Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of fiscal policy instruments on economic growth in Aceh Province using independent variables such as regional taxes, employee expenditure, and indirect expenditure. The data were obtained from official publications of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Aceh in the form of time series covering the period 2009–2023. The analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the assistance of Eviews 12 software to ensure accurate and reliable results. The findings reveal that, partially, regional taxes have a positive but insignificant effect on economic growth in Aceh Province. Employee expenditure also shows a positive yet insignificant effect, while indirect expenditure has a negative and insignificant impact. Simultaneously, the three independent variables do not demonstrate a significant influence on regional economic growth. These results indicate that the effectiveness of fiscal instruments at the regional level remains limited and has not been able to provide a strong impetus for economic growth. Therefore, a comprehensive evaluation of the planning, allocation, and utilization of fiscal policies is necessary to ensure that Aceh’s economic development strategies become more targeted, efficient, adaptive, and capable of promoting inclusive and sustainable growth.

Abstract

Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a medical condition characterized by a persistent increase in blood pressure exceeding normal thresholds. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between coping mechanisms and psychological stress among elderly individuals with hypertension in Meunasah Papeun Village, Krueng Barona Jaya District. This research employed a quantitative design with a descriptive-analytic approach using the Cross-Sectional Study method. The total population consisted of 77 participants, and the sampling technique utilized total sampling. The study was conducted from June 25 to July 16, 2025. Data collection instruments included the Brief Cope questionnaire and a stress questionnaire developed by the researcher, with a reliability value of Cronbach’s alpha P-Value = 0.693. Data analysis was carried out using the Chi-Square test. The study findings revealed a P-Value = 0.503 (>0.05), indicating no significant relationship between coping mechanisms and stress among elderly individuals with hypertension in Gampong Meunasah Papeun. Respondents are advised to maintain emotional stability to prevent psychological stress; although the findings indicate no direct correlation, it remains essential to preserve mental well-being through effective communication, participation in positive activities, and seeking family support. The village as the research site is encouraged to continue developing stress reduction programs through educational and preventive approaches, such as counseling on coping mechanisms for stress and group discussions.

Abstract

Community participation in the formation of Village Regulations (Perdes) is an important indicator in realizing transparent, democratic, and responsive village governance to the needs of residents. However, in Teluk Kapuas Village, the level of community participation in the process is still relatively low. This is evident from the minimal involvement of residents and village officials in understanding the mechanisms and urgency of Perdes preparation. Based on these conditions, Community Service (PKM) activities were carried out with the aim of increasing the knowledge, understanding, and awareness of the community and village officials regarding the importance of active involvement in Perdes formation. The problems raised in this activity include: (1) the level of knowledge and understanding of village officials regarding the procedures for Perdes formation; and (2) factors that hinder the community from participating optimally. The methods used were lectures and interactive discussions involving village officials and community representatives. The results of the activities showed that the understanding of village officials and the community was still limited, so that participation in Perdes formation was not optimal. Through this PKM activity, it is hoped that there will be an increase in the understanding, awareness, and involvement of the Teluk Kapuas Village community in the Perdes formulation process so that it can produce village regulations that are more participatory and meet the needs of residents.

Abstract

This article would like to discuss the issue of contemporary waqf (Islamic endowment) practices in the Islamic world today for the ummah economic empowerment and development by choosing Turkey and Indonesia as the focus of study. Among the contemporary issues of waqf that is attracting attention to be studied further regarding the Muslim community is the acceptance of its temporary waqf implementation, shifting from previous definition of waqf as almsgiving intended for a perpetual purpose. The selection of both countries is based on the large Muslim population, as well as representing different schools of thought (Indonesia with the Shafi'i school and Turkey with the Hanafi school). By using literature studies and interview with competent parties in the field of waqf purposively as the research method which are then analyzed synthetically, this article concludes that the existence of temporary waqf will develop in the future, as found in Turkey and in Indonesia, one of the reasons is for benefit, as well as the efficiency of the right to use the assets donated.

