Abstract

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children due to chronic malnutrition. Early detection of various indicators of families at risk of stunting is an important effort in preventing stunting in the community. This research aims to analyze the comparison of indicators of families at risk of stunting in districts with high per capita income and districts with low per capita income. The Method is secondary data research. The data source is the results of the 2021 National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) Survey of East Nusa Tenggara Province. The sample size is 878 families divided into 439 families at risk of stunting from high-income districts per capita, and 439 families at risk of stunting from low-income districts. Sampling was carried out by stratification sampling technique or layered sampling. The independent variable is an indicator of a family at risk of stunting, namely the age of the mother, education, fixed income, number of children, sources of drinking water, proper latrines, and habitable houses, and the dependent variable is income per capita in the district where the family lives. The data were identified and statistically analyzed using bivariate Chi-Square test and multivariate logistic regression with a significant p-value <0.05. The result show that the chi-square test mother's age (p = 0.31), mother's education (p=0.77), fixed family income (p=0.00), number of children (p=0.17), availability of water sources clean (p=0.67), healthy latrine ownership (p=0.82), and healthy home ownership (p=0.03). Logistic regression test results for family fixed income (p=0.00), healthy home (p=0.07). The Conclusion is mother's age, mother's education, number of children, availability of clean water sources, ownership of latrines, and healthy homes are the main indicators of the risk of stunting in families. This indicator has no difference between families living in areas with low per capita income, and families living in areas with high incomes.

Abstract

Background: COVID-19 is a deadly disease transmitted by the SARS-CoV-2 virus that spreads quickly and widely through droplets and the air. Prevention behavior through the 3M, namely maintaining distance, washing hands with soap, maintaining distance, and always using a mask when doing activities outside the home, is important for every individual. Community compliance with Government appeals is very important in controlling the increasing number of cases. Aim: This study aims to analyze the simultaneous influence of knowledge, attitudes, social support, income, education, employment, and history of the COVID-19 vaccine to obtain a model of factors that influence adherence to the use of masks during the COVID-19 pandemic in adolescent in Kupang City. Method: This study is an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design. The research sample was young adults with an age range of 20-40 years as many as 395 people. Data were collected using a list of questions and observations. Data analysis using multiple logistic regression. Findings: The results of statistical analysis show that there is a significant effect between attitudes, social support, employment, and history of administering the COVID-19 vaccine with adherence to the use of masks. With the regression equation model g(x)=2.582+-2.521 (social support) +-3.222 (occupation) +-6.136 (vaccine history) with adherence to the use of masks. Occupation is the dominant variable, with a magnitude of 25,082 times its effect on compliance with the use of masks. Immediate actions taken by the government and relevant stakeholders are firstly increasing public knowledge through continuous health promotion about the dangers of COVID-19 and secondly increasing vaccination, and tightening community mobilization’s supervision.

Abstract

Water is a basic human need and access to clean water will improve a person’s health. However, some communities have limited access to clean water. Difficulty in obtaining clean water will increase the risk of infectious disease transmission and reduce the food security of families and communities, especially in rural areas. These two things certainly increase the risk of stunting in children. This is also a problem in Kualin Village. Therefore, Kualin Village became a Community Service Intervention Village particularly in providing clean water. The activity was carried out in Hamlet 4, Kualin Village, South Central Timor Regency with involvement of participants such as Kualin Village residents, JPM staff and experts, and from FKKH Undana lecturers. The IbM project was divided into few stages, began with an initial survey to determine the initial condition of the damaged water network. Subsequently, a follow-up survey was carried out to determine and calculate the analysis of equipment and tools requirements related to the damaged water network. This activity was preceded by community outreach to inform the position and location of the damaged plumbing system and repair plans. The survey results were then used as standards for improving and implementing clean water installations. After the water installation was repaired, a trial of its use was carried out, which was then followed by the formation of a work team and water committee comprised of the officials and residents of Kualin Village to ensure the continuity of this project, which is expected to improve the well-being and health of Kualin Village residents
