Abstract

The diversity of ethnic groups in Indonesia gives rise to many cultures, traditions and local wisdom that live and develop in society. Culture itself is divided into several sectors that support various kinds of community life. Local wisdom in North Sumatra has many types and also diversity. And this research was conducted to see the shift in cultural values and local traditions in the lives of people in North Sumatra. This study uses data analysis with a qualitative descriptive method. This method is an analysis that tries to provide a picture based on the facts obtained in the field. These data are of course supported by primary and secondary data to support this research process. This qualitative research is presented with a description and also assisted with the calculation of numbers, percentages obtained in the process of collecting and analyzing data. These data were analyzed by means of descriptive. Concept development, data collection and facts regarding shifts in cultural values and local traditions in the lives of the people of North Sumatra, underwent a process in this globalization era. And this research shows that there is a shift in values in culture and traditions as well as local wisdom in North Sumatra which certainly has an impact on shifts in the community environment.

Abstract

This research discusses the activities of tadarus (recitation) and tadabbur (reflection) of the Qur'an carried out by the employees of the Library of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang, which have been conducted for one year to fulfill the employees' knowledge and understanding in the field of religion. The purpose of this research is to review how these tadarus and tadabbur activities impact the performance of the employees. The method used is qualitative research (field qualitative research) that aims to describe the implementation of tadarus and tadabbur of the Qur'an at the Library of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang by examining its impact on employee performance. The research results show that the tradition of tadarus and tadabbur of the Qur'an has a positive impact on the librarians, where the majority of librarians acknowledge that these activities positively affect their work motivation, increase their faith, obedience, and knowledge, enhance inner peace and moral values, foster mutual respect, and improve teamwork. Additionally, the verses reflected upon also provide solutions to their problems, help them avoid stress and work pressure, and assist in overcoming daily challenges and obstacles.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 telah mengubah tatanan kehidupan masyarakat, tidak hanya menyerang Indonesia tetapi juga melanda dunia. Perubahan strategi pembelajaran tentunya dilengkapi dengan media pembelajaran baru untuk menunjang kegiatan pembelajaran. Perubahan sistem pembelajaran biasa menjadi pembelajaran daring juga dibarengi dengan media pembelajaran lainnya. Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri (SMA Negeri) 2 Medan merupakan salah satu lembaga pendidikan yang turut serta melaksanakan kegiatan pembelajaran daring dalam mengatasi permasalahan pendidikan pada masa pandemi Covid-19 saat ini. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dan dalam pelaksanaannya menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Untuk memecahkan permasalahan dalam suatu penelitian dapat dilakukan suatu tindakan yaitu dengan adanya informasi, dan dapat digunakan penelitian deskriptif untuk mengumpulkan data informasi. Temuan dari penelitian ini adalah, siswa kelas sepuluh belajar berbicara bahasa Inggris melalui platform online seperti Google Meet dan Zoom selama pandemi. Guru berhasil memandu diskusi antar siswa sambil menjelaskan konsep dan memberi contoh. Penggunaan media dalam proses pengajaran terbukti bermanfaat, membantu penyampaian pelajaran dan meningkatkan retensi siswa. Pentingnya mendorong anak-anak untuk menggunakan bahasa secara aktif telah digarisbawahi. Dengan memastikan kegiatan belajar mengajar sesuai dengan kurikulum, metode ini memudahkan siswa dalam memahami materi pelajaran.

