Abstract

This research analyzes the implementation of Project Based Learning (PjBL) in teaching atmospheric layers to tenth-grade students at SMAN 11 Medan within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum. Through a qualitative approach utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation methods, this study explores the effectiveness of PjBL in enhancing students' understanding of atmospheric concepts. The findings indicate that PjBL implementation through the creation of atmospheric layer miniatures and direct observation-based learning effectively increases student participation and comprehension. Learning is conducted in group systems to optimize resources and encourage student collaboration. Learning evaluation is carried out through daily assessments, both oral and written. The main challenge identified is the varying levels of understanding among students, particularly between advanced and regular classes. This research recommends developing learning differentiation strategies, enhancing teacher competency in PjBL implementation, and integrating digital technology to optimize atmospheric learning within the Merdeka Curriculum framework.

Abstract

Komik sebagai media pembelajaran di berbagai jenjang pendidikan, termasuk SMA, dapat menarik minat siswa dan memudahkan pemahaman materi yang kompleks, seperti penginderaan jauh. Penggunaan komik digital di SMA Negeri 15 Medan, yang belum diterapkan sebelumnya, diharapkan dapat memanfaatkan sarana teknologi digital yang ada untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai kelayakan media komik digital materi penginderaan jauh sebagai bahan ajar untuk kelas X di SMA Negeri 15 Medan dan mengetahui respons siswa terhadap media pembelajaran komik digital. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 15 Medan dari bulan Januari hingga April. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari siswa kelas X-4 dan X-9, masing-masing berjumlah 30 siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pengembangan R&D dengan model 4D, yang mencakup tahap pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (development), dan penyebaran (disseminate). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan komik digital sebagai media ajar materi penginderaan jauh di SMA Negeri 15 Medan berjalan dengan baik. Komik ini divalidasi dan dinyatakan sangat layak dengan skor akhir mencapai 4,67 dari ahli materi, 4,61 dari guru, dan 4,94 dari ahli media. Uji coba pada dua kelas menunjukkan hasil akseptasi sangat tinggi, dengan skor 4,42 dan 4,59, serta meningkatkan motivasi dan pemahaman siswa melalui kombinasi gambar dan teks. Kata kunci: gunakan huruf Garamond, 10pt, lower case; antara 4 - 8 katakunci. Kata kunci harus mereflesikan topik, subtopik, tema, desain penelitian dan konteks penelitian.

Abstract

E-modules is one of electronic learning materials more useful and efficient in 21st learning. The objectives of this study are to develop an e-module, measure its feasibility and analyze its impact on students’ critical thinking in the Learning Media Course. ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) was used in this study. A quasi-experimental research design was carried out to analyze the impact of using e-modules on critical thinking. A total of 40 students in the fourth semester of the Geography Education Department, Social Sciences Faculty, Universitas Negeri Medan were participated in this research. Data collection was used questionnaires and an essay test. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were performed for data analysis. The statistical test carried out was a t-test. The research findings showed that the e-module was feasible to apply in lectures and significantly improved students’ critical thinking.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran dalam bentuk video tutorial menggunakan aplikasi Camtasia Studio 8.5 pada mata kuliah Sistem Informasi Geografi (SIG) di Jurusan Pendidikan Geografi Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Universitas Negeri Medan. Langkah-langkah dalam penelitian pengembangan ini adalah: (1)tahap pendahuluan, (2) tahap perancangan media video tutorial, (3) tahap pembuatan media video tutorial, (4) tahap validasi media, (5) tahap pengujian media video tutorial, dan (6)tahap evaluasi media. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Hasil uji kelayakan dari segi materi pada pengembangan video tutorial menggunakan Camtasia Studio 8.5 pada matakuliah Sistem Informasi Geografi (SIG) dikategorikan sangat layak untuk digunakan dengan catatan perlu dilakukan revisi. Sedangkan hasil uji kelayakan dari segi media dikategorikan cukup layak digunakan dengan beberapa revisi, diantaranya: penambahan teks dan tulisan, musik, detail petunjuk tombol, dan lain sebagainya. Hasil respon mahasiswa mengenai pengembangan video tutorial menggunakan Camtasia Studio 8.5 pada matakuliah Sistem Informasi Geografi (SIG) masuk dalam kategori baik. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan video sudah bagus dan mendapatkan respon positif dari mahasiswa. Kata kunci: pembelajaran, media , Camtasia Studio, SIG ABSTRACT This study aims to produce instructional media in the form of video tutorial using Camtasia Studio 8.5 application in Geography Information System (GIS) course in Geography Education Department Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Medan. The steps in this development research are: (1) preliminary stage, (2) video tutorial design stage, (3) video media tutorial development stage, (4) media validation stage, (5) video media tutorial testing stage, and (6) stage of media evaluation. The results showed that the results of the material feasibility test on the development of video tutorials using Camtasia Studio 8.5 in the Geography Information System (GIS) course are considered very appropriate to be used with the need to revise. While the feasibility test results in terms of media categorized quite feasible to use with some revisions, including: the addition of text and writing, music, detail buttons, and so forth. The result of student's response about video tutorial development using Camtasia Studio 8.5 on Geography Information System (GIS) course in good category. Abstract

Clean water is a basic necessity that not only affects health but also social welfare and environmental sustainability. The aim of this research is to evaluate the level of public awareness in the Tegal Sari Mandala II sub-district regarding the use of clean water for household purposes and to identify the factors that influence public awareness in the utilization of clean water in the Tegal Sari Mandala II village. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive evaluative method. Data in this study were collected through interview techniques, observation, and document studies, and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that community awareness in the Tegal Sari Mandala II sub-district is quite good, but the availability of clean water in this area is still limited due to the scheduling of PAM water distribution, which is from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, making it difficult for residents to meet their clean water needs for household use.

