Abstract

The objective of the experiment was to observe the effect of application of paclobutrazol as growth retardant and hidogen sianamida which can act as dormancy break on growth and flowering of Mango cv. Arumanis. Experiment was conducted at IPB Experiment Station, Tajur, Bogor (250 m above sea level), from April to August 1996. Three-year-old of Mango cv. Arumanis trees were used for this experiment. Trees were planted in the field with spacing of 5 m x 5 m. Experiment using Randomized Block Design, consisted of two factors. First factor was dosage of paclobutrazol i.e. 0 ppm as control and 1000 ppm. Second factor was application time of hidrogen sianamida i.e. no treatment (control), 15 days after paclubutrazol application( HSP), 30 HSP and 60 HSP. Each treatment was replicated six times using one tree for each replication. Observation was conducted once a week on the sprouting bud number, shoot length flowering time, cluster number, and cluster size. Paclubutrazol application significantly played a role in off seson flower induction of mango Arumanis, flower bud sprouting occurred on 61-71 days after paclubutrazol treatment. Percentage of flowering on treated trees was 83.3-100%, while no flowering was observed on the kontrol trees. More-over, paclobutrazol application significantly inhibited vegetatif growth through decreasing total bud sprouted and shortening shoot length. Time of hidrogen sianamida application tended to increase total of bud sprouted To generatif growth, time of hidrogen sianamida application tended to increase cluster number and significantly increase cluster length. Application time of hydrogen sianamida 60 HSP showed vegetatif and generatif growth better as compared with other treatments.

Abstract

The experiment was aimed to study the effect of hydrogen cynamide on tea growth and production after pruning. The experiment was conducted at Goalpara Tea Plantation (1100 m above sea levels) from September 1994 to March 1995. Clone TR12025 planted in 1976 with 29 months pruning cycle was pruned a week before application of hydrogen cynamide. Randomized Complete Block Design was used in this experiment with four treatments and four replications. Treatments consist of hydrogen cynamide 0.00 % (control), 0.50 %, 1.25 % and 2.50 %. An experiment unit consists of 20 tea plants. The results showed that treatments of hydrogen cynamide was not significantly increase the number of shoots and weight of "tipping" (shoot tipped on first plucking). The production was not significantly increased by the treatments. However, hydrogen cynamide at 0.50 % could increase 11.5 % fresh weight (equivalent 0f 9.9 % dry weight).

Abstract

Productivity of Physic Nut (Jatropha curcas L.) depends on environment and culture intensity. We evaluated yield potential of Jatropha curcas L. at dry land (sandy entisol soil type) of West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara using three types of propagules, i.e., stem cutting, seed, and seed after pruning and were designed with Randomized Block Design in three replications during November 2006 until November 2007. Result showed that productivity of nut is 880.78 kg/ha (352.31 g/plant) from stem cutting, 749.81 kg/ha (299.92 g/plant) from seed, and 484.11 kg/ha (193.64 g/plant) from seed followed by pruning after 2 weeks planting.

Abstract

The village is the most real place where all economic and social activities of the community occur. From the village, all kinds of problems can be found along with the potential that can be developed. The existing potential needs to be developed so that the benefits can be felt by the surrounding community. Community service through the BIMA program in Cihideung Udik Village is carried out as an effort to encourage this potential. The service is carried out for 8 months from July to December 2024 with the aim of encouraging village progress by developing a rural business ecosystem through crystal guava commodities under the title of tourist villages. The scheme for developing a commodity-based business ecosystem is carried out in several stages starting from socialization, FGD, training, and intensive mentoring. Training and mentoring are key in completing the needs to form a village business ecosystem. The success indicators of the training and mentoring scheme are reflected in several aspects such as institutions, plant conditions, and community socialization. The institutional aspect gives good results with collaboration between institutions so that a tourist plan is born in Cihideung Udik Village. Meanwhile, the condition of the plants is considered good with a growth percentage reaching 100% and an average plant height reaching 60.84 cm. This shows that the training and mentoring scheme implemented is very effective so that it has a direct good impact on farmers. The development of this crystal guava commodity will help the economic growth of the local community and increase the tourist attractions in Cihideung Udik Village.

Abstract

Grape production in Indonesia is limited due to environmental conditions and other factors. However, grape consumption in Indonesia has become popular over the last decade. Nutrient and water delivery are scheduled based on the growth stages of the grape, which consist of vegetative and generative stages. Those dynamic schedules should be assisted using automatic monitoring and controlled using the message queuing telemetry transport (MQTT) and Internet of Things protocol. However, the performance of monitoring and control should be evaluated. This study aimed to evaluate the performance of Tropical Grape Greenhouse Monitoring and Nutrient Delivery Scheduling using the MQTT protocol and IoT technique. The research stages include system analysis, design, implementation, and testing. The outcomes of this study consist of a monitoring system and a control system. The monitoring system is equipped with a main control unit (MCU) based on an ESP32, along with sensors for air temperature and humidity (DHT21), light intensity (lux sensor), water temperature (DS18B20), and soil moisture. Data is transmitted via an Aedes-based MQTT broker installed on the Node-RED platform on a virtual private server (VPS) integrated with a MySQL database. The monitoring and control system is implemented in the grape greenhouse at the Agribusiness and Technology Park (ATP) at IPB University. Specifically, the control system is designed and implemented in the grape greenhouse to activate solid-state relays (SSRs) and contactors to operate water pumps and solenoid valves, all managed through a dashboard interface. System performance testing was conducted to evaluate reliability and latency at MQTT quality-of-service (QoS) levels using the one-way delay (OWD) method. The results indicate that the monitoring node’s latency at QoS 0 is relatively stable, averaging 59.51 milliseconds. For the control system, the average latency test was 63.07 milliseconds for QoS 0, 72.21 milliseconds for QoS 1, and 85.64 milliseconds for QoS 2.
