Abstract

ABSTRACT Kristal guava is one of the popular guava cultivars nowadays. The guava has white flesh and not-perfectly-round shaped that resembles a crystal and seedless. However, during the growth period fruit undergoes several physical and chemical changes and susceptible to insect infestation and other damage, all of which can reduce their commercial value and thus cause significant yield and economic losses. The aim of this research was to evaluate the influence of different color and bagging materials on guava fruit development and quality. The research was conducted at farmer farm located in Cikarawang Dramaga, from November 2013 to April 2014. This research was arranged in a randomized block design with one factor, consisted of ten treatments and five replications. The treatments were red plastic, yellow plastic, green plastic, blue plastic, sponnet with red plastic, sponnet with yellow plastic, sponnet with green plastic, sponnet with blue plastic, sponnet with transparent plastic and unbagged. Fruit quality assesment was conducted in Postharvest Laboratory of Agronomy and Horticulture Department, Bogor Agricultural University and Center for Tropical Horticultural Studies. The result showed that bagging improved fruit size, external quality and accelerated fruit maturity. Sponnet with red plastic bagging resulted in the biggest fruit at harvest. Sponnet with yellow or with red plastic baggings were able to maintain fruit peel smoothness up to 85%. Sponnet and plastic bagging resulted in better external quality than bagging with plastic only. Bagging did not show any effect on internal fruit quality. Keywords: colored bag, guava cv. Kristal, soluble solids content, sponnet, titratable acidityABSTRAK Jambu ‘Kristal’ merupakan salah satu kultivar jambu biji yang sedang populer saat ini. Jambu Kristal memiliki daging buah berwarna putih, berbentuk bulat tidak beraturan serta berbiji sedikit. Selama pertumbuhan dan perkembangan buah mengalami berbagai perubahan fisik dan kimia dan rentan terhadap serangan hama, yang secara keseluruhan dapat mengurangi nilai komersial sehingga menyebabkan kehilangan yang signifikan dari segi hasil panen dan kerugian ekonomi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan pengaruh warna dan bahan pemberongsong terhadap perbaikan kualitas buah jambu ‘Kristal’. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada November 2013 sampai April 2014, di kebun petani yang berlokasi di Cikarawang, Dramaga, Bogor. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan satu faktor yaitu pemberongsongan buah, dengan sepuluh taraf dan lima ulangan. Perlakuan pemberonsongan menggunakan plastik merah, plastik kuning, plastik hijau, plastik biru, sponnet dan plastik merah, sponnet dan plastik kuning, sponnet dan plastik hijau, sponnet dan plastik biru, sponnet dan plastik bening serta tanpa pemberongsong. Pengujian kualitas buah dilakukan di Laboratorium Pascapanen Departemen Agronomi dan Hortikultura, Fakultas Pertanian, Institut Pertanian Bogor dan Laboratorium Pusat Kajian Hortikultura Tropika (PKHT) IPB. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberongsongan memperbaiki pertumbuhan, kualitas eksternal dan mempercepat pematangan buah. Pemberongsongan sponnet dan plastik merah menghasilkan buah dengan ukuran terbesar pada saat panen. Pemberongsongan menggunakan sponnet dengan plastik kuning atau merah mampu menjaga kemulusan buah hingga 85%. Pemberongsongan sponnet dan plastik menghasilkan kualitas eksternal yang cenderung lebih baik dibandingkan pemberongsongan hanya dengan plastik. Abstract

Abiu (Pouteria caimito) is an exotic tropical plant that has many benefits for health. Abiu is an interesting plant because of its various bioactive compounds, therefore it is necessary to conduct research on various bioactive compounds that are contained in each part of abiu plant. The purpose of this study was to identify and evaluate the bioactive compounds of the extract of different parts of abiu and their benefits. The study used 5 (five) parts of abiu plant, i.e. shoot leaves, mature leaves, unripe fruit, ripe fruit pulp, and ripe fruit peel. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design (RCD) with five replicates. The contents of bioactive compounds were determined using gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GCMS). The results showed that all parts of the abiu plant contained bioactive compounds that have benefits for health, especially as anti-cancer. These compounds are 1-(2-Hydroxyethyl)-1,2,4-triazole, 5-hydroxy methyl furfural, 1-methyl-5-fluorouracil and trans-geranylgeraniol. Compound of 1-(2-hydroxyethyl) -1,2,4-triazole was found on contained in shoot leaves and mature leaves of abiu. Compound of 5-hydroxy methyl furfural was contained in unripe fruit, ripe fruit pulp and ripe fruit peel of abiu. Compound of 1-methyl-5-fluorouracil was found on ripe fruit pulp of abiu. Compound of trans-geranylgeraniol was found on ripe fruit pulp and ripe fruit peel of abiu. Keywords: Anti-cancer, antioxidant, extracts, GCMS, health.