Abstract

The management of educational facilities and infrastructure is a process of organizing all facilities to ensure that the educational process in an educational institution can take place effectively and efficiently. The purpose of this study is to determine the management of facilities and infrastructure used to support the learning process in the Geography subject at SMAN 2 Tanjung Morawa. This research uses a qualitative approach. The population and sample in this study are the Head of Facilities and Infrastructure and the Geography teachers at SMAN 2 Tanjung Morawa. Data in this study were collected through interviews, documentation, and literature review. Subsequently, the data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the management of facilities and infrastructure at SMAN 2 Tanjung Morawa is still suboptimal in terms of planning, procurement, utilization, management, and evaluation systems, resulting in the geography learning process at this high school still relying on lecture methods and manually visualizing geography lessons using a blackboard.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the availability and feasibility of tourism infrastructure in Nagari Sumpur, West Sumatra, in supporting the development of a sustainable ecotourism-based village. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through field observations and in-depth interviews. The findings indicate that Nagari Sumpur has promising infrastructure potential, particularly in basic facilities such as road networks and clean water supply, as well as natural and cultural attractions. However, several challenges persist, including limited supporting facilities (public toilets, tourist information centers, and telecommunication networks), suboptimal waste management systems, and a lack of renewable energy facilities. Strategic recommendations are formulated in three phases: short-term (improvement of basic facilities), medium-term (enhancement of technological infrastructure and environmental management), and long-term (implementation of eco-friendly technology and human resource development). This study contributes to sustainable village tourism development by emphasizing the importance of balancing environmental, economic, socio-cultural, and sustainability management aspects.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran merupakan suatu alat atau perantara yang dapat digunakan untuk memudahkan proses belajar mengajar Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis: (1) Pemanfaatan Media Pembelajaran, (2) Kelayakan Materi dan Media serta Respon siswa Terhadap Media Pembelajaran, dan (3) Peningkatan Minat Siswa pada mata pelajaran geografi di SMA Negeri 4 Medan dengan menggunakan aplikasi CapCut. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian dan pengembangan yang disebut sebagai R&D yang mengacu pada model ADDIE. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X-1 SMA Negeri 4 Medan yang berjumlah 35 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, instrumen validasi ahli materi dan media, instrumen akseptansi (penerimaan) peserta didik, dan Kuesioner. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Be.rdasarkan hasil pe.ne.litian dike.tahui bahwa: (1) pemanfaatan media pembelajaran meggunakan aplikasi CapCut pada materi dinamika hidrosfer menggunakan prosedur model ADDIE. (2) Kelayakan materi pembelajaran memperoleh hasil rata-rata 4,04 dengan kategori layak. Kelayakan media pembelajaran memperoleh nilai rata-rata skor 4,62 dengan kategori sangat layak. Tingkat akseptansi (penerimaan) peserta didik terhadap video pembelajaran yang sudah divalidasi dan dikembangkan menggunakan aplikasi CapCut memperoleh nilai rata-rata skor 4,50 dengan kategori akseptansi sangat tinggi. (3) Respon siswa terhadap minat belajar siswa menggunakan aplikasi CapCut pada uji coba lapangan memperoleh rata-rata skor dengan jumlah 86% dengan kriteria sangat efektif.

Abstract

Kampuang Minang Nagari Sumpur Tourism Village in South Batipuh District, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra, is a cultural and natural tourism destination with the uniqueness of the gadang house that still functions as a residence, preserved Minangkabau traditions, and natural beauty such as Lake Singkarak. However, there is a gap between the expectations and reality of the tourist experience that visitors feel. This shows that even though the potential and attraction of tourism is huge, there are still weaknesses in destination management that can affect visitor perception and satisfaction. In addition, until now there have not been many studies that specifically examine the perception and experience of tourists in Kampuang Minang Nagari Tourism Village in Sumpur, even though visitor perception greatly determines the image, loyalty, and sustainability of tourist destinations. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of observations, questionnaires, and interviews with visitors. The data analysis technique uses a descriptive quantitative approach with the one score one indicator method based on the Likert Scale to identify visitors' perceptions of aspects of accessibility, facilities, tourist attractions, services, environmental conservation, and personal satisfaction and experience during travel. The results of the research are expected to provide a comprehensive overview as the basis for developing an effective and sustainable tourism village management strategy.

Abstract

Crime is a social problem that continues to increase along with population growth and the complexity of urban activities. Pematang Siantar, the second most densely populated city in North Sumatra, faces various social challenges that contribute to a high crime rate. This study aims to map crime-prone areas and analyze the effect of population density on crime rates in 2025. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method with a Geographic Information System (GIS) approach. Primary data consisted of 302 crime cases in 2024 from the Pematang Siantar Police Department, demographic data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, and field observations of crime scene coordinates. Analysis techniques included buffer, kernel density, overlay, and simple linear regression. The results show that crime cases consisted of 191 cases of aggravated theft (63.25%), 103 cases of motor vehicle theft (34.11%), and 8 cases of robbery (2.64%). The highest distribution occurred in West Siantar (77 cases/25.50%), North Siantar (73 cases/24.17%), and Sitalasari (62 cases/20.53%), while the lowest was in Marihat (7 cases/2.32%). Regression analysis indicated that population density (R² = 0.185; sig. 0.174) did not significantly influence crime rates. This research contributes to the development of crime geography and provides a scientific basis for local government and law enforcement in designing spatial-based crime prevention strategies.
