Abstract

This study investigates the phenomenon of the public linguistic landscape, which reveals the use of language in the Tiban Mosque in Malang, East Java. The goal of this research was to describe the language contestation practiced in the Tiban mosque. Furthermore, the purpose of this research is to describe the function of language in the linguistic landscape at the Tiban Malang mosque. The collected data was then classified as monolingual, bilingual, or multilingual. The qualitative descriptive method is used in this linguistic landscape study. Data is collected by observing the location, photographing the object building, and documenting it. According to the findings of this study, the linguistic landscape in the vicinity of the Tiban Malang Mosque is dominated by monolingual and bilingual speakers. This is used to make it easier for visitors and tourists to visit the Tiban mosque's religious tourism area.

Abstract

Abstract, in response to the emergence of revolution industry 4.0 in education, there have been lots of innovations in teaching in the field of education, especially in teaching of Arabic. This research was conducted to actively answer to this phenomenon. This article focuses on innovation aspect of the method used in teaching of Arabic morphology or what traditionally so called ilm sharf. Many learners of Arabic still have perception that learning Arabic is challenging and difficult. As a result, an innovative method has been developed to help learners in teaching Tashrif Lughawi using finger gymnastic method. This study demonstrated that the adaptation of the method into classroom learning and teaching can attract students’ attention to learn Arabic. The implementation in using the finger gymnastic also revealed that this method enables learners to understand and memorise easily and quickly the Arabic words paradigm. Furthermore, integrating this method can also improve the language skills which include listening, reading, and writing. Keywords: Innovation, Arabic Morphology, Finger Gymnastic, Tashrif

Abstract

The emergence of new vocabulary related to public health is very important for the public to know, especially the new vocabulary about the Covid-19 pandemic in Arabic. This study aims to promote Arabic vocabulary - based teaching materials related to public health to introduce Arabic learners to new vocabulary. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach based on library research by using the steps of preparing teaching materials using the Dick and Carey model. The data for this research is sourced from the online electronic media of the BBC Arabic, using vocabulary adaptation techniques to compile Arabic teaching materials. The results of this study confirm that in the preparation of Arabic teaching materials, the four basic principles of fhe foreign language learning approach are used. Based on the research that has been carried out, it was found that there are several of new vocabularies related to the Covid-19 pandemic in Arabic. Furthermore, the adaptation of the development of new Arabic vocabulary teaching materials is arranged according to the principles and concepts of language learning, so that in the implementation and teaching of new vocabulary students are expected to achieve maximum results.

Abstract

We often see writings or texts in public spaces, commonly referred to as the linguistic landscape, including educational public spaces. Islamic boarding schools or institute that are places of education are inseparable from the existence of the linguistic landscape. This research on the linguistic landscape of the Linguistic Landscape taken from the area of the Pesantren An Nuqayah, Guluk-Guluk, Madura aims to learn more about the use of the linguistic landscape in Islamic boarding schools, especially the well-known institute in Madura. The method used to analyze the presence of the linguistic landscape in this Islamic boarding school is a mixed one. The results of the observation indicated that the use of forms written in the Indonesian language is still prevalent, followed by the use of forms written in foreign languages such as Arabic and English. This is very common because education in Indonesia in general still uses the language of the nation's unity, although of course it does not forget the importance of foreign languages, especially international languages.

