Abstract

Brown stem planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens Stal.) is the primary rice pest. This study aims to determine the Pathogen of the Brown Planthopper Insect (Nilaparvata lugens) on Rice Plants (Oryza Sativa) with the literature review method using Google Scholar and Taylor French journals that have ISSN from sinta 1-6. Many farmers have experienced a decrease in the productivity of rice farming caused by pests, one of which is the brown planthopper. The brown planthopper is a pathogen for rice plants that destroys the plants by sucking the liquid from the stems until the rice plants become dry. One of the characteristics of rice plants attacked by brown planthopper pests is that they turn yellowish.

Abstract

Environmental damage can occur due to a person's lack of understanding about the environment, so the role of local wisdom needs to be revived to increase understanding regarding the environment. In understanding Environmental Change material, students need problem solving abilities. This problem-solving ability can be supported through problem-based learning models such as the RANDAI (Reciting, Analyzing, Narrating, Doing, Assesing & Implementing) learning model which is realized in the form of digital books. This type of research is development research using the Plomp model with preliminary research stages, prototyping phase, and assessment phase which are limited to practicality testing. The research subjects were three biology lecturers at Padang State University, two biology teachers and 26 students in class XI MIPA 3 at SMA Negeri 5 Pariaman. The instruments used were initial investigation questionnaires, self-evaluation questionnaires, expert review questionnaires, one to one evaluation questionnaires, small group evaluation questionnaires, field test questionnaires, and practicality questionnaires. Based on research conducted, the average validity value is 90.23% in the very valid category. The average practicality test by teachers and students is 88.21% in the practical category, so it can be concluded that the Digital Book Based on the Integrated RANDAI Learning Model of West Sumatra Local Wisdom on Environmental Change Material developed is very valid and practical.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of an ethnobiology learning model based on design thinking on students' critical thinking skills. The research is a type of quasi-experimental research with a randomized control group pretest-postest design. The population of this study came from SMA Negeri 12 Kerinci. The research sample came from two classes, namely class XI MIPA (experimental class) and class MIPA 3 (control class) totaling 42 students. The experimental class group used the ethnobiology learning model while the control class group used the conventional learning model. The sampling technique is random sampling. The research instrument was an objective test of critical thinking skills. Data analysis was quantitative statistical analysis with the help of SPSS version 26. The results of this study showed that the average value of posttest and N-gain critical thinking skills of classes that obtained ethnobiology learning based on design thinking was better than classes that used conventional learning. The t-test results show that the ethnobiology learning model based on design thinking has an effect on critical thinking skills sig. < 0.05 (0.00 < 0.05). Students' thinking skills in the experimental class obtained an average score of 82.30 with an N-gain value of 0.72

Abstract

The 2013 Curriculum emphasizes the importance of active student engagement in the learning process, requiring the implementation of instructional models that promote participation and independent problem-solving. One such relevant model is Problem Based Learning (PBL). This study is a meta-analysis aimed at examining the validity and practicality levels of PBL-based Student Worksheets (LKPD) as a medium for biology instruction. Data were collected from 10 articles published between 2021 and 2024 in various reputable journals. Data collection was conducted through document review, and analysis was carried out using an average percentage formula. The results show that PBL-based LKPD has a validity level of 93.10% and a practicality level of 92.20%, both of which fall into the very valid and very practical categories. These findings indicate that PBL-based LKPD can serve as an effective and engaging learning medium, supporting students’ competency achievement. The conclusion of this study is that PBL-based LKPD is suitable for use in biology instruction in alignment with the demands of the 2013 Curriculum. The implications of this research include reinforcing the literature on problem-based learning media and offering practical recommendations for educators and instructional material developers. This study also opens opportunities for further research to evaluate the effectiveness of PBL-based LKPD implementation in broader educational contexts and across different subjects.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the limited studies on the validity of e-booklets as a medium for biology learning, despite their potential to enhance students' understanding of complex material. The study aims to analyze the level of validity of e-booklets through a meta-analysis of ten articles published between 2021 and 2025, obtained from several accredited journals. The methodology employed is quantitative, utilizing descriptive analysis techniques across four aspects of validity: content, language, presentation, and graphics. Data were collected through document review and analyzed using the average percentage formula. The results indicate that e-booklets are classified as very valid, with an average validity score of 90.72%. This score comprises language (91.27%), content (91.19%), presentation (90.34%), and graphics (90.06%). These findings suggest that e-booklets meet the eligibility standards for effective and communicative biology learning media. This study concludes that e-booklets are suitable for use in biology education and contribute to the development of digital learning resources. The implications include strengthening the existing literature and providing practical recommendations for educators and media developers. Furthermore, this research paves the way for future studies on the effectiveness and practicality of e-booklets in broader educational contexts.

Abstract

Education is crucial for developing human resources (HR) capable of meeting the challenges of the modern era. As an Islamic educational institution, Madrasah plays a vital role in cultivating human resources with strong character and competitiveness. This study investigates the feasibility of Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-oriented Student Worksheets (LKPD) integrated with Islamic values within Madrasah Aliyah (MA) to enhance student learning outcomes. Employing a meta-analysis methodology, we synthesized data from 10 scholarly articles, utilizing tabulation techniques to assess the validity and practicality of the LKPD. The findings revealed an average validity level of 89.97%, categorizing it as highly valid, and an average practicality score of 88.72%, indicating high practicality. This analysis demonstrates that PBL-oriented LKPD integrated with Islamic values significantly enhances student engagement, creativity, and problem-solving skills while fostering the internalization of Islamic values among students in Phase E at Madrasah Aliyah. Consequently, the implementation of such learning materials not only improves academic understanding but also enriches the educational experience by integrating subject matter, Islamic values, and problem-solving within the learning process, highlighting their broader scholarly relevance and potential real-world impact.

Abstract

The implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Islamic educational institutions is an important step in integrating Islamic values with learning activities. One of the relevant learning models is Problem Based Learning (PBL) integrated with Islamic values into learning media. This research is included in the type of development research (RD) which aims to develop Student Worksheets (LKPD) oriented towards PBL integrated with Islamic values on ecosystem material for Phase E students at Madrasah Aliyah which are valid and practical. This study uses the Four-D (4D) development model. The subjects of the study involved two Biology lecturers from FMIPA UNP, a biology teacher, and 36 Phase E students at MAN 2 Payakumbuh. The data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. The study produced a PBL-oriented LKPD integrated with Islamic values on ecosystem material. The validity test by experts showed an average score of 95.42% which is included in the very valid category. The practicality test by teachers and students obtained an average of 91.97%, also included in the very practical category. Thus, this LKPD is declared very valid and very practical, and is suitable for use as a biology learning medium.
