Abstract

This study aims to explore character transformation through the implementation of the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create) learning model at the elementary school level. The research was conducted in Cluster III, Pagerageung District, Tasikmalaya Regency. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed, involving 40 teachers as participants. The research data consisted of classroom observation results, in-depth interview transcripts with teachers, and lesson planning and evaluation documents related to the RADEC model. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The data were analyzed thematically through stages of data reduction, data display, and inductive conclusion drawing to identify patterns in the implementation of the RADEC model and its impact on students’ character development. The findings indicate that the RADEC model can be effectively applied in classrooms, although variations in implementation exist. This model has proven effective in enhancing student character, particularly in aspects of cooperation, discipline, responsibility, creativity, and self-confidence. However, its application faces challenges such as limited time and inadequate facilities. This study recommends further teacher training and the improvement of learning infrastructure to support the optimal implementation of the RADEC model.

Abstract

The main issue in this research is the lack of understanding and deep habituation of essential character values. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the character of mutual cooperation in kindergarten students in Bandung City, Indonesia. The methodology of this research uses quantitative methods and quasi-experimental techniques. The research design adopted is the non-equivalent pretest-posttest Post-test Control Group Design. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire given to the students' parents. This questionnaire measures the components of mutual cooperation. A total of 26 respondents from School A and 18 respondents from School B participated in this study. The analysis results show that the character of mutual cooperation is already possessed by students in both schools. The average score for mutual cooperation is 1.77 (SD = 1.107) in School A and 1.50 (SD = 0.786) in School B. However, these values need to be improved. This research recommends the use of the traditional Papancakan game to strengthen the character of mutual cooperation. The integration of local cultural wisdom into the early childhood education curriculum is very important for the development of children's character.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of ethno-learning as a character education strategy through the integration of local Kacirebonan cultural values in government-based secondary schools in Cirebon City. Using a multi-site ethnographic approach, this study was conducted for one year in four schools that actively develop culture-based learning. The results of the study indicate that ethno-learning is implemented in two main forms, namely through the integration of local culture in intracurricular subjects and through extracurricular activities such as mask dance, gamelan, rebana, and the "Jelajah Budaya" program. One important finding is the role of teachers as cultural mediators who bridge traditional values with the formal education process. Teachers not only act as teachers, but also as value facilitators, art trainers, and cultural preservation agents in schools. The implementation of ethno-learning has been proven to strengthen students' positive dispositions towards local culture, form humanistic social attitudes, and foster reflective cultural identities. This study concludes that culture-based education should not be a complement, but rather the main foundation in the formation of students' character in a contextual and sustainable manner

Abstract

Technological developments have opened up the opportunity for every mixed culture, with negative and positive effects. One negative impact is that students tend to imitate foreign cultures and forget their culture's local wisdom values. Thus, the study intended to see the concept of integrating character education in siri™ na pacce™s local wisdom through sociology. This type of research is a library study that uses books and other literature as primary objects. Studies show how integrating siri™ na pacce™s value in sociology can be done through four strategies. First, exemplary strategy. The teacher, as the subject, gives an example of any action, behavior, or words that indicate siri™ na pacce's attitude. The second strategy is to intervene by integrating values-based character education siri™ na pacce in sociological studies. The third strategy is consistent breeding. After an exemplary and intervention strategy has been implemented, a strategy is needed to keep what has been implanted into a habit or habit. The fourth strategy is reinforcement. The strategy is basically done along with the breeding strategy. This integration can be an attempt to introduce and pass on local culture to the student, as well as good character creation.

Sociology subjects are expected to instill the ability to analyze phenomena and solve social problems in students later, but in reality it is considered an unimportant subject and less desirable by students. Abstract

Indonesian citizens abroad are vulnerable to being influenced by foreign ideologies that are contrary to Pancasila, both those that lead to radicalism-terrorism, those exposed to communism-atheism, and those that show liberalism-westernism. The purpose of this study is to compare various groups of Indonesian citizens abroad, especially Indonesian migrant workers in Tawau, Malaysia, and to analyze how exposure to the above-mentioned transnational ideologies impacts their understanding of Pancasila values and threatens their national character after returning to Indonesia. In this study, an autoethnographic methodology was used. The results of this study are to force the Indonesian Government to create a strategy to protect Indonesian citizens abroad. This strategy will be called the Internationalization of Pancasila Ideology Development. The conclusion of this study is that without implementing the Pancasila Internationalization strategy for Indonesian citizens abroad, the transnational ideological values that are contrary to the Pancasila they adhere to upon returning from abroad will be forcibly disseminated as has happened recently, causing unrest and security disturbances in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study explores how formal education preserves local culture through an ethno-learning approach in government-based schools in Cirebon, Indonesia. Using a multisite ethnographic method, the research was conducted over one year in four secondary schools known for integrating Cirebonese cultural values into teaching. The integration of local culture such as tari topeng (mask dance), gamelan, the Cirebonese language, and the Jelajah Budaya (Cultural Exploration) program helps strengthen students’ cultural identity, develop moral character, and foster positive social dispositions. Teachers act as cultural mediators, connecting tradition with contemporary education. Student engagement varies depending on family background and cultural exposure outside school. Challenges include limited resources, inconsistent student interest, and the need for more adaptive, student-centered pedagogies. The study highlights that culture-based education is not merely supplementary but foundational in forming character, reinforcing identity, and promoting cultural sustainability. It argues for a more contextual, humanistic model of education that aligns with local realities while addressing global educational demands.
