Abstract

Allah created humans as a ummah wahidah, even though humanity consists of various tribes and races humanity is one people, but recently humans often clash with each other, and even fellow Muslims have become divided. others are caused by differences of opinion that give rise to disputes. Even though Islam commands its people to unite with each other, not divide and not fight because Islam exists to be able to care for existing differences, this is proven by the existence of nine verses that discuss the unity and unity of the Ummah. Therefore, the researcher wants to examine more deeply the concept of ummah wahidah in the thoughts of Muhammad Mustafa al-Maraghi in the book Tafsir al-Maraghi. This research aims to find out the meaning of the phrase ummah wahidah in al-Maraghi's interpretation, find out the relevance of the concept of ummah wahidah offered in the current context, and answer existing problems. The method used in this research is library research. The results of this research are the results of Sheikh al-Maraghi's interpretation of nine verses containing several phrases ummah wahidah. The meanings in Sheikh al-Maraghi's interpretation include one person in terms of religion, one person in terms of their faith, one person in terms of the Shari'a, one person in terms of disbelief, and one person in the search for truth. The concept of ummah wahidah offered by Sheikh al-Maraghi is still relevant in the current context, seen from the fact that currently there are still many conflicts between communities caused by differences in views. So this interpretation is useful as a solution to existing problems.

Abstract

The Quran is considered the word of Allah and was revealed to the last messenger by the angel Gabriel. It is a religious duty for Muslims to read the Quran, as they believe it to be the only reliable source of life guidance. The Prophet Muhammad SAW was instructed to have specialists write down the verses whenever they were revealed, ensuring that the Quran was constantly maintained. Memorizing the Quran is considered one of the greatest virtues and the highest form of worship before Allah SWT. There are various techniques for memorizing the Quran, including the Sorongan method, which has drawbacks such as lower time efficiency and effectiveness, as well as difficulties with memorization, including boredom and forgetfulness. To make memorizing the Quran easier and more effective, an application has been developed, providing personalized and interactive features tailored to individual needs. Additionally, the application addresses the monotony of the memorization process and can improve concentration and memory quality. The innovative Tarteel AI technology combines artificial intelligence to make learning the Quran more organized and effective. The application offers benefits such as reciting, memorizing, and searching the Quran. This study employs a descriptive qualitative literature research methodology and uses data reduction, data presentation, and data analysis techniques to acquire reliable data.   Keywords: Application, Tarteel, Memorizing, Al-Qur'an

Abstract

This study examines the interpretation and implementation of the rights and obligations of husband and wife in Islamic law in Indonesian patriarchal society. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method to analyze how Islamic law is interpreted and implemented in the context of patriarchal culture. The findings of the study suggest that patriarchal culture often leads to imbalances in the exercise of the rights and obligations of husband and wife, with husbands tending to have a dominant role in decision-making. In contrast, wives are more involved in domestic work and childcare. This research emphasizes the importance of increasing awareness and understanding of the rights and obligations of husband and wife in Islamic law, as well as reducing the influence of a patriarchal culture that is not by the principles of justice and balance in Islam. The results of this study are expected to provide insights and recommendations to improve balance and justice in marital relations in Muslim communities.

Abstract

This study discusses the concept of obedience according to Bakri Syahid in Tafsir Al-Huda, a Javanese interpretation. This study examines how Bakri Syahid interprets and defines obedience in various speech and Javanese vocabulary levels, from Ngoko to krama. This interpretation shows the importance of obedience, as obedience is passive and involves deep appreciation and sincerity. Through a qualitative approach and library research method, the author examines 54 verses of the Qur'an containing the word and its derivations ṭā‘ah and identifies five levels of obedience, from the lowest (Ngrujuki) to the highest (Ngestokaken Dhawuh). The author also examines the meaning of each interpretation of ṭā‘ah in Javanese through several dictionaries and books on Javanese grammar. In addition, in studying the verses, the author considers the Asbabun Nuzul verses and Ibn Kathir's interpretation as a comparison to make this research as objective as possible. This research concludes that obedience, according to Bakri Syahid, involves seriousness, conformity between words, heart, and deeds, sincerity, conformity to the rules, readiness in all circumstances, consistency, love, and respect in carrying out Allah's commands.

