Abstract

ABSTRACT Quality of life as an individual's perception of his life in society in the context of culture and existing value systems related to goals, expectations, standards and also concerns To assess the quality of life of COVID-19 survivors, measurements can be carried out with the ST George Respiratory Questionnare (SGRQ). Factors related to the quality of life of Covid-19 survivors at M Yunus Regional Hospital, Bengkulu and Mukomuko Regional Hospital in 2022. The analysis used to test the 2 associations of 2 categorical variables used a statistical test, namely the Chi Square test. The multivariate test used is logistic regression which is a mathematical model approach used to analyze the relationship of one or more independent variables with dependent categories that are dichotomous/binary with P Value <0.05. The results of this study where the variables used were physical health, gender, age and level of education with the results of each p value physical health = 0.001, sex = 0.007, age = 0.007 and Comorbidities history = 0.000. Which means it has a relationship with the dependent variable, namely quality of life. The dominant factor in the multivariate test is physical health with an effect of 8.264 times on quality of life in survivors of Covid-19.  Suggestions for hospitals need to intensify health promotion and education related to symptoms that may arise after being exposed to Covid-19 infection and the importance of efforts to control Covid-19 virus infection so that they are not infected again in the future, especially in high-risk patients, such as elderly patients, immunocompromised as well as with other co-morbidities. Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between knowledge, perceptions, and subjective norms with adolescents’ attitudes toward gender equality at Darul Huffaz Islamic Boarding School, Pesawaran Regency. A quantitative cross-sectional design was applied with a population of 450 students and a sample of 127 male and female students from grades X–XII. Data were collected through questionnaires measuring knowledge, perception, subjective norms, and attitudes toward gender equality. Spearman’s correlation test was used as the data were not normally distributed. Most students showed positive attitudes toward gender equality, especially female students. However, some male students were less supportive of women’s roles in leadership and careers. Knowledge of gender equality among students remained low due to the absence of direct education from the boarding school. Perceptions were influenced by traditional values, and subjective norms reflected limited environmental support for gender equality. Statistical analysis showed no significant relationship between knowledge and attitudes (p=0.797), while both perception and subjective norms were significantly associated with attitudes (p=0.000). The study concludes that perceptions and subjective norms are significantly related to adolescents’ attitudes toward gender equality, while knowledge is not. Students with positive perceptions and supportive subjective norms are more likely to have favorable attitudes. These findings highlight the importance of education and environmental support in shaping adolescents’ attitudes toward gender issues.

Abstract

Lesbianism refers to women who are physically, emotionally, spiritually, and sexually attracted to other women. Indonesia ranks as the fifth-largest country in the world contributing to the spread of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) populations, following China, India, Europe, and America. Independent survey institutions, both domestic and international, estimate that 3% of Indonesia's total population identifies as LGBT. This equates to approximately 7.5 million individuals, meaning that in a gathering of 100 people, around three may be LGBT. This phenomenon is also observed in confined environments such as women's correctional institutions, where internal factors may influence the tendency toward lesbianism. This study aims to analyze internal factors associated with the tendency toward lesbianism in the Class IIA Way Hui Women's Correctional Institution in Bandar Lampung. This research employs a descriptive-analytical approach with a cross-sectional study design. The population consists of 182 female inmates, selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using univariate (frequency distribution), bivariate (chi-square test), and multivariate (multiple logistic regression) analyses. Results The study found that 36 respondents (19.8%) exhibited a tendency toward lesbianism. Psychological problems were reported by 37 respondents (20.3%), while 145 (79.7%) did not experience such issues. Additionally, 74 respondents (40.7%) had biological factors contributing to their behavior, whereas 108 (59.3%) did not. Educational background also played a role, with 102 respondents (56.0%) having lower education levels and 80 (45.5%) having higher education. Furthermore, 77 respondents (42.3%) had experienced traumatic or negative past events, while 105 (57.7%) had not. Age was also analyzed, with 117 respondents (64.3%) considered at-risk and 65 (35.7%) not at-risk. Statistical analysis revealed significant associations between lesbian tendencies and physical factors (p-value = 0.000), psychological factors (p-value = 0.026), past experiences (p-value = 0.000), and education (p-value = 0.000). However, no significant relationship was found between age and lesbian tendencies (p-value = 0.091). The most dominant influencing factor was physical factors (p-value = 0.003, OR = 4.010). Conclusion Internal factors, particularly physical and psychological aspects, play a dominant role in the tendency toward lesbianism in correctional institutions. Therefore, it is recommended that the Bandar Lampung Women's Correctional Institution enhance educational, counseling, religious, and therapy programs focusing on prevention and psychological well-being.
