Abstract

The training was carried out as a community service program that aimed to increase the skills of extension workers, village officials and peasants in Galing District, Sambas District, in mapping land for rice fields using the Avenza Map application. The background to this work stems from the urgent need for accurate, real-time information on agrarian land management, which is critical to promoting food security. Analysis of the situation has shown that many of the local growers and extension workers do not yet have the necessary skills to use modern mapping technologies, which hinders the efficiency and effectiveness of land management. The problems encountered include a lack of knowledge about mapping applications, as well as limitations in the acquisition and presentation of relevant data. The program, in part, provided training involving material delivery, question and answer sessions, and the practice of using Avenza Map. The training was designed to give the competitors practical knowledge and skills, so they could create job maps, input data, and present information in a geographic information system (SIG). This conclusion indicates that the training not only improves the skill of the participants, but also raises awareness of the importance of technology in modern farming. As the result, community service programs are expected to bring about a sustainable positive impact on rice field management in Kecamatan Galing, as well as encourage active community participation in utilizing technology to improve agricultural productivity.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the learning outcomes of students before and after using the Mind Mapping method, identify the differences in learning outcomes before and after using the Mind Mapping method, and assess the effectiveness of the Mind Mapping method on the learning outcomes of students in class XI IIS A in geography education at MA Khulafaur Rasyidin. The research type used is a pre-experimental design. The research design employed is the One Group Pretest-Posttest design, where the experimental research is conducted without a control group. Sampling was determined using purposive sampling by selecting class XI IIS A as the experimental group, consisting of 41 students. Data collection techniques used in the research include tests, documentation, observation, and interviews. The research instruments are test sheets, observation sheets, documentation, and interview guidelines. The results show that the average scores before and after using the Mind Mapping method are 46.98 and 72.59, respectively. This is supported by the non-parametric statistical test results using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, which yielded an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 0.05, indicating that the hypothesis is accepted, meaning there is a significant difference in geography learning outcomes between the pretest and posttest. Additionally, the effect size calculation yielded a value of 2.02, classified as high according to effect size calculations, indicating that the Mind Mapping method is effective for use, as it helps students understand the material more quickly.

Abstract

Abstract Today the development of education is increasingly rapid, the world of education is now experiencing a turmoil in improving science and quality of education. The quality of education can be improved by changing the mindset used as a basis for the implementation of learning. This can be used as the development of learning media. However, in its development there are still many teachers who have not been able to develop effective and efficient learning media, especially for geography education. This study uses a type of meta-analysis research. Meta Analysis is a set of quantitative statistical methods because it uses the calculation of numbers and statistics for practical interests. Data collection is done by distributing questionnaires online through Google Form. Participants by filling out a questionnaire totaling 45 people consisting of class XII IPS 1, XII IPS 2, and XII IPS 3. Where each participant in the class totaling 15 people. The research questionnaire is filled out by each student based on experience that has been obtained from learning outcomes using visual media and does not use visual media and student learning motivation based on their respective opinions. Based on the results of the research that has been conducted, it can be concluded that visual media provides learning motivation to students with an average motivational questionnaire score of 72.4% with good categories. Abstract

Abstract Demographics are one of the aspects most affected by the dynamics of COVID-19. The increase in the number of deaths to migration trends are aspects that are affected by COVID-19. However, it is not only influenced, demographic aspects can also be a determinant that affects the dynamics of the spread of COVID-19 globally. This study uses a systematic review method that collects relevant journals to be analyzed and studied regarding the causal relationship that arises between demographic trends and the dynamics of COVID-19. The results of the journal analysis show that there is a two-way relationship between demographic trends and the dynamics of COVID-19 which influence each other. Abstract

This study aims to analyse the use of liquid smoke as an alternative to prevent crop failure in rice harvests in Rasau Jaya Dua Village. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data sources obtained through interviews with liquid smoke producers, long-time liquid smoke users, and new liquid smoke users who use it on rice plants. The results of the study show that the use of liquid smoke can help prevent crop failure in rice plants, which is often caused by pest and disease attacks. Liquid smoke is believed to increase plant resistance to pests and also acts as a fertiliser for the soil. Most farmers in Rasau Jaya Dua Village have tried various methods of preventing crop failure, such as the use of pesticides, but the use of liquid smoke as a new solution is still limited. Farmers' responses to liquid smoke users vary. Most welcome this technology because it is considered environmentally friendly and effective, although there are obstacles such as limited knowledge and difficulties in its application. Therefore, further socialisation and training are needed to increase farmers' understanding and skills in the use of liquid smoke. This training is expected to contribute to the development of more sustainable agricultural technology in the future.

This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection through documentation, interviews, and direct observation. The village has a majority Malay population, followed by Dayak and Javanese, with around 80% of the population being Muslim. Cultural life is still preserved with traditional arts such as jipin and Dayak dances. It has a clustered service center pattern. Health and education facilities are available, including a health center and elementary school. Small and medium enterprises, such as grocery stores, serve as centers of economic and social interaction. The high enthusiasm of the community and the support of the government are the main keys to the sustainable development of this village. Based on the results of the study, Bereng Berkawat Village is classified as a self-sufficient village because it has begun to experience outside influences, more advanced technology, better infrastructure, and more diverse livelihood.
