Abstract

Abstract

Entrepreneurial interest needs to grow among university students to increase the number of entrepreneurs in society. Factors such as adversity quotient, learning motivation, and self-confidence can influence entrepreneurial interest. This study aimed to determine the effect of adversity quotient, learning motivation, and self-confidence on entrepreneurial interest. The purposive sampling was used in this study.  Subjects in the study were 240 students in an entrepreneurship course in the Agribusiness Study Programme, Agriculture Faculty, Mulawarman University, East Kalimantan Province, Indonesia. This study analyzed the validity and reliability of scales, test of normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity, formulated the model of multiple linear regression, F test, t test, and calculated adjusted R2. The results of this study indicate that the adversity quotient, learning motivation, and self-confidence significantly influence entrepreneurial interest. Adversity quotient and learning motivation, partially, influence very significantly on entrepreneurial interest. However, self-confidence does not have a significant influence on entrepreneurial interest. Those findings help increase people's motivation to become entrepreneurs, especially young people.

Abstract

This research aims to enhance the you only look once (YOLO) model for pedestrian detection in environments with varying lighting conditions, particularly in low-light scenarios. The primary contribution of this work is the integration of a convolutional neural network (CNN)-based low-light enhancement model, which transforms dark images into brighter, more discernible ones. This enhanced dataset is subsequently used to train the YOLO model, allowing it to learn from both the original and transformed data distributions. Unlike traditional YOLO training approaches, this method generates more accurate data representations in challenging lighting environments, leading to improved detection outcomes. The novelty of this approach lies in its dual-stage training process, which integrates a CNNbased low-light enhancement model with YOLO’s detection capabilities. This combination not only enhances pedestrian detection but also has the potential for application in other domains, such as vehicle detection and surveillance, particularly in challenging lighting conditions. The automatic dataset collection pipeline provides an efficient way to gather diverse training data across various scenarios. The YOLOv8 model trained on the low-light enhanced dataset significantly outperformed the baseline model trained only on the original dataset, with precision increased by 9.8%, recall by 45.7%, mAP50 by 26.8%, and mAP50-95 by 41.0% when validated on dark images.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to analyze the effect of health education on salted fish consumption in improving knowledge among patients with hypertension. The research used a pre-test and post-test design with 40 respondents selected through accidental sampling at Barombong Public Health Center, Makassar. Data analysis using the McNemar test showed a p-value of 0.000 (< α = 0.05), indicating a significant increase in knowledge after the educational intervention. A total of 21 respondents improved from poor to good knowledge. These findings suggest that nutrition education related to salted fish consumption can serve as an effective contextual learning resource for hypertension prevention. This locally relevant educational approach supports nurses’ roles in health promotion and can be developed into practical learning materials or media in community-based nursing care. Thus, the study reinforces the importance of contextual nutrition education in promotive and preventive health interventions. Keywords: health education, hypertension, salted fish, knowledge

Abstract

The UNASMAN Language and Character Development Institute (LBPK) is used by all UNASMAN students to improve their English skills so they can continue their studies abroad and as alumni can later compete in the world of work with other alumni both nationally and internationally. This research aims to group student scores in the English Sunset program at the Unasman Language and Character Development Institute (LBPK) using the K-Means method. The K-Means method was chosen because of its effective ability to group data based on similarity of attributes, making it possible to identify groups of students with similar value characteristics. Student score data is collected, processed and analyzed using the K-Means algorithm to determine the optimal number of clusters. The research results show that students can be grouped into three main clusters: students with high scores, medium scores, and low scores. This information provides valuable insight for LBPK in designing more targeted teaching strategies and providing additional support for student groups in need. Feasibility analysis from a technological and operational perspective shows that this system can be implemented with adequate infrastructure and sufficient training support for staff and lecturers. This research confirms that the K-Means method can be used effectively to improve the qualitys of learning at LBPK Unasman.
