Abstract

Academic integrity and learning motivation are two closely related psychological factors that shape how university students engage with their academic responsibilities. Despite growing awareness of their theoretical connection, empirical research directly examining this relationship among first-year Indonesian university students remains limited. This study investigated the relationship between academic integrity and learning motivation among new students (n = 80) of the Economics Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Halu Oleo University (UHO), using a quantitative correlational design with proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected using the Academic Integrity Scale (α = 0.879; 30 items), based on McCabe et al. (2012), and the Learning Motivation Scale (α = 0.903; 27 items), adapted from Ilham et al. (2022). Prerequisite assumption tests confirmed normality (Asymp. Sig. = 0,163), linearity (Sig. Linearity = 0.000), and homoscedasticity (Glejser Sig. = 0.241). Pearson correlation analysis revealed a strong positive relationship (r = 0.654, p < 0.001). Simple linear regression confirmed that academic integrity significantly predicted learning motivation (B = 0.632, β = 0,654, t = 7.635, p < 0.001), accounting for 42.8% of its variance (R² = 0.428, F = 58.296, p < 0.001). These findings demonstrate that building academic integrity from the very start of undergraduate study is a strategically important step in fostering strong, sustained motivation to learn among new students.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the economic function of government in addressing market failures and the challenges of its implementation amidst the dynamics of the modern economy. Theoretically, the price mechanism acts as a signal to coordinate supply and demand, but in practice, markets often fail to produce efficiency and fairness simultaneously. Market failures arise from externalities (e.g., pollution), limited provision of public goods, information asymmetry, and imperfect competition such as monopolies and cartels. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method thru literature review and document analysis of books, journals, and policy reports. The findings indicate that state intervention is necessary to maintain economic stability and protect vulnerable groups, especially when externalities, information asymmetry, the unavailability of public goods, and non-competitive market structures (cartels/monopolies) cause distortions. Effective policies must be able to align economic actors' incentives with social goals thru the internalization of social costs, for example, with taxes, technical standards, emission limits, permits, and clean technology incentives. The government also plays a role in providing basic services and public goods thru direct provision, public-private partnerships, or targeted subsidies, accompanied by enhanced transparency and public literacy to reduce information inequality. Conceptually, this intervention aligns with the allocation, distribution, and stabilization functions, which demand data-driven diagnosis and measurable, adaptive, and accountable policy governance.

Abstract

Abstract

This community service activity aims to introduce food product innovation through the processing of tofu into Mozzarella Tofu as an effort to increase the economic value of local food ingredients and encourage community entrepreneurial skills. This activity was carried out through mentoring and guidance to participants in Bungoro District, Pangkajene and Kepulauan Regency for two weeks. The activity stages included an introduction to tools and materials, an explanation of the manufacturing process, hands-on practice of making Mozzarella Tofu, and an evaluation of the product results. The results of the activity showed that tofu can be developed into a more attractive, practical, and marketable food product by combining it with mozzarella cheese. This product has a savory taste, soft texture, and a melted cheese sensation that can attract the interest of consumers from various groups. In addition, the marketing strategy was designed using the 4P concept, namely product, price, place, and promotion, with direct sales and promotions through social media such as WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram. This activity implies that simple food innovations based on local food ingredients can increase creativity, entrepreneurial skills, and opportunities for developing culinary businesses in the community.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has driven the emergence of the digital economy as a new driver of economic growth, including in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the role of the digital economy as a driver of national economic growth. The method used is a literature study (library research) by reviewing various sources in the form of relevant scientific journals, books, and official reports. Data analysis techniques were conducted using descriptive qualitative techniques through the process of collecting, categorizing, and interpreting the results of previous research. The results of the study indicate that the digital economy has a significant contribution to improving operational efficiency, expanding market reach, and encouraging business innovation. The use of digital technologies such as e-commerce and fintech has been proven to increase productivity and income, particularly in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector. Furthermore, the digital economy also plays a role in maintaining the stability of economic activity during times of crisis and encouraging economic inclusion by increasing access to a wider market. The development of the digital economy still faces various challenges, such as limited digital infrastructure, low technological literacy, and disparities in access between regions. Therefore, government policy support, equitable digital infrastructure development, and improving the quality of human resources are needed to optimize the potential of the digital economy. Thus, the digital economy can become a key pillar in driving inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Indonesia.
