Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak fermentasi dengan beberapa jenis starter mikroba yang berbeda terhadap kualitas fisik limbah buah lai (Durio kutejensis). Buah lai merupakan tanaman endemik dari Provinsi Kalimantan Timur yang limbahnya terdiri dari kulit dan biji setelah daging buahnya dikonsumsi manusia. Limbah buah lai berpotensi untuk mencemari lingkungan apabila tidak dikelola dengan baik. Fermentasi merupakan teknologi pengolahan pakan untuk meningkatkan kualitas nutrisi dan meningkatkan daya simpan. Jenis starter mikroba yang digunakan dalam fermentasi limbah buah lai pada penelitian ini adalah Aspergillus niger, Effective microoganisms 4 (EM4), dan Phanerochaete chrysosporium. Fermentasi dilaksanakan selama 21 hari dalam kondisi anaerob. Parameter yang diamati pada uji kualitas fisik meliputi: derajat keasaman (pH), suhu fermentasi, tekstur, warna, susut, aroma, dan persentase jamur.  Data dianalisis dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan, meliputi P1: limbah buah lai fermentasi tanpa mikroba starter, selanjutnya untuk P2, P3, dan P4 ditambah mikroba starter yang berbeda A.niger, E. microoganisms 4 dan P. chrysosporium. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa penambahan starter mikroba dalam fermentasi limbah buah lai menghasilkan kualitas fisik yang paling baik apabila dibandingkan dengan control (P1). Limbah buah lai hasil fermentasi berpotensi dijadikan sebagai bahan baku pakan ternak ruminansia.

Abstract

This socialization activity is a community service program that is carried out to build the lives of people in Handil Bakti, Palaran District, Samarinda City, East Kalimantan. This service aims to socialize the benefits of rejected bread and expired milk as maggot feed. So that farmers are independently able to utilize bread and milk waste into animal feed which can minimize the costs incurred. Through a participatory and collaborative approach, this program was attended by 15 people who work as maggot farmers, laying hen farmers, ornamental chicken farmers, and the surrounding community. The service was carried out using lecture and discussion methods by means of delivery by resource persons and direct discussion. It is hoped that this socialization can open farmers' insights about waste that has the potential to be used as maggot feed. The results obtained during the training were the participants' understanding of the benefits of rejected bread and expired milk which can be used as a source of maggot feed.

Abstract

Kefir is a fermented milk product made by inoculating milk with kefir grains, a combination of bacteria and yeast. These microorganisms will play a role in the fermentation of lactic acid and alcohol, which can provide a therapeutic effect. The presence of probiotics in feed can increase enzymatic and digestive activity. As a natural probiotic, Kefir contains various strains of bacteria and yeast that can be used as a substitute for antibiotics that are limited in their use nowadays. The effectiveness of kefir as a probiotic was studied on the production, feed efficiency, and relative weight of the digestive tract in broiler chickens. This study used DOC broiler strain MB 202 with as many as 200 unsexing using a completely random design with four treatments and five replicates for five weeks. Treatment consisted of T0 = basal ration (control), T1 = basal ration + 1.5% probiotic kefir, T2 = basal ration + 3% probiotic kefir, T3 = basal ration+ 4.5% probiotic kefir. The kefir used comes from goat's milk which was given as much as 10% grain kefir fermented for 48 hours. The ANOVA resulted from a real difference (P<0.05) in performance for each treatment compared to the control. At the same time, the intestinal weight parameters of the digestive tract did not show a real difference (P>0.05). The addition of 4.5% probiotic kefir showed the best results on four performance parameters, including consumption, weight gain, and feed conversion ratio, which is also supported by the highest carcass yield compared to other treatments.

