Abstract

Purpose – Robotics learning in higher education requires the integration of conceptual understanding and practical skills, yet the availability of learning media that effectively bridges theory and practice remains limited. This study aimed to develop a flying robot–based Trainer Kit learning media for robotics courses and to examine its feasibility through expert validation, practicality evaluation, and a limited trial of student learning outcomes. Design – The study employed a research and development (R&D) approach using the Four-D model, limited to the Define, Design, and Develop stages. A limited trial was conducted using a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 12 students enrolled in a Robotics course. Findings – The validation results showed an average score of 4.20 from media experts and 4.33 from material experts (very valid category). The practicality questionnaire results indicated high usability, with average scores of 4.53 from students and 4.38 from lecturers (very practical category). Student learning outcomes improved from a mean pretest score of 56.58 to a posttest score of 89.25, with an average N-Gain of 0.75 (high category). A paired-samples t-test indicated a statistically significant improvement (p < 0.001) with a very large practical effect (Cohen’s d ≈ 9.23). Research implications –  These findings indicate that the developed learning media is valid and practical and showed improved learning outcomes in a limited trial (N=12). However, the results should be interpreted as preliminary evidence due to the one-group design and small sample size. Originality – This study develops and evaluates a flying robot–based Trainer Kit as an innovative learning media to bridge theory and practice in robotics education.

Abstract

This study addresses the challenge of integrating religious values into science learning, a gap often resulting in low student engagement and weak character development. The research examines the effect of an Islamic-based contextual teaching and learning (CTL) model on the science learning motivation and environmental care attitudes of Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Takalar. Using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, the study involved two groups: an experimental group receiving Islamic-based CTL and a control group taught with conventional methods. Data were collected through pretest–posttest measurements and analysed using descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests, and hypothesis testing with SPSS 24. The results revealed that the experimental group experienced a significant improvement in science learning motivation (25.14% increase) and environmental care attitude (25.43% increase), compared to the control group’s modest gains of 9.44% and 9.70%, respectively. Statistical analysis confirmed that these differences were significant, indicating the effectiveness of Islamic-based CTL in fostering cognitive engagement and positive behavioural change. It is concluded that integrating Islamic values within CTL strengthens students’ intrinsic motivation and moral responsibility toward environmental stewardship. The model thus contributes to the pedagogical framework of CTL by embedding spiritual values into practical learning contexts. This research provides theoretical enrichment for CTL models and practical guidance for educators seeking holistic approaches to science education. Future studies should explore similar integrations across subjects and educational levels to reinforce sustainable, value-based education.

Abstract

This classroom action research addressed the low learning outcomes and passive participation of Grade VII students in Akidah Akhlak at SMP TQ Muadz Bin Jabbal, which were initially hindered by conventional, teacher-centred methods. The Index Card Match (ICM) model was implemented in the social constructivist learning theory to create interactive and collaborative learning. The study aimed to improve the process and learning outcomes, specifically targeting increased mastery and active involvement in each cycle. Employing the Kemmis & McTaggart PTK model across two cycles, the research involved the subject teacher and all students in the class. Data were collected through observation, tests, interviews, and documentation, then analysed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative approaches. Findings revealed a progressive improvement from pre-cycle to the second cycle, with significant growth in mastery levels, engagement, and collaborative skills. Students became more confident in expressing ideas, while the teacher became a facilitator. These results affirm that ICM can enhance understanding and moral values simultaneously. This research contributes to classroom practice improvement, teacher professional development, and strengthens the evidence base for cooperative, game-based learning models.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the process of holistic education based learning programs at SMAIT Al-Fityan School Gowa. The research focuses on learning development, learning integration, teacher strategies, student responses, learning interactions, and the use of methods. This study employs an evaluative research design using a mixed-methods approach with an explanatory sequential design. Quantitative data collection and analysis were conducted first through the distribution of questionnaires to 30 students, followed by qualitative data collection through interviews with 3 teachers and 6 students to gain a more comprehensive understanding. The findings indicate that the evaluation of the holistic education-based learning program at SMAIT Al-Fityan School Gowa showed that 73.3% of the outcomes were at the “sufficiently achieved” or “fairly good” level. The learning process has developed students’ knowledge, attitudes, skills, and character; integrated various dimensions of holistic education namely intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual dimensions; employed varied learning strategies; created a pleasant classroom atmosphere; and strengthened student interactions. However, the implementation of the learning process still faces challenges, particularly in developing students’ skills, integrating physical aspects, and maintaining consistency in learning strategies. This study concludes that holistic education-based learning is important to implement in the classroom because it emphasizes the holistic and integrated development of students, encompassing intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual, and physical aspects. This approach views the learning process not merely as the transfer of knowledge, but as the process of forming the whole person, which takes place within specific social, cultural, and value systems.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze public administration services at the Sakita Village Office, Bungku Tengah Sub-district, Morowali Regency. This study was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method with a descriptive research type. The data used consisted of primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation, with 5 informants. Data analysis followed Miles, Huberman, and Saldana’s model: data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. This study employed Lovelock’s theory of five public service indicators: Tangible, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, and Empathy. The results show that public administration services in Sakita Village are fairly good, demonstrating progress in digitalization, transparency, and officers’ attentiveness, particularly through the implementation of the Peapua application. However, its implementation is not yet optimal due to limited socialization, inadequate facilities, and low discipline among village officials who are often absent. These issues cause delays in services, such as the issuance of domicile certificates, which often exceed the standard processing time stated in the SOP. Among the five service dimensions, Tangible and Reliability remain constrained by infrastructure, staff presence, and technical issues; Responsiveness and Empathy are rated positively as officers are proactive, friendly, and communicative; while Assurance is adequate but weakened by dependence on a single operator. Therefore, improvements in discipline, staff capacity, equitable distribution of responsibilities, and the provision of facilities and infrastructure are urgent to ensure more effective and efficient public services.
