Abstract

Indonesia ranks 10th globally in daily social media usage, with Twitter being a prominent platform due to its tweet character limit, catering to modern individuals with low attention spans. As the Directorate General of Taxes exemplifies, government institutions utilize Twitter's popularity for dissemination through the official account @DitjenPajakRI, which has garnered substantial popularity and engagement. This research analyzes the factors influencing engagement, considering independent variables such as the number of characters, hashtags, mentions, media usage, and the choice of days. This research employs a quantitative descriptive method, employing multiple linear regression analysis on cross-sectional data from the @DitjenPajakRI Twitter account. The study reveals that the number of characters, hashtags, and Saturday tweets significantly and positively influence engagement, while mentions and media attachments exert a negative and significant impact. Tweets on other weekdays show no significant influence. These findings underscore the significance of tweet composition in influencing engagement, providing valuable insights for shaping communication strategies within the Directorate General of Taxes.

Abstract

Abstract

Tobacco Plant Production in Indonesia is very massive. East Java is Indonesia's largest tobacco producer. In addition, the tobacco processing industry in East Java contributes one-third of East Java's GDP. This study aims to determine the effect of tobacco consumption, GRDP, district/city minimum wage, processing business units on the absorption of processing industry workers in East Java in 2019-2022. The research method uses a quantitative approach with statistical analysis of regression of fixed effect model (FEM) panel data. The results of the regression analysis of panel data show that an increase in GDP, MSEs, and processing industry units will have a positive effect on employment, while an increase in tobacco consumption will reduce employment. This has implications for the need for appropriate MSE policies, economic growth policies that are in accordance with regional characteristics, the development of new processing industries, and appropriate management of labor-intensive tobacco processing industries

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of home ownership rate, proportion of labor, and crime settlement rate on Human Development Index (HDI) in 6 provinces in Java Island in the period 2015 to 2019. This study used regression panel data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency. The results of this study show that households with their own home ownership have an effect on HDI but the proportion of formal labor and crime resolution rates do not have a significant impact. This finding has implications for regional development policies in Java. Households with self-owned home ownership play an important role in improving the Human Development Index (HDI) by creating stability and security of individual residences. However, the proportion of the formal workforce and the rate of solving crimes do not have a significant impact on HDI, demonstrating the complexity of the factors affecting human development. The implications of these findings can be used as a basis for designing more targeted policies to improve people's welfare at the regional level. Factors such as home ownership can be considered as the main focus in efforts to improve the quality of life and human development in Java

Abstract

In the context of human development, gender equality is considered an important basic dimension, and one way to measure it is with the achievement of the Gender Development Index (GDI). East Java is one of the provinces in Indonesia whose GDI value consistently increases from year to year. This study aims to model GDI growth with latent growth models. The data used was sourced from the Statistics Indonesia of East Java with the research unit of regency in East Java in the 2017-2021 period. The results obtained were sustainable GDI growth in East Java City District. Modelling in latent growth curve method showed that the variation in growth was explained by 99 percent over the 5-year study period. Implementation in this study requires comprehensive and targeted efforts from policy makers in maintaining and increasing IPG growth in East Java

Abstract

This study develops the Solow growth model to explore the determinants of GDP. The purpose of this study is to examine which factor has the most influence on GDP. This study uses panel data regression. The variables used include GDP, FDI, productivity, labor, and the inflation rate during the 2012-2017 period obtained from the World Development Indicators, World Bank. The results showed that the labor and productivity variables had a significant positive impact on GDP. Meanwhile, FDI has no significant adverse effect on GDP. Inflation has no significant positive impact on GDP. The government can focus on increasing labor productivity to reap significant returns on economic growth. The recommendation from this research is that the government should formulate policies that can boost productivity to boost economic growth by providing skills training programs for prospective workers, as well as providing incentives so that more jobs can absorb labor and create competition.

Abstract

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the economy both nationally and nationally. Economic activity slowed down, many businesses closed their businesses, and there was an increase in the poor. The government is conducting fiscal interventions to overcome the impact of the pandemic both on supply and demand. The intervention is expected to keep the economy growing despite being thin. East Java Province had achievements in reducing poverty until the end of 2019; after the pandemic, poverty increased significantly at the end of 2021. This condition is challenging for the Provincial Government and the City / Regency Government in East Java. Therefore, this study analyzes the determinants of poverty in East Java after the pandemic. Data was sourced from the Statistic Indonesia of East Java for 2018-2021. Using a regression of panel data (fixed effect model), we found that the human development index reduced poverty. On the contrary, the Covid pandemic, this ratio, and economic growth positively impact poverty. The implications of the findings suggest the need for comprehensive economic and macro-social policies so that the poverty rate in East Java can be reduced.

Abstract

Background: Access to health services is a fundamental right for every citizen, but its equitable distribution remains challenging due to the influence of several variables. Indonesia has achieved Universal Health Coverage (UHC), but access to health services for those with health problems is still low. Aims: This study aims to determine the variables influencing access to health services in Indonesia. Methods: Longitudinal analysis of panel data was used, and the dataset was taken from the 34 provinces of Indonesia from 2018 to 2022. The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively and analytically by linear regression using STATA software. Results: Individual and family variables influencing access to health services for the population with health problems included variable need (health problem), ownership of health insurance, and ability to pay. Furthermore, the results showed that the number of areas with high poverty rates (socioeconomic) was a contextual factor with a higher level of influence. Conclusion: Based on the results, policies to improve access to health services, a basic human right, could not be solely achieved by the health sector. Therefore, integrated comprehensive planning collaboration of Penta-Helical elements was needed to reduce poverty enclaves. Keywords: ability to pay, access to health services, health insurance, poverty