Abstract

Animal welfare-based training on livestock handling techniques during sacrificial animal slaughtering is a crucial effort to reduce stress levels and bruising in cattle carcasses post-slaughter. This training, conducted at Al-Ma'ruf Mosque in Samarinda Ulu District, Samarinda City, involved 40 sacrificial animal handlers (stockmen) from various local mosques and prayer rooms. Participants were trained using the Rope Squeeze and Burley methods to enhance technical skills in livestock handling, particularly in reducing the risk of animal injury and work-related accidents. The training results demonstrated increased participants' understanding of livestock behavior and psychology and the application of the flight zone concept, contributing to safer and more effective livestock handling. The evaluation indicated the training's success in reducing livestock injuries and improving meat quality. Additionally, the training positively impacted the sacrificial animal slaughtering practices in the local area.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui kecamatan basis komoditas kambing supaya pemerintah dapat mengembangkan secara maksimal sektor pertanian, khususnya komoditas kambing di Kabupaten Lampung Timur. Data pemotongan dan populasi ternak sepanjang tahun 2016-2020 diperoleh dari instansi terkait yang selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan Location Quotient (LQ) yang digunakan untuk mengetahui kecamatan basis di Kabupaten Lampung Timur, analisis Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ) digunakan untuk menentukan kecamatan basis berdasarkan pertumbuhan komoditas kambing di Kabupaten Lampung Timur. Kecamatan unggulan komoditas kambing ditentukan berdasarkan nilai LQ dan DLQ >1 yang memberi kontribusi besar terhadap daerah karena memungkinkan ekspor serta potensi pengembangan komoditas berkembang dengan cepat. Hasil analisis kecamatan unggulan komoditas kambing yakni Kecamatan Marga Tiga, Sekampung Udik, Jabung, Labuhan Maringgai, Mataram Baru, Way Jepara, dan Sukadana. Setelah didapat kecamatan unggulan diharapkan dapat membantu fokus pengembangan komoditas kambing agar tepat sasaran pada kecamatan yang berpotensi berkembang dengan baik.Kata Kunci: DLQ, kambing, komoditas basis, LQ.Determining the Location of Goat Commodity Base Using LQ and DLQ Analysis in East Lampung RegencyABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the sub-district of the goat commodity base so that the government can optimally develop the agricultural sector, especially the goat commodity in East Lampung Regency. Slaughter and livestock population data during 2016-2020 were obtained from relevant agencies which were then analyzed using Location Quotient (LQ) which was used to determine the base sub-district in East Lampung Regency, Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ) analysis was used to determine the base sub-district based on the growth of the goat commodity in East Lampung Regency. The superior sub-districts for goat commodities are determined based on the LQ and DLQ values >1 which make a major contribution to the region because it allows exports and the potential for developing commodities to develop quickly. The results of the analysis of the leading sub-districts for goat commodities are Marga Tiga District, Sekampung Udik, Jabung, Labuhan Maringgai, Mataram Baru, Way Jepara, and Sukadana. After obtaining the superior sub-districts, it is hoped that it can help focus the development of goat commodities so that it is right on target in sub-districts that have the potential to develop well.Keywords: DLQ, goat, base commodity, LQ

