Abstract

Alat uji tekan merupakan instrumen uji mekanik yang digunakan untuk menentukan batas maksimum suatu material menerima tekanan yang diberikan. Tekanan yang diberikan pada suatu material dapat mengakibatkan terjadinya deformasi pada material tersebut. Sensor load cell merupakan suatu piranti yang mengkonversi deformasi yang terjadi menjadi perubahan nilai hambatan listrik. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pembuatan alat uji tekan portabel yang memanfaatkan sensor load cell. Alat uji tekan ini menggunakan sensor load cell, modul mikrokontroler ATmega328, motor driver, dongkrak listrik, modul ADC HX7411, dan modul LCD. Pengujian sensor load cell dilakukan dengan memberikan gaya tekan pada sensor load cell pada 3 klasifikasi skala yaitu 10 N-100 N dengan kelipatan 10 N, 100 N-1000 N dengan kelipatan 100 N, dan skala 1000 N-5000 N dengan kelipatan 1000 N. Hasil pengujian unjuk kerja sensor menunjukkan tingkat akurasi sebesar 98,7%. Sementara itu, pengujian pengukuran uji tekan suatu sampel material menunjukkan deviasi nilai 1% terhadap hasil pengukuran menggunakan alat standar UTM-TENSILON.Kata Kunci :  load cel; tekanan; akurasi; ATmega328; HX7411.

Abstract

Green technology for eco-friendly dyes in textile industries has been required in recent decades. An innovation was established by producing textile dyes from natural sources. This research aims to identify fine particle powder's characteristics and analyze the color changes applied to the textile. The mechanical thermal was utilized to produce natural dyes. Three main stages were conducted to obtain dye powder: mordant, coloring, and fixation. The dye powder was examined for water content, phytochemical tests, FTIR, SEM-EDX, and color using the Android-based Color Analyzer and Color Grab applications. The results show that the water content of 7.21% meets the SNI 01-3709-1995 standard. So, the powder can be stored for a long time because it does not quickly spoil. In addition, the phytochemical test resulted in alkaloids, flavonoids, and tannins. This revealed that teak leaf powder can be a suitable textile dye. After that, SEM-EDX examination illustrated that the powder had a round, flat, elongated morphology, a sharp edge texture, and an irregular position. Meanwhile, the EDX signified that the recognized chemical elements did not damage the environment, and the powder diameter ranges from 0.5-8.5 μm. The powder size complied with the fine particle powder category. To analyze the color from the dye powder application, there were color changes during each dyeing process. During all stages, from making the powder to applying the powder to the fabric, environmentally friendly technology was utilized. Therefore, this research can promote new opportunities for innovation and development of highly competitive products towards a more environmentally friendly and sustainable textile industry.

Abstract

Frequency is fundamental in data communication for transmitter and receiver stations. The most common problem found in the data communication is the signal quality measurement. A LoRa module, as one of the wireless devices with UHF (Ultra High Radio) frequencies, has extended range frequencies and signal strength parameters (RSSI, Received Signal Strength Indicator). RSSI parameter on signal bandwidth and the distance between stations. However, there is no supporting research in terms of the RSSI quality and short-distance variations. In line with this, this study aims to design a frequency control system of a LoRa module and to investigate the effect of short-distance and frequency differences on RSSI. The system consists of a transmitter, a LoRa SX1278 module, and push buttons as frequency control buttons. The system's performance was tested by receiving data over various distances from 0 to 1.25 m. The results show that the system works efficiently in controlling the frequency (ranging from 433 – 525 MHz) with good flexibility and accuracy. The system maintained an RSSI level > -120 dBm using a constant power supply and varied distances. The highest RSSI level is found at the shortest distance (0.2 m) with a higher frequency (525 MHz). There is a significant correlation between distance, frequency variations, and RSSI levels (R2 > 0.75). It can be concluded that the LoRa SX1278 module can be used as a short-distance-based data communication with moderate quality (average RSSI levels are about 80 - 120 dBm). Higher frequencies provide better RSSI levels due to increased transmission energy.

