain alkaloids, terpenoids and phenols. This research aims to determine its anti-inflammatory activity, the best dose, and effectiveness as an anti-inflammatory. This research uses the croton oil induction method which is applied topically to the ears of mice. Mices are grouped into 5 groups, concentrations of 5%, 10%, 15%, negative control (acetone), and positive control (diclofenac sodium cream 1%). The research results obtained from this research are the results of weighing the ear, macroscopic images and microscopic images. The results of the percent edema obtained showed that only at a concentration of 10% the essential oil of lintut leaves had anti-inflammatory activity, namely with a percent edema value of 26.48%. This concentration was then compared with 1% diclofenac sodium cream. The statistic results show a significant difference, this shows that the 10% concentration has good effectiveness as an anti-inflammatory.

Abstract

Naphthalene derivative compounds named Eleutherol (1) and Eleutherol C (2) have been isolated from Bawang Tiwai Bulb Eleutherine bulbosa. We tested its cytotoxic activity against T47D breast cancer cells in vitro after isolating compounds 1 and 2 from the EtOH extract using conventional chromatography methods. Their chemical structures were elucidated based on spectroscopic analysis, including IR, HR-TOFMS, 1D, and 2D NMR, and by comparison to those related spectra previously reported. Compounds 1 and 2 were tested for their cytotoxic effects against T47D breast cancer cells and showed moderate cytotoxicity against T47D breast cancer cells with IC50 values of 117.15 and 80.21 µM, respectively, compared with cisplatin 24.07 µM.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationship (QSAR) study have been conducted to antimalarial active compounds of cassane-type diterpenes isolated from seed kernels of Bagore (Caesalpinia crista Linn.), using the atomic net charges data resulted from AM1 method of semi-empirical calculations. The aim of this research is to determine the mathematic equation model of quantitative structure-activity relationship from antimalarial active compounds of cassane-type diterpenes isolated from seed kernels of Bagore (Caesalpinia crista Linn.) using the electronic parameter of AM1 method. The best QSAR equation model was determined by multiple linier regression analysis and tested by leave-one-out type of cross validation methods. The result indicates that the biological activity is represented by a linier function of activity versus atomic net charges of C1, C2, C3, C4, and C6 which is expressed by : Log (1/C) = -7,362(+ 4,251) qC1 +3,258 (+ 4,590) qC2 + 11,038 (+4,485) qC3 + 29,421 (+20,542) qC4 + 19,849 (+6,171) qC6 + 8,541 (+2,256) The equation is significant at 95% level. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan model persamaan matematis hubungan kuantitatif struktur-aktivitas dari senyawa aktif antimalaria turunan diterpen kassan furano hasil isolasi dari biji Bagore (Caesalpinia crista Linn.) dengan parameter elektronik menggunakan metode AM1. Pemilihan model persamaan HKSA terbaik ditentukan dengan analisis regresi multilinier dan diuji dengan metode validasi silang leave-one-out. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas biologis merupakan fungsi linier dari muatan bersih atom C1, C2, C3, C4, dan C6 yang dinyatakan dalam persamaan : Log (1/C) = -7,362(+ 4,251) qC1 +3,258 (+ 4,590) qC2 + 11,038 (+4,485) qC3 + 29,421 (+20,542) qC4 + 19,849 (+6,171) qC6 + 8,541 (+2,256) Persamaan signifikan pada tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Hasil analisis validasi silang memberikan data parameter pengujian relatif minimal yaitu PRESS = 9,645; dimana Log (1/IC50) = aktivitas biologis dan q = muatan bersih atom Kata kunci : HKSA, Muatan Bersih Atom, Metode Validasi Silang