Abstract

Pepaya merupakan tanaman yang dapat berproduksi sepanjang tahun di Indonesia. Pepaya memiliki banyak varietas sehingga memiliki rasa, bentuk dan ukuran buah yang beragam. Keragaman penampilan pepaya unggul di lapangan perlu dievaluasi sebagai upaya mempertahankan. karakter kualitasnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkarakterisasi dan mengklasifikasi keragaman kualitas fisik dan kimia buah pepaya Callina. Metode pengambilan sampel menggunakan Metode Purposive Random Sampling dengan sampel sebanyak 50 pohon. Setiap pohon sampel diambil empat buah sehingga terdapat total 200 buah pepaya. Setiap pohon sampel diberi kode bentuk buah berdasarkan Descriptor for Papaya. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Pepaya Desa Babakan Lebak, Kelurahan Balumbang Jaya, Kecamatan Bogor Barat, Kota Bogor dan Laboratorium Pasca Panen Fakultas Pertanian IPB dari bulan April hingga bulan Juli 2022. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan terdapat keragaman bentuk dan rongga buah Pepaya Callina yaitu elongate, lengthened-cylindrical, oval, dan globular. Pepaya Callina memiliki bentuk buah di ujung tangkai tipe depressed dan digolongkan sebagai buah pepaya berukuran kecil hingga sedang. Rongga buah pepaya yang berbentuk bintang memiliki bobot dan jumlah biji yang lebih tinggi. Buah berbentuk elongate dan lengthened-cylindrical memiliki bentuk sesuai dengan deskripsi pepaya Callina. Buah berbentuk globular memiliki nilai PTT lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan tiga tipe buah lainnya. Bobot buah berkolasi positif dengan panjang, diameter, tebal daging buah, volume buah, dan bobot biji.Kata kunci: buah tropis, karakterisasi, klasifikasi, mutu buah

Abstract

Pamelo (Citrus maxima (Burm.) Merr.) merupakan buah yang banyak dibudidayakan di kawasan Asia, termasuk Indonesia. Perbanyakan pamelo lebih efektif dilakukan secara vegetatif karena memiliki keunggulan pada sifat anakan yang serupa dengan induknya. Cangkok merupakan salah satu cara perbanyakan vegetatif yang banyak digunakan karena memiliki keberhasilan berakar yang tinggi pada tanaman berkayu. Penelitian bertujuan mengevaluasi efek media dan lebar keratan terhadap keberhasilan cangkok pamelo. Penelitian dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan Cikabayan, Institut Pertanian Bogor, pada bulan April hingga November 2021. Percobaan dilakukan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktor tunggal terdiri atas sembilan perlakuan kombinasi. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah jenis media (pupuk kandang dan tanah (1:1), arang sekam dam serbuk sabut kelapa (1:1), dan sphagnum moss dan tanah (1:1)), masing-masing dikombinasikan dengan lebar keratan (3 cm, 6 cm, dan 9 cm), menghasilkan 9 kombinasi perlakuan. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan kombinasi perlakuan media dan lebar keratan berpengaruh nyata terhadap keberhasilan cangkok. Kombinasi perlakuan media arang sekam dan cocopeat (1) dan lebar keratan 3 cm merupakan kombinasi perlakuan dengan persentase keberhasilan cangkok paling tinggi dan memiliki rata-rata jumlah akar paling banyak dibandingkan kombinasi perlakuan lainnya. Abstract

Pisang merupakan komoditas yang banyak ditemukan di pasar, dan cukup potensial untuk dibudidayakan. Pisang mudah diolah untuk dijadikan bahan pangan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji akumulasi satuan panas yang tepat sebagai kriteria panen terukur pisang Tanduk serta pengaruhnya terhadap mutu fisik dan kimia pada tingkat kematangan pascapanen yang sama. Percobaan dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Sukamantri, Bogor, Jawa Barat pada ketinggian 550 meter di atas permukaan laut pada bulan Desember 2021 hingga April 2022. Pengujian kualitas fisik dan kualitas kimia pisang Tanduk dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Pascapanen, Departemen Agronomi dan Hortikultura, Fakultas Pertanian, Institut Pertanian Bogor. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan tiga ulangan untuk menguji tujuh umur panen: 70,75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100 hari setelah antesis (HAS). Satuan panas tersebut setara dengan satuan panas: 1035, 1111, 1188, 1262, 1332, 1398, 1444 ˚C hari. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa pisang Tanduk yang dipanen pada umur panen 70-100 HSA di Kebun Percobaan Sukamantri dengan satuan panas 1035.15-1443.90 ˚C hari tidak mempengaruhi komponen produksi, komponen fisik, laju respirasi, dan kualitas kimia pada kematangan pascapanen yang sama kecuali PTT dan rasio PTT/ATT. Abstract