Abstract

In Surau Gading village, the majority of the population is employed as oil palm farmers. Every two weeks, farmers harvest oil palm fruit. After harvesting the oil palm fruit, the farmers sell it to Peron Resdianto, who is a young entrepreneur in the village of Surau Gading. Almost every day, the platform owner purchases agricultural products made from palm oil. Because a large number of customers sell their agricultural products, palm oil platform owners have to make sales to the factory once every two days. Once the palm oil mill receives the sales proceeds, the platform owner disburses payments to the palm oil farmers who sell their agricultural products. As information technology advances, it has now spread to almost all fields and is developing at a rapid pace. Information technology's application is evolving, as evidenced by the constant advancements in the field. The author wants to design a web-based information system for selling and buying palm oil on the Resdianto platform using the PHP and My SQL programming languages. We designed this system using system modeling tools, personal home page (PHP), MYSQL, HTML, data flow diagrams (DFD), Xampp, flowcharts, and entity relationship diagrams (ERD). Peron Reskianto can improve performance by creating a web-based information system for buying and selling palm oil, which will assist platform owners in collecting data on palm oil purchases and sales. This information system guarantees security and reduces errors.

Abstract

Partikulat yang dikeluarkan oleh asap rokok diketahui berkontribusi terhadap polusi udara dan berdampak negatif terhadap kesehatan manusia. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya untuk mengurangi konsentrasi asap rokok di udara. Dalam penelitian ini, kami mengembangkan filter partikulat yang terbuat dari serbuk kayu dengan tepung terigu sebagai perekat filternya. Variasi filter yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah filter yang dijemur langsung di bawah sinar matahari dan menggunakan pengering rambut. Filter ini ditandai dengan nilai efisiensinya dalam mengurangi emisi asap rokok. Efisiensi filter dalam mereduksi partikel ditentukan dengan membandingkan asap rokok sebelum dan sesudah penambahan filter. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai efisiensi filter dalam mereduksi partikel asap rokok adalah sekitar 95,24%. Nilai efisiensi yang dihasilkan dari variasi perlakuan filter yang berbeda tidak menunjukkan perbedaan nilai yang signifikan.

Abstract

Sampah secara umum dihasilkan dari kegiatan manusia sehari-hari. Dari berbagai jenis sampah, sampah plastik merupakan sampah non-organik yang paling banyak dihasilkan, tidak dapat diurai secara alamiah, dan memiliki dampak bagi kesehatan maupun lingkungan. Kabupaten Lombok Timur, memproduksi sampah terbanyak setiap harinya di Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat. Usaha mengurangi sampah perlu didukung oleh kesadaran masyarakat untuk mengurangi sampah dan memilah sampah sehingga dapat mengurangi beban pengelolaan sampah yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah daerah, terlebih setelah pemerintah propinsi NTB menggaungkan program Net Zerowaste Emission Tahun 2050. SMA N 2 Selong merupakan salah satu sekolah di wilayah Selong Lombok Timur yang diharapkan mampu menjadi pionir dalam edukasi pengembangan kesadaran diri sehingga memiliki peran yang sangat stategis untuk mengedukasi masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, untuk mengatasi permasalahan sampah perlu dilakukan edukasi pemilahan sampah plastik di lingkungan sekolah. Bahkan perlu diperkenalkan manfaat mendaur ulang sampah karena hal ini akan menunjukkan animo generasi muda dalam mewujudkan program zero waste di lingkungan SMA N 2 Selong, dan nantinya diharapkan pada generasi muda di seluruh wilayah Lombok Timur. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh siswa kelas X, XI dan XII sejumlah 54 siswa terpilih dan hampie seluruh guru SMA N 2 Selong dengan respon Sangat Memuaskan.