Abstract

Human resources are the cornerstone of organizational sustainability, including hospitals where nurses serve as the frontline of healthcare services. The increasing demands at RSUD Djoelham Binjai, with a patient load disproportionate to the number of available nurses, present significant challenges to job satisfaction. This study aims to examine the effect of workload and incentives on the job satisfaction of non-civil servant nurses at RSUD Djoelham Binjai. The findings are expected to provide valuable insights for hospital management in enhancing nurses' performance through effective workload management and appropriate incentive schemes. Employing a quantitative research design with a survey approach, primary data were collected through questionnaires and interviews, while secondary data were obtained from relevant literature. A purposive sampling technique was applied, involving 59 non-civil servant nurses as respondents. Data analysis employed validity and reliability tests, multiple linear regression, F-tests, and t-tests, using SPSS 25. The results indicate that workload and incentives simultaneously exert a significant effect on job satisfaction, with an F-value of 27.355 and a significance level of 0.000 (<0.05). Partially, workload demonstrates a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction (t = 2.701; sig = 0.009), as do incentives (t = 2.915; sig = 0.005). These findings confirm that proportional workload distribution and adequate incentives can enhance nurses' job satisfaction. In conclusion, workload and incentives are critical factors in hospital human resource management, directly influencing the quality of healthcare services at RSUD Djoelham Binjai.

Abstract

The clash on September 7, 2023, between Rempang residents and security forces (POLRI, TNI), which ended with the arrest of 43 residents, mirrors the conflict that occurred between the residents of Wadas Village, Bener Subdistrict, Purworejo Regency, Central Java, and the Central Java Regional Government on February 8, 2022. The violence perpetrated by security forces against the residents of Rempang Island occurred when the company, escorted by security, unilaterally staked out Malay customary land in 16 traditional villages on Rempang and Galang Islands in the Riau Archipelago, covering an area of 17,600 hectares. This included 10,028 hectares of protected forest, or about 45.84% of the total land area, which they had occupied since 1834. According to the head of Batam Concessionaires (BP), Muhammad Rudi, the Eco City development plan has been underway since 2004. At that time, PT. Makmur Elok Graha and Xinyi Glass Holding Ltd. (July 2023), the exclusive rights holders, became the private entities partnered with the government (September 12, 2023), receiving an 80-year concession from the government. The government's actions of land seizure and violence demonstrate a form of power arrogance that tends toward abuse of power, under the pretext of protecting a 381 trillion investment, while ignoring the rights of citizens as stipulated in the 1945 Constitution and the Basic Agrarian Law. The government's actions represent forms of Neo-Colonialism and Neo-Capitalism occurring during the Jokowi administration. This situation underscores that the law is no longer equal; the law has collapsed, becoming merely a symbol that only favors power.

Abstract

Anxiety among family member in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a common psychological issue. This situation arises from the uncertainty about the patient’s condition. Effective therapeutic communication by nurses is one of the key strategies to help reduce anxiety. This study was conducted from June 4 to July 20, 2025. This study aims to analyze the relationship between nurses’ therapeutic communication and the anxiety levels of family members in the ICU of RSUD Meuraxa, Banda Aceh. This research employed a quantitative, correlational design. The population consisted of 66 family members of ICU patients, with a sample of 57 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. The results showed that most families received therapeutic communication at a moderate level (50.9%) and a good level (49.1%). The anxiety levels experienced by the families were mostly moderate (54.4%) and mild (45.6%). The analysis revealed a p-value of 0.003, indicating a statistically significant relationship between nurses’ therapeutic communication and the anxiety levels of family member. These findings prove that therapeutic communication given by nurses plays a vital role in influencing the anxiety levels of patients’ families in the ICU. Therefore, the hospital management is encouraged to improve nurses’ therapeutic communication skills and establish supportive communication policies to enhance services and reduce anxiety among the family members in the ICU.