Abstract

Di Kota Medan, munculnya kain tie-dye sebagai salah satu produk kerajinan berpotensi membawa dampak positif. Dibandingkan dengan jenis kerajinan tekstil lainnya, kain tie-dye lebih menonjol karena proses pembuatannya yang mudah sehingga pembuatan motif pada kain lebih mudah dan lebih mudah dipelajari. Selama berlangsungnya program pelatihan keterampilan ini, ibu-ibu PKK di Desa Limau Manis, Kecamatan Tanjung Morawa turut berpartisipasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini antara lain dengan memberikan ceramah atau penyuluhan, demonstrasi teknik membatik, dan praktik membatik. Ibu-ibu PKK merupakan target audiens dari program pelatihan keterampilan ini yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mereka melalui pelatihan pembuatan tas jinjing tie-dye dan pemasaran melalui internet. Selain untuk melestarikan budaya daerah, kegiatan ini juga bertujuan untuk mendorong lebih banyak lagi usaha kreatif di masyarakat. Masyarakat Desa Limau Manis yang terletak di Kecamatan Tanjung Morawa diharapkan dapat memperoleh manfaat ekonomi dengan mendapatkan pelatihan pembuatan tas jinjing motif tie-dye. Hasil Program pelatihan keterampilan ini adalah Ibu-ibu PKK berhasil membuat tote bag dengan motif tie-dye yang menarik dan beragam, menunjukkan kreativitas mereka dalam mengaplikasikan teknik yang diajarkan. Selain meningkatkan keterampilan, kegiatan pelatihan tie-dye tote bag juga memberikan keterampilan baru kepada ibu-ibu PKK Desa Limau Manis, yang dapat digunakan untuk menghasilkan produk kreatif bernilai ekonomi tinggi, serta membuka peluang untuk pengembangan usaha kecil berbasis keterampilan.

Abstract

Reading is one of the essential abilities that must be possessed by everyone because through reading, one can access a lot of information and knowledge. Additionally, reading is also considered one of the gateways to knowledge. The implementation of the extensive reading method can improve the reading ability of the 10th-grade students at SMA Negeri 4 Sembilan. According to researchers, the application of the extensive reading method is one way to enhance students' reading skills. The population in this study consists of 22 students from the 10th grade at SMA Negeri 4 Sembilan. This research employs two tests, namely the pre-test and post-test, and the results of these tests will be compared to determine whether there has been an improvement or not. The average score of the pre-test is 53.86. On the other hand, the average post-test score in cycle 1 is 63.86, and in cycle 2, it is 75. There were significant improvements after implementing the Extensive Reading Approach. This indicates that the use of the Extensive Reading Approach can enhance students' reading skills. By utilizing Extensive Reading in teaching reading, particularly reading skills, the reading ability of the 10th-grade students at SMAN 4 Sembilan can be improved. Students prefer this approach because it helps them in their reading. Hence, the Extensive Reading Approach can enhance students' reading skills.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to obtain empirical evidence about the effect of Digital Storytelling on students' English narrative writing skills. The object of this research was 150 class XI students of SMAN 1 Pantai Labu which was carried out in August 2023. The research method was quasi-experimental. The sampling technique is purposive sampling; it was conducted in class XI at SMAN 1 Pantai Labu class XI MIA 2 as an experimental class while class XI IIS 2 as a control class. Both the experimental class and the control class consisted of 30 students. The instrument used in this research was a writing test. There is a pre-test and post-test on writing narrative texts given to students. Data was obtained in this research by statistical calculations. Based on the research results, the researcher concluded that the narrative writing ability of class XI students at SMAN 1 Pantai Labu in the experimental class was good. The highest score on the post-test was 70 (4 students) and the lowest score on the post-test was 50 (5 students). The writing ability of students in the control class is sufficient. The highest score on the post test was 85 (5 students) and the lowest score on the post test was 60 (1 student). From the findings, the description of the mean score of the students™ pre-test and post-test of experimental class showed improvement. The mean score of pre-test and post-test of experimental class were 65.67 and 74.33 which showed improvement. The data showed that the use of  Digital Storytelling in teaching the students™ writing skill especially in narrative is effective.

Abstract

Kaum perempuan juga mempunyai andil besar dalam kegiatan penanggulangan kemiskinan melalui pemberdayaan masyarakat. Salah satunya kaum perempuan dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan keluarganya dengan melakukan kegiatan usaha produktif rumah tangga, dengan memproduksi dan menjual makan rumahan. Peluang bisnis makanan rumahan masih terbuka karena makanan rumahan merupakan makanan pokok masyarakat, dimana makanan tersebut dibutuhkan setiap saat. Bisnis makanan rumahan tidak terlalu sulit dilakukan, karena ibu-ibu rumah tangga dapat melakukan kegiatan produksi atau memasak sekaligus untuk keluarganya dan bahan bakunya mudah diperoleh di pasar-pasar tradisional. Dan juga merupaakan konsep mencipkan makanan yang halal dan thoibah Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan Ibu-ibu Rumah Tangga JL.Karya Mandiri RT.04 RW.01, 01 Kelurahan perhentian marpoyan damai pekanbaru, dapat memperbaiki manajemen usaha dan mencari peluang usaha yang dapat dilakukan dari rumah tanpa harus meninggalkan keluarga.