Abstract

Digital game becomes more familiar in this young generation. Most of the people particularly young generation love to play game using their personal mobile phone and it seems like to be their habits. In addition, digital games are free for everyone to play as long as they connect to the Internt connection. To exploit this situation, teacher uses it as teaching and learning media to improve students vocabulary in the matter of stduents problem to improve their vocabulary. There are lot of studies which is experimented by digital games to improve vocabulary for their students but only a little talk about the kind of digital game able to be used for improving it. This study is aimed to analyse the digital game especially word game which is available in the play store that suitable for teaching based on the basic competence for seventh grade in curriculum 2013. This study found that only 58,20% of the sutability between the word game and the basic competence.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the problems faced by students during web-based learning, students' insight into the direction given by Islamic senior High School Al-Karomah, besides that this study aims to determine student assumptions in terms of internet learning at  senior High School Al-Karomah, Pamekasan, Madura so that it can run more smoothly. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The technique used in this study is by distributing questionnaires to respondents, the Department of Social Education (IPS) is 26 people and some of the educators who educate at the institution are 8 people, with a total of 36 people. All respondents who were distributed on Google forms, filling out the form took place for 6 days from 13-18 April 2022. The results of this study indicate that there are several impacts found in learning Arabic class XII online at Islamic senior High School Al-Karomah, including : 1). The material presented makes it difficult for students, and finally students have difficulty understanding the material, 2). Inadequate signal during the learning process, 3). limited use of Arabic learning media, 4). interest and inspiration of students, 5). accessible time, there must be additional time, 6). and a less stable learning climate, the teacher's strategy in conditioning the class is less stable.

Abstract

This study investigates a language phenomenon known as Linguistic Landscape, which consists of linguistic signs that are widely used in public spaces, one of which is as exposed in pesantren. Pesantren has unique Islamic environment combines with religious atmosphere and Islamic education that convey information to the public. The aims of this study are to investigate the patterns of language use in the Linguistic Landscape and to identify the function of language use in the pesantren environment. The present study is a qualitative in nature. The sites of the research were pesantren Nurul Falah, Surabaya and pesantren Bahrul Ulum, Tambakberas, Jombang. The data was collected through documentation and direct observation. The research stages include data collection, data analysis, and drawing conclusion. The findings of this research revealed that the patterns of language used in the observed pesantren vary, including monolingual, bilingual, and multilingual signs. The use of language signs in the pesantren environment serves as signboard markers, warning signs, and information signs. The functions of Linguistic Landscape in pesantren surveyed demonstrate the use of informational and symbolic functions.

Abstract

Nowadays, the urgency of using Arabic language makes non Arabic society considering that learning Arabic language is a must especially for Muslims. Ignoring the environment function that applies the use of Arabic language is related as the pride and asset of education institution, however it also has functions such as motivation and learning source for students The researcher arranged this articel to prove that a good formed language environment could be used as a strategies and a factor in learning Arabic language skill. The reseacher used qualitative descriptive approach which was applied with literature review. Moreover, the observation has taken through by social media which some books and journal as resource are needed to find the turth and relevant informations about the main case. The result showed that developing learning media Arabic language for students based on environment could give a significant impact for students’ abilities in writing, reading, speaking or comprehending Arabic language. However in fact, everybody has a natural Language Acquisition Device which helps them easier in language skill. Moreover, that skill is determined by the environmental conditions around each student.

Abstract

The aim of this article is to investigate the PBA UINSA students’ preferences of Indonesian references over Arabic references, despite the fact that their theses are entirely written in Arabic. This study used a qualitative research method. The data collection tehniques performed by observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of this study revealed that the problems faced by the students  of PBA at UINSA in choosing references were as follows: the themes and methods chosen greatly influenced the choice of references, a lack of foreign language vocabulary mastered caused students the need to use Indonesian references, and many references accessible in Indonesian language related to the learning process in Indonesia during the pandemic. Furthermore, when writing the thesis, particularly in the methodolgy section, it was found that a number of references were taken from Indonesian sources. This was done because employing Indonesian references made the subject easier to understand than using foreign-language references.

Abstract

This study examines the 2013 curriculum material by researching the textbook "Terampil Bahasa Arab 1 Class X Senior High School Based on Curriculum 2013" published by AQILA publisher. The book contains a curriculum based on competence and educational character in learning Arabic. The main objective in the discussion of this article is to determine the quality of the 2013 curriculum-based learning books. Researchers used a scientific approach. The method used is descriptive qualitative which focuses on aspects of understanding quality in depth in mufradat texts as well as supporting aspects of 2013 curriculum-based learning books. consistency and gender bias in some mufradat. In the design aspect, the choice of colours to subdue is still lacking because it affects the quality of reader interest.
