Abstract

Number of the elderly is increasing relatively fast in Indonesia. It is estimated by the US Bureau of the Cencus that this country will be the fourth in the world regarding the big number of it. As they are becoming older the physiological functions become weaker, it includes the function of intestine which influence the kind of food they can eat. This study has been carried out as to collect information's regarding level and variety of foods consumed by the elderly. A number of 53 elderly reside in two nursing homes, i.e. Budi Luhur and Hanna in Yogyakarta have been involved in the study. Important results show that most of the elderly used to eat main dish meal three times and snacks one-two time daily. The main staple food is rice which contributes 60-70% of total energy intake. Foods of fat sources contribute 15-20% of energy intake. Foods of animal protein sources are consumed 30-50 gram daily, and 50-100 gram of plant protein sources such as fermented soybean (tempe). Drinking water are drunk 6-9 glasses a day. By consuming such level and variety of foods, 47% of elderly are relatively thin, 47% sedentary and 6% relatively obese.Keywords: foods consume, elderly, nursing home

Abstract

Infestation of worms is stiil considered as one of major public health problem in Indonesia especially among young school-age children. When the duration of inferestation takes relatively long time it might provide bad influence to nutritional status, physical and intellectual development and school performance of young children. The aim of the study is mainly stressed on collecting information of the influence of deworming control program to nutritional status and performance of learning acceptance among the Elementary School of grades 3, 4, and 5. Deworming control program consists of distribution of deworming pills twice a year and extention education specially stressed on the problem of infestation of worms. Out of 223 children of two Elementary Schools 166 children were covered in the study. The study showed that: there was a the trend of betterment among the experimental group with regard to prevalence of worm infestation, nutritional status, school attendance and achievment of learning acceptance compared to the control group. Due to relatively bad environment sanitation it is suggested to include program to intervene the environment sanitation in such that reinfection of worm infestation can be limited.Keywords: helminthiasis, learning achievment, nutritional status.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian terhadap 30 anak prasekolah dari 30 keluarga dimana ibu rumah tangga bekerja di luar rumah. Pekerjaan yang dilakukan oleh sebagian besar ibu rumah tangga adalah sebagai pembantu rumah tangga (66,7%) dan sisanya masing-masing 16,7% bekerja sebagai buruh dan pedagang kecil. Rata-rata konsumsi energi dan protein keluarga berturut-turut mencapai tingkat 62,8% dan 82,8% dari kecukupan. Tetapi konsumsi energi anak prasekolah rata-rata telah mencapai tingkat 91,4% dan protein di atas 100% dari kecukupan yang dianjurkan. Sebanyak 86,7% anak prasekolah berstatus gizi baik.

Abstract

FOOD CONSUMPTION BEHAVIOR OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PUPILS PARTICIPATING IN "PMT-AS" PROGRAM AT THE CIHEULEUT AND PASIR GAOK VILLAGE DISTRICT OF BOGOR.Objective: To collect informations regarding actual food consumption behaviour of the pupils, i.e. to develop right message to improve food consumption and nutrition status of the pupils.Results: Most of the pupils have not been applying good and acceptable food consumption behavior, i.e. quantitatively and qualitatively as well; their dietary food consumption patterns relatively monotoneous, vegetables are consumted very limited and also protein sources are less varieties. Snack foods which are usually consumed at school are less varieties and relatively unsafe.Conclusions: There are important messages developed to improve food consumption and nutrition status of the pupils, i.e. eat breakfast before go to school, have complete meal 2-3 times a day and consumed vegetables every day.Key Words: food consumption behavior, school suplementary feeding program (PMT-AS), nutrition education, elementary school pupils

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the performance of administrative services in Mojoroto District, Kediri City based on the 2024 Public Satisfaction Index (IKM) Survey. Based on the survey results, all performance indicators showed very good results, with an aggregate IKM score reaching 93.12. The assessment of service quality includes employee competence, infrastructure, and service innovations such as online systems and mobile services. In addition, the timeliness of administrative processing, service effectiveness, and employee independence and work commitment were also recorded as optimal. The public gave a positive assessment of administrative services, exceeding their expectations according to the Expectancy Disconfirmation Theory (Oliver, 1980). However, there are obstacles such as disruptions to the information system, fluctuations in requests, and lack of document readiness from the public. This study contributes to improving the quality of public services, with recommendations for strengthening the IT system, managing fluctuations in requests, and increasing public awareness of the required documents. These findings are expected to be a model for effective and responsive public administration services for other sub-districts in Kediri City.

Abstract

This paper provides guidance and best practices for writing a well-structured research paper for publication in peer-reviewed journals. It outlines the research publication process, from idea generation to final acceptance, and offers insights into the key factors editors and reviewers consider when evaluating submissions. More importantly, it shares effective practices to address these critical aspects. We stress the importance of strong writing, focusing on concise language, logical flow, and clear organization. The paper also details recommended approaches for essential sections of a research paper, including the cover letter, abstract, introduction, theory and hypotheses, research design, results, and conclusion. Designed to assist academic researchers at all stages, it helps them avoid common pitfalls and enhance the quality of their submissions. While the guidance draws from the authors' experiences, it serves as a practical framework for navigating the challenges of academic writing, ultimately increasing the likelihood of publication in leading journals and contributing meaningfully to their fields.

Abstract

The advancement of information and communication technology has significantly transformed library management, shifting from print-based services to digital-based platforms. This transformation requires librarians to move beyond their traditional role as collection managers to become agents of innovation who connect community information needs with technological developments. This study aims to examine the contribution of librarians’ roles in fostering innovation using Soerjono Soekanto’s (2002) role theory, which encompasses three dimensions: normative, ideal, and actual. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings indicate that librarians carry out normative roles through compliance with regulations, digitization standards, metadata, and copyright; ideal roles as digital transformation agents, local collection developers, information technology experts, and digital literacy educators; and actual roles through digitization practices, metadata input, user assistance, and SOP-based services. The results demonstrate that librarians play a strategic role in advancing digital collection development, both through professional compliance and through creative and adaptive engagement with technology. Consequently, librarians strengthen regional libraries as centers of literacy, cultural preservation, and trusted information in the digital era. The novelty of this research lies in integrating Soerjono Soekanto’s role theory into the context of digital library transformation, thereby offering a new analytical framework that positions librarians not merely as technical executors but as strategic actors in regional information service innovation.