Abstract

This study explores the development and trends in Quranic exegesis research based on publications indexed in the Scopus database between 1994 and 2023. The research aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the patterns, themes, and contributions in this field while highlighting areas for future scholarly exploration. Utilizing advanced data analysis tools, including Ms. Excel, R/R-Studio, and VOSviewer, the study examines key aspects such as publication growth, institutional contributions, author productivity, and thematic focus. The findings reveal significant growth in Quranic exegesis research since 2009, with the highest number of publications recorded in 2022. Malaysia emerges as the leading contributor, with Universiti Malaya identified as the most active institution. The results also indicate a shift in thematic focus, integrating modern topics such as religious moderation, social media, and discourse analysis alongside traditional areas like Quranic interpretation and linguistics. Despite these advancements, the study identifies a limited level of international collaboration, with fewer than 6% of publications involving cross-national authorship. This highlights the need for more significant global partnerships to enrich perspectives and foster innovation in Quranic studies. The insights provided by this study offer a valuable reference for researchers and institutions, paving the way for future advancements in Quranic exegesis research.

Abstract

Surah An-Nur verses 58-59 discusses manners and ethics in the household, especially related to the right to privacy of fellow family members and personal boundaries. This research aims to analyze in depth and interpret the meaning contained in Surah An-Nur verses 58-59, focusing on the perspective of Al-Azhar interpretation by Buya Hamka while looking at the historical and social context of the descent of these verses, as well as exploring how they are applied in the context of modern life. The research method used is a literature study with a thematic interpretation approach (maudhu'i). The results of the study show that the interpretation of Tafsir Al-Azhar Surah An-Nur verses 58-59 emphasizes the values of character education, politeness, and the importance of maintaining the right to privacy of family members in the home, where in this modern era, the concept of privacy in the home also intersects with issues such as early puberty, household ethics and the right to privacy in the wider community. Analysis of the interpretation of Al-Azhar and also the opinion of Buya Hamka is expected to influence a deeper mindset and understanding for a person regarding social ethics and the right to privacy in a social society.

Abstract

This study examines the prevalent social phenomenon of "flexing," where individuals publicly display wealth, achievements, or personal relationships. This behavior, commonly seen both offline and on social media, is analyzed through the lens of Islamic teachings, particularly the Makkiyah Verses of the Qur'an. By examining verses from surahs such as Al-A'raf, Al-Isra, Al-Kahfi, and Al-Furqan, the study identifies moral guidance that encourages humility, simplicity, and moderation—values often contradicted by flexing attitudes. Through a thematic analysis of these verses, supported by the interpretation of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag), the research highlights how these teachings can serve as a framework for addressing the cultural shift towards excessive self-promotion and consumerism. This qualitative library research approach aims to contextualize Qur'anic moral principles as a counter to societal behaviors that may foster envy, pride, or social imbalance. Ultimately, the study advocates for the reinforcement of modesty and gratitude, aiming to provide a religious and moral perspective on flexing as a modern cultural trend, demonstrating the ongoing relevance of Qur'anic ethics in addressing contemporary social issues. The findings contribute to understanding the role of Islamic teachings in guiding personal conduct and promoting social harmony in the face of materialistic pressures.

Abstract

This study explores the concept of photosynthesis as described in the Qur'an. The research examines verses that reference plant life, such as Surah Al-An’am: 99, and analyzes their relevance to the process of photosynthesis, which involves chlorophyll, sunlight, and the production of oxygen. Through a comparative approach, the study contrasts two interpretations: the Ministry of Religion’s Tafsir Ilmi, which combines traditional exegesis with scientific insights to highlight the symbiotic relationship between faith and science, and Zaghlul An-Najjar’s Tafsir Ayat Al-Kauniyah, which delves into specific scientific elements within the Qur'anic text. This study emphasizes how both interpretations seek to reconcile religious teachings with modern scientific understanding, providing readers with a multifaceted view of how photosynthesis is portrayed in Islamic scripture. It highlights key verses linking natural processes to divine creation, suggesting that scientific phenomena like photosynthesis are aligned with Islamic teachings on the interdependence between nature and spirituality. The findings underscore the Qur'an’s relevance to contemporary science and its potential to inspire deeper ecological awareness within the framework of religious belief.