Abstract

The increase in energy needs must be balanced by environmentally friendly technological innovations. Chitosan polymer is one of the technological innovations of energy materials that are being developed by many developed countries. This research aimed to identify the potential of oyster pearl shell waste as a source of electrolyte polymers. The study was conducted experimentally by synthesizing chitosan nanoparticles from chitosan using the ionic gelation method. Chitosan is obtained through the isolation method from Pinctada maxima oyster pearl shell waste. The isolation method is carried out by three processes: deproteination, demineralization, and deacetylation. Several characterizations were carried out to analyze the material from the synthesis, including a proximate test, FTIR analysis, and PSA analysis. Isolated chitosan was identified to have a deacetylation degree that reached 88.63% with the formation of OH and NH2 functional groups. In general, the proximate tets data has shown that the obtained chitosan already meets the Indonesian standard SNI 7949:2013. PSA analysis resulted in differences in size distribution, PDI, and zeta potential between chitosan and chitosan nanoparticles. The results were obtained by the average distribution of chitosan particle size of 52.043 μm and chitosan nanoparticle size of 2.3365 μm—the analysis of the potential zeta of chitosan -3.9 mV and chitosan nanoparticle -21,6 mV. Thus, changes in the size of the chitosan material affect its potential PDI and zeta values. The change of these two values is a good indicator of the initial data and the potential of the material as an energy material. Therefore, chitosan polymer is an electrolyte material that can be used as a candidate for environmentally friendly renewable energy materials

Abstract

Indonesia, sebagai negara kepulauan terbesar di dunia, rentan terhadap berbagai bencana alam seperti gempa bumi, tsunami, letusan gunung berapi, dan banjir. Gempa sering terjadi di wilayah Lombok karena bersumber dari subduksi lempeng, Sesar Naik Flores, dan sesar lokal di Pulau Lombok dan sekitarnya. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan sosialisasi yang membuat masyarakat menjadi lebih paham resiko jika terjadi bencana alam dan mengurangi kekhawatiran berlebihan akibat kurangnya pemahaman masalah bencana. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan kesiapsiagaan bencana melalui pengembangan dan implementasi alat deteksi gempa bagi guru dan siswa di SMPN 5 Sekotong Kabupaten Lombok Barat. Metode pemberian pelatihan kepada guru dan siswa melalui sosialisasi alat deteksi gempa. Peserta yang terlibat sebanyak 50 orang. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta terkait risiko bencana gempa bumi dan langkah-langkah mitigasi yang harus dilakukan. Sebelum kegiatan dilaksanakan, banyak peserta yang memiliki keterbatasan informasi mengenai penyebab gempa bumi, tanda-tanda awal, dan tindakan yang tepat untuk dilakukan saat terjadi gempa. Melalui sosialisasi dan pelatihan penggunaan alat deteksi gempa, peserta tidak hanya memperoleh pengetahuan teoretis tetapi juga keterampilan praktis dalam mengenali peringatan dini yang diberikan oleh alat tersebut. Proses pelatihan dilakukan secara interaktif dengan metode demonstrasi dan praktik langsung, sehingga peserta, baik guru maupun siswa, dapat memahami fungsi dan manfaat dari alat deteksi tersebut dengan lebih baik. Peningkatan kesiapsiagaan terlihat dari respons peserta yang lebih tenang dan terstruktur dalam menghadapi simulasi gempa yang dilakukan di akhir kegiatan. Guru dan siswa mulai mampu mengidentifikasi langkah-langkah evakuasi yang aman, lokasi titik kumpul, serta pentingnya menjaga ketenangan dalam situasi darurat. Selain itu, keberadaan alat deteksi gempa ini memberikan rasa aman tambahan bagi pihak sekolah, karena dapat memberikan peringatan dini sebelum gempa terjadi.

