Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Maritime and Shipping Management Information System Application (SIMKAPEL) in the issuance of ship safety certificates at the Class III Port Authority and Harbour Office of Tanjung Pakis Lamongan. The research method used is a descriptive quantitative approach, with data collection through questionnaires and observation. Before the implementation of SIMKAPEL, the certificate issuance process was conducted manually, leading to delays and inaccuracies. After the implementation of SIMKAPEL, there was a significant improvement in service efficiency and accuracy, marked by a faster and more transparent process. The Wilcoxon test showed a significance value of 0.001, indicating a significant improvement in service quality post-implementation. SIMKAPEL was developed as a solution to address issues in archiving services within government agencies. It is designed to digitize the recording, storage, and retrieval processes of archives, thus enhancing administrative service efficiency and effectiveness. The system implementation accelerates work processes, minimizes data loss, and improves accuracy and accessibility of archive information. SIMKAPEL is also equipped with user authentication features, activity log recording, and keyword-based document search. It is expected that SIMKAPEL will become a model for the development of reliable and integrated archiving information systems in various public service agencies.

Abstract

In Indonesia's shipping sector, ship certificates and documents are essential for verifying a ship's seaworthiness. One of the key certificates is the BKI, which consists of two types: statutory and class certificates. Statutory certificates are further divided into Marpol and Solas certificates. Marpol certificates include international and national types, while Solas certificates focus on ship safety and security. Class certificates cover the ship's hull and machinery. However, challenges often arise during the endorsement of both statutory and class certificates, requiring analysis to identify the factors that hinder the endorsement process and optimize these activities. This research uses a qualitative approach, with data collected from ships experiencing issues during the certificate endorsement period at PT. Logindo Samudramakmur Tbk between 2023 and 2024. The data collection techniques include observation, documentation, and literature review. The findings show that the biggest hindrance is the offshore location, which limits access to the area. Other factors, such as inappropriate findings onboard and bad weather, also contribute to delays. The research recommends optimizing access availability and performing routine ship maintenance to ensure the smooth and optimal operation of certificate endorsement activities.

Abstract

Ship stability problems are one of the causes of ship accidents such as ships that are difficult to control, unbalanced and sinking, either at sea during shipping or during loading and unloading. This is the background for the need to improve ship safety systems to reduce ship accidents. The purpose of this research is to accurately monitor the loading and unloading slope and determine the maximum distance that can be connected to LoRa. The working system of this tool is made with the intention of preventing ship accidents and creating a better sea transportation system. The work process of this tool is done by reading the tilt angle of the ship which will then be read through the LCD screen and the LED lights will light up and the buzzer will sound if it reaches a certain tilt angle. Making it easier for loading and unloading operators to manage their cargo so that the ship remains stable. The methodology and design of the applied scientific work tool system that will be carried out using experimental research methods. Experimental research methods are used to produce certain products, and test their effectiveness. The results of research on this applied scientific work are the accuracy of the gyroscope sensor GY-521 mpu-6050 which is 98.71% with an error of 1.29% and the distance of LoRa Ra-02 SX1278 that can be reached on a stable wireless system is as far as 370m in water and 205m on land. More than that the receiver cannot receive data anymore or is invalid.
