Abstract

This study was carried out on a 239,439.63 ha unit of dry land in the Aceh Besar Regency. The Soil and Plant Science Laboratory and the Soil Physics Laboratory at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Syiah Kuala, analyzed soil and biomass samples. Twelve different land use types in the Aceh Besar Regency's dry land are the research locations. Utilizing a methodology with the number SNI 7724:2011, the Indonesian National Standards Agency established the biomass measuring and sampling procedure in 2011. According to the study's findings, the primary forest land use type has the greatest potential for absorbing CO2 in the forest land use type, followed by the following. Pine forest, secondary forest, teak forest, eucalyptus forest, and bush forest, in that order. In contrast, the land use categories of mixed gardens, moors, bushes, grassland, rainfed rice fields, and bare ground have the highest potential for absorbing CO2. Primary forests have the largest overall carbon dioxide absorption among the many forest land use types. These are followed, in order, by secondary forests, bush forests, eucalyptus forests, pine forests, and teak forests. The primary forest land use type has the largest total CO2 absorption among the non-forest land use types, followed by grasslands, shrubs, mixed gardens, rainfed rice fields, moorland, and bare ground, in that order. The Aceh Besar Regency's numerous dry land uses can benefit from enhanced natural and environmental sustainability due to the wide stem diameter and abundance of woody plants, which can also increase CO2 absorption. Highlights High CO2 potential and sequestration are critical in controlling climate change Humans play an important role in regulating and maintaining the availability of plants to maintain environmental stability. Forest protection plays an important role in maintaining the biodiversity of plants, animals, and endangered species in protected forest areas.

Abstract

Microplastics, or plastic particles smaller than 5 mm, are a growing ecotoxicological problem for both human health and aquatic habitats. Even though microplastic pollution affects the air, water, and land widely, these habitats are often viewed as distinct from one another while in fact they are tightly related. The purpose of this work is to review the body of scientific literature on microplastic studies in Indonesian watershed sediment. Google Scholar has identified around 57 papers about microplastic pollution that were published between 2017 and 2023. Papers about sediment for rivers, lakes, marine, and estuaries are categorized further based on (i) their occurrence and characterization, (ii) their intake by and effects on species, and (iii) their fate and transport issues. Even at low concentrations of 10 g/mL, microplastics cause harmful effects for people and animals, including cytotoxicity, immunological response, oxidative stress, barrier characteristics, and genotoxicity. When marine animals eat microplastics, their gastrointestinal tract physiology changes, and they also experience immune system depression, oxidative stress, cytotoxicity, differential gene expression, and growth inhibition. In addition, the bioaccumulation of microplastics in aquatic creatures' tissues may harm the aquatic ecosystem and may spread to people and birds. Through behavioural changes and policy changes, such imposing taxes, bans, or price increases on plastic carrier bags, plastic usage has been dramatically decreased to 885% in many different nations across the globe. The strategy for minimizing microplastics is structured like an upside-down pyramid: prevention is at the top, then reduction, reuse, recycling, recovery, and, as the least desirable alternative, disposal. Keywords:MicroplasticsSedimentIndonesia WatersEnvironmental RiskPollutant Aquatic

Abstract

Abstract

Nilai Keseragaman (E) pada stasiun I 0,60, Stasiun II 0,30, Stasiun III 0,60. Kata Penting: Aceh Jaya, Kepadatan, Keanekaragaman, Keseragaman, Dominansi,.AbstractGastropods are aquatic organisms found in various types of habitats ranging from shallow waters, sandy waters, coral reefs and deep seas. The gastropods that live in mangrove areas determine the type of substrate that lives in them. The aim of this research is to analyze the structure of the gastropod community as a bioindicator and substrate type in the Gampong Baro mangrove Ecotourism Area, Setia Bakti District, Aceh Jaya Regency. This research was conducted from February to March 2024, using a purposive sampling method. Sampling was carried out at 3 stations with 5 repetitions using a 10 m x 10 m transect with a 1x1 plot. The results of research at three stations in the Gampong Baro mangrove ecotourism area, Setia Bakti District, Aceh Jaya Regency, found 5 species of gastropods consisting of 3 families with a total of 301 individuals. The highest density (D) of gastropods was found at station III at 23.2 ind/m2. Diversity value (H') at station I 1.24 Station II 0.26 Station III 1.85. Uniformity Value (E) at Station I 0.60 Station II 0.30, Station III 0.60. The Dominance (C) value is 0.91 and the lowest is 0.30. This shows that the level of gastropod diversity in this area is relatively low, the level of averance is also low, and there are species of gastropods that dominate, namely the faunus ater species which is one of the environmental bioindicators. Environmental physico-chemical factors are still within the threshold of gastropod life. Substrate conditions have a big influence on the life of gastropods. Keywords: Aceh Jaya, Density, Diversity, Averance, Dominance,