Abstract

The rising incidence of bone injuries necessitates researching and developing safe bone replacement materials. Chitosan biopolymer is one of the available materials. Because it is non-toxic, biocompatible, and biodegradable, chitosan can be employed as a bone scaffold material. According to the European Pharmacopeia 6.0 (Eur: Ph 6.0), chitosan, with a deacetylation level of more than 70%, is safe for medicinal usage. The purpose of this research was to analyze the  characteristics of chitosan isolated from nacre and the influence of nacre powder mass  on the degree of deacetylation of  chitosan. Chitosan was extracted by the processes of deproteination, demineralization, and deacetylation. Organoleptic tests, yield calculations for each stage, examination of the degree of deacetylation, creation of functional groups, and vibrational modes based on Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) data were performed on the isolated chitosan. The produced chitosan exhibited the properties of being beige color, odorless, and in powder form. The yield of insulation results obtained by the mass of chitosan. 3.7 % of the mass of nacre powder. The resultant chitosan has the formation of hydroxyl (OH) and amine (NH2) groups and vibrational stretching and bending modes. The variation in nacre powder mass throughout the isolation procedure altered the degree of deacetylation of the resultant chitosan and the wave number spectra of the hydroxyl (OH) and amine (NH2) groups. Chitosan, with a mass of 80 grams of nacre powder and a value of 76.94%, exhibited the highest degree of deacetylation. Considering that the functional groups generated in chitosan are comparable to those in bone, chitosan is a potential material for bone scaffolds.

Abstract

AbstrakUdara yang berkualitas adalah udara yang bersih dan terbebas dari polusi. Beberapa contoh dari emisi udara yakni coarse dan fine particle yang tergolong dalam sub kelas PM. Belum seluruh sektor mengetahui jenis emisi udara ini dan kaitannya dengan kualitas udara. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan sebuah sosialisasi yang disertai dengan penerapan teknologi tepat guna. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini dilaksanakan sebagai salah satu bagian dari Tri Dharma yang berbasis hasil penelitian tim peneliti kualitas udara dan mitigasi kebencanaan bersama SMAN 2 Selong, Kabupaten Lombok Timur sebagai mitra. PkM dilakukan dalam bentuk demonstrasi penggunaan alat pengukur konsentrasi emisi udara jenis PM hasil kolaborasi penelitian dosen dan mahasiswa di Program Studi Fisika, FMIPA, Universitas Mataram dengan tujuan mengenalkan kepada siswa terkait pentingnya menjaga kualitas udara. Peserta kegiatan adalah siswa sebanyak 20 orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam PkM adalah penyuluhan sederhana yang terintegrasikan dalam demonstrasi alat/kit. Kegiatan ini memberikan banyak manfaat bagi siswa dalam memahami dan mempraktekkan teori secara langsung. Melalui demonstrasi atau aplikasi alat peraga ini, siswa dapat melihat secara langsung pengukuran fisis dengan teknologi dan alat bantu teknologi, yang disertai dengan penyuluhan atau pemberian informasi terkait kualitas udara dan bentuk mitigasinya. Keterbatasan piranti-piranti pengukuran kualitas udara dapat disiasati dengan pengaplikasian alat ukur kualitas udara sebagai alat peraga secara langsung. Kegiatan ini memberikan manfaat bagi siswa dalam meningkatkan pemahaman secara langsung terkait kualitas udara dan mitigasi kebencanaan udara. Kata kunci: demonstrasi; kualitas udara; mitigasi kebencanaan; particulate matter. AbstractGood air is air that is clean and free from pollution. Some examples of air emissions are coarse and fine particles classified in the PM subclass. Not all sectors yet know about this type of emissions and their relationship to air quality. Therefore, socialization is needed, accompanied by the application of appropriate technology. This community service (PkM) was conducted as part of Tri Dharma, which is based on the research results of the air quality and disaster mitigation research team with SMAN 2 Selong, East Lombok Regency as a partner. PkM was carried out in the form of a demonstration of the use of a PM-type air emission concentration measurement system resulting from collaborative research between lecturers and students at the Physics Study Program, FMIPA, University of Mataram, to introduce students to the importance of maintaining air quality. The participants were 20 students. The method used in PkM was simple counseling integrated into tool/kit demonstrations. This activity provides many benefits for students in terms of directly understanding and practicing theory. Through demonstrations or applications of these teaching aids, students can directly see physical measurements using technology and technological aids, accompanied by counseling or providing information related to air quality and forms of mitigation. The limitations of air quality measurement devices can be overcome by using air quality measuring instruments as a direct demonstration tool. This activity provides benefits for students in increasing direct understanding regarding air quality and air disaster mitigation. Keywords: demonstration; air quality; disaster mitigation; particulate matter.