Abstract

Sisa tanaman berupa batang, ranting, dan daun (aerial singkong) adalah limbah yang berpotensi dijadikan untuk bahan hijauan pakan ternak kambing. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa daya dukung aerial singkong sebagai pakan ternak kambing. Lokasi penelitian di Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. Penelitian menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Sampel diambil aerial yang dipotong 40 cm di atas tanah. Populasi kambing di 28 Kecamatan sebanyak 277.420 ekor atau 20.385 animal unit (AU). Analisis location quotient (LQ) diperoleh 46,4 % kecamatan merupakan basis dari ternak kambing. Produksi bahan kering (BK) aerial tanaman singkong yaitu 242.247 ton/tahun, kebutuhan konsumsi BK 71.427 ton/tahun. Daya dukung ternak dengan memanfaatkan sisa tanaman singkong sebesar 69.134 AU, sehingga kapasitas peningkatan ternak untuk Kabupaten Lampung Tengah adalah 48.750 AU. Sebanyak 36 % kecamatan yang ada di Lampung Tengah memiliki kebutuhan pakan melebihi daya dukungnya jika hanya memanfaatkan sisa tanaman singkong saja.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi morfometrik dan sifat kualitatif sapi bali jantan dewasa asal Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) yang dipelihara di Samarinda. Data dikumpulkan dari 98 ekor sapi bali jantan pada 3 kecamatan di Kota Samarinda. Parameter yang diamati meliputi ukuran morfometrik dan sifat kualitatif sapi bali jantan. Data pengukuran yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian diperoleh koefisien keragaman sedang meliputi tinggi panggul 6,92 %, tinggi badan 6,99 %, panjang kepala 7,56 %, panjang badan 7,82 %, dalam dada 7,42 %, lingkar dada 10,55 %, lebar dada 11,44 %, lebar kepala 13,69 % dan lebar panggul yang memiliki nilai sebesar 10,92 %. Secara kualitatif, sapi bali jantan menunjukkan berbagai warna tubuh. Disimpulkan bahwa sapi bali jantan memiliki nilai koefisien keragaman morfometrik yang berada pada tingkat sedang. Pada pengamatan tinggi badan, panjang badan, dan lingkar dada seluruh individu sampel memenuhi kriteria SNI bibit sapi bali serta ditemukan penyimpangan sifat kualitatif sebagai penciri pada warna rambut ekor yang berwarna putih.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi pengembangan budidaya sarang burung walet (Aerodramus fucipagus) di Desa Sidomukti, Kecamatan Muara Kaman, Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Desa Sidomuksi dipilih karena potensinya yang tinggi dalam produksi sarang walet, didukung oleh kondisi mikro dan makro yang sesuai untuk budidaya. Survey dilakukan terhadap 31 responden yang dipilih secara purposive sampling, penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis strengths, opportunities, aspirations, results (SOAR) untuk mengidentifikasi kekuatan, peluang, aspirasi, dan hasil yang dapat dicapai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa usaha budidaya sarang burung walet di Desa Sidomukti memiliki produksi yang tinggi, kualitas sarang yang baik, serta sumber daya manusia yang berpengalaman. Peluang yang teridentifikasi lingkungan yang strategis, dukungan pemerintah, dan permintaan pasar global yang terus meningkat. Hasil analisis SOAR, strategi pengembangan yang disarankan meliputi optimalisasi produksi dan kualitas, peningkatan kapasitas sumber daya manusia, diversifikasi produk, strategi pemasaran dan distribusi, dukungan dan kolaborasi dengan pemerintah, pengelolaan sumber daya alam secara berkelanjutan menjadi fokus penting dalam pengembangan usaha ini. ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the development strategy of swiftlet nest (Aerodramus fucipagus) cultivation in Sidomukti Village, Muara Kaman District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province. The method of determining the research location was carried out purposively, i.e. the village was chosen because it has the potential for high swiftlet nest production and is supported by micro and macro conditions that are suitable for cultivation. This research was conducted on 31 respondents who were selected by purposive sampling, this research used the Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results (SOAR) analysis method to identify strengths, opportunities, aspirations, and results that can be achieved. The results showed that swiftlet nest farming in Sidomukti Village has high production, good nest quality, and experienced human resources. The opportunities identified are strategic environment, government support, and increasing global market demand. The results of the SOAR analysis, suggested development strategies include optimizing production and quality, increasing human resource capacity, product diversification, marketing and distribution strategies, support and cooperation with the government, and sustainable management of natural resources is an important focus in the development of this business.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi pemberian cacing tanah pada ikan gurami pada masa pendederan. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan materi larva gurami soang sebanyak 16.000 ekor, cacing tanah ANC (africa night crawler), dan cacing sutera. Empat kolam beton dengan lapisan plastik ukuran 5,5x2,5x0,5m. Dua kolam didesain resirkulasi yang dilengkapi chamber fisik dan kimia. Larva gurami soang ditempatkan pada 4 kolam yang diisi masing-masing 4.000 ekor yang terdapat lubang masuk dan keluar air (kolam gantung dalam istilah lokal) yang diisi air dengan ketinggian 15cm. Dua kolam didesain resirkulasi yang dilengkapi chamber fisik dan kimia. Penelitian menggunakan 4 perlakuan sebagai berikut: P0= non sirkulasi dengan pakan cacing sutera, P1= pakan cacing sutera dengan kolam resirkulasi, P2= non sirkulasi dengan substitusi pakan cacing tanah, P3= substitusi pakan cacing tanah dengan kolam resirkulasi. Hasil penggunaan cacing tanah hasil vermikompos kotoran kambing sebagai substitusi cacing sutera pada masa pendederan gurami tidak menggangu pertumbuhan dan cenderung optimal jika dengan kolam sirkulasi yang memperoleh daya hidup sebesar 78,95%. Kesimpulan Penggunaan cacing tanah hasil vermikompos kotoran kambing sebagai substitusi cacing sutera pada masa pendederan gurami memperoleh daya hidup tertinggi.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the genetic diversity of the sambar deer (Cervus unicolor) population through mitochondrial D-loop DNA sequencing. The findings provide valuable insights into the conservation status of this vulnerable species in the region and inform future management strategies for Cervus unicolor. Blood samples from 10 individual sambar deer, consisting of 8 females and two male deer, were amplified using PCR and then sequenced. Data analysis of the genetic diversity of sambar deer was carried out using the genome sequencing method from NCBI, Bioedit 7.7.1 software, DNAsp 5.1, and MEGA 11 Software. The results of this study were that the DNA concentration test in sambar deer had an average of 12.375 ng/uL, with an average DNA purity test = 1.34, with 10 samples divided into 3 haplotypes. The level of genetic diversity of sambar deer from all samples is π = 0.01745 ± 0.00380, and haplotype diversity of Hd = 1,000 ± 0.045. Based on the phylogenetic tree, there are two parts: the Asian and Kalimantan regions. The conclusion of the current study showed that sequencing analysis of Sambar deer shows relatively high diversity and is a reasonable basis for performance selection and development of modern Sambar deer breeding.