Abstract

The problem in this research is that children learn dance from teachers who are not competent in their field and do not have experience with the Aceh Bungong Jeumpa dance both in terms of theory and practice. Teachers who teach have a sports education background. The teacher only shows the Aceh Bungong Jeumpa dance movements via video to the children but does not mention the names of the movements used. This research aims to describe Acehnese dance in terms of its application to the Kinesteric Intelligence of Early Childhood. Researchers use qualitative methods to collect the data needed by researchers using interviews, observation, and documentation techniques. The results of the research stated that 1) The implementation of Acehnese dance learning in the Pembina Simpang Ulim Kindergarten was carried out when the farewell events at school were approaching. Dance learning is not focused as a subject or only as an activity held when a farewell event is approaching, so in art lessons, teachers only focus on singing activities accompanied by movements that are expected to provide joy to children. 2) The application of Acehnese dance learning to improve the kinesthetic intelligence of early childhood at the Pembina Simpang Ulim State Kindergarten, researchers observed through observation sheets that the researchers carried out for three cycles. In cycle I, children also have not yet memorized the rhythm of the song Bungong Jeumpa so it is still difficult to direct children to follow the movements that are conveyed during the dance activities taught. In cycle II, several obstacles were still encountered, such as children still not focusing enough on learning the dance taught by the teacher, then children still not memorizing the movements according to the bungong jump dance. Meanwhile, in cycle III, children can follow the Acehnese dance movements according to the directions given by the teacher. Therefore, this research is considered successful and there is no need to carry out teaching in the next cycle.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar Pendidikan Pancasila siswa melalui model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan berbantuan media uripod. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari 24 siswa kelas V-1 di SD Negeri 060843 Medan, sedangkan objek penelitian ini adalah model PBL berbantuan media curipod untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, dengan materi mengenal karateristik wilayah. Jenis penelitain ini yaitu penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes pilihan ganda. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, dimana masing-masing siklus terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian inin menunjukkan hasil belajar dengan menggunakan model PBL berbantuan media curipod membuat siswa lebih aktif dan terlibat, dimana curipod menggunakan fitur interaktif seperti polling, world cloud, dan kuis yang membuat siswa ikut serta secara langsung dalam pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil belajar Pendidikan Pancasila pada pra siklus, ditemukan bahwa hanya 9 dari 24 siswa atau 37,5% yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar. Setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran PBL berbantuan media curipod pada sisklus I, jumlah siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar meningkat menjadi 18 dari 24 siswa atau 75%. Pada akhir siklus II, jumlah siswa yang menacapi ketuntasan belajar meningkat lagi menjadi 22 dari 24 siswa atau 91,67%. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dari pra siklus sampai siklus II. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa meningkat dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning berbantuan media curipod di kelas V-1 SD Negeri 060843 Medan.

Abstract

Communities have an important role in preserving culture and also local wisdom in the area where they live and live. The role of the community is very important to maintain and also develop local culture and wisdom and traditions so that they continue to live and accompany the community in every life. This research aims to determine the role of society in the development of culture and local wisdom in the era of digital media and globalization. The research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method that collects data in an incentive and systematic way to obtain information and also knowledge about the role of the community in developing local culture and wisdom in the digital media era. In this studyresearchers will interact and communicate with the community, especially in the province ofNorth Sumatra regarding the role of the community in developing local culture and wisdom in the digital media era. In particular, this era of globalization has had a huge influence onthe world of art and culture, especially the local cultures of the local community, which are beginning to erode and are also in danger of extinction.