Pada artikel ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui teknik evaluasi dalam dunia pendidikan. Penulisan ini merupakan jenis penulisan deskriptif analitik(descriptive research). Penulisan ini juga termasuk penulisan eksploratif sebagaiupaya untuk menemukan secara faktual, akurat dan sistematis terhadap fakta dandata.Teknik evaluasi merupakan metode yang digunakan agar suatu tujuanevaluasi, yaitu menggali informasi tentang peserta didik dapat tercapai. Untukmelakukan evaluasi maka evaluator harus menguasai teknik evaluasi. Denganpenilaian guru akan mengetahui perkembangan hasil belajar, intelegensi, bakatkhusus, minat, hubungan sosial, sikap dan kepribadian siswa atau peserta didik.Untuk keperluan evaluasi diperlukan teknik evaluasi yang bermacam-macam,seperti kuesioner, tes, skala, format observasi, dan lain-lain. Dari sekian banyakteknik evaluasi, secara umum dapat dikelompokkan menjadi dua, yakni teknik tesdan non-tes. Khusus untuk evaluasi hasil pembelajaran teknik evaluasi yangpaling banyak digunakan adalah tes.

Abstract

Guava “Crystal” is one of Indonesia’s most popular varieties; its demand continues to increase, so it is important to examine methods to increase fruit production. This research aims to increase the flowering and fruiting of guava “Crystal” through branch-bending and application of biofertilizer. The results showed that pruning + bending significantly increased the number of shoots by 15.8%, shoot length by 11.16%, and leaf number by 15.09%. This treatment also increased flower number by 88.84%, fruit number by 77.9%, and double the fruit weight. Biofertilizers significantly increased vegetative growth in the form of the number of shoots (5.12%), shoot length (9.21%), and number of leaves (10.29%). Pruning + bending and biofertilizer did not significantly affect weight per fruit, fruit diameter, fruit volume, fruit firmness, total soluble solids, total titratable acids, and vitamin C content.

Abstract

The village is the most real place where all economic and social activities of the community occur. From the village, all kinds of problems can be found along with the potential that can be developed. The existing potential needs to be developed so that the benefits can be felt by the surrounding community. Community service through the BIMA program in Cihideung Udik Village is carried out as an effort to encourage this potential. The service is carried out for 8 months from July to December 2024 with the aim of encouraging village progress by developing a rural business ecosystem through crystal guava commodities under the title of tourist villages. The scheme for developing a commodity-based business ecosystem is carried out in several stages starting from socialization, FGD, training, and intensive mentoring. Training and mentoring are key in completing the needs to form a village business ecosystem. The success indicators of the training and mentoring scheme are reflected in several aspects such as institutions, plant conditions, and community socialization. The institutional aspect gives good results with collaboration between institutions so that a tourist plan is born in Cihideung Udik Village. Meanwhile, the condition of the plants is considered good with a growth percentage reaching 100% and an average plant height reaching 60.84 cm. This shows that the training and mentoring scheme implemented is very effective so that it has a direct good impact on farmers. The development of this crystal guava commodity will help the economic growth of the local community and increase the tourist attractions in Cihideung Udik Village.

Abstract

Abiu fruit harvested at the fully-ripe stage typically exhibits a shorter shelf life compared to those harvested at the half-ripe stage. Despite the longer shelf life, those at the half-ripe stage are more susceptible to shriveling during storage, particularly on the green part. This study aims to mitigate shriveling and enhance the postharvest quality of abiu fruit through ethylene application. The treatments consisted of 2 ethylene application methods (1-second dip and 60-second soak) and 4 concentrations [control (0 ppm), 100, 200, and 400 ppm]. The fruit was stored at room temperature (26 ± 2°C and RH 82 ± 2%) after ethylene application. The results showed that the soak application can reduce shriveling by 31% and extending the shelf life by up to 2 days. Decreasing of shriveling incidence also found in the 100, 200, and 400 ppm ethylene concentration by 29%, 52%, and 52%, respectively which lead to extend the shelf life up to 4 days. The soaking method and 100 ppm ethylene concentration were the most effective among all treatments, which were able to reduce shriveling by up to 63% and extend the shelf life of abiu fruit by up to 4 days.
